James turned to Jax. "Remind me to get you some English speaking classes. Half of those words you just said, they went in, and then out. At a guess, you said something about biscuits? You make me miss NYC. Where people spoke properly" James smiled, joking to his friend and colleague. If you served together, the jokes came as part, but have no doubt. James would surrender his own life, if it was to save Jax, or any of his people. James turned to face the Sniper. "Gun Sergeant" He said, returning the salute. "Hop in, we can use you. Your eyes" James smiled, waiting for more soldiers.

Jax went off to play the Hero. "Lt. Jax, I am sure she is no damsel in distress, but a member of the U.S forces, who can handle herself!"

"Yes staff Sargent, you want to check around the company sleeping area." He says as he grabs his M27. "We meeting at the motor pool?" He asks.

Jax laughs at james and yells back to james " hey cap just wanted to show her how thins run around here" jax smiled at kenny and then asked her " do you wanna come on patrol with us i know we need someone of your expertise and it will give you a chance to see stan in all its glory' as he smiled trying to make smile talk.

MAGGIE

Maggie stood under the lukewarm shower just enjoying being wet, around here she always felt dried out. The water beeper sounded warning her that she was two minutes from her limit but as she'd already done a quick soap an rinse she just stayed under the water till it stopped.

A few minutes later and Maggie was in her jumpsuit headed out to she if the mechanics had Tumbleweed ready.

Weeds was a Bell OH-58 D model Kiowa Warrior and even though it was no Apache Weeds could still bring on the pain.
Armed with a Hydra 70mm rocket pod and a M296 .50 caliber machine gun Maggie an Weeds performed as aerial support for the patrols that left base.

Maggie's performance at aerial gunnery from the OH-58D was at least one hit out of 50 shots fired at a wheeled vehicle 800 to 1,200 m from the .50 cal which was better than most pilots in Afghanistan and her 7 hyrda rockets her ace in the hole.

She walked up and started her checks even though she wasn't yet on stand by alert because the critical word was "yet"
Around here one moment it was all dust bunnies and butterflies and the next full on fire fight. Weeds was the reason some of the ground pounders was still breathing, hell a couple had kissed Weeds an one said he marry her if it were legal.

Jax starts loading up hid gear as he checks his m16A4 fully modded out and look over to kenny and said " kenny suit up your my driver " jax turns to james and says " Hey cap ill take the medic with me and we will follow behind if thats okay with you ?"

He turned to Jax, who asked. "You want me to permit you, to be alone with our Medic? That's like asking my medic to put a gun to herself, and shoot. Do you not like sitting in the same Humvee as me? Your request is accepted." James said smiling. "Right, serious time now. Fall in, listen up. Full gear out there, and nobody, and I mean nobody. Shoots first. We don't engage, unless engaged first, and Medic. Let's not have too many heroics out there. Don't risk your life, if one of these fellows gets themselves a paper cut. Copy? Everybody, copy?"

jax laughs and listens as james speaks to everyone. Jax could remember all the times he has heard the speech from james on how to handle your self out in the wilds of stan. Jax whispers to james and says " trying to impress the medic over there big guy " as he laughs and then says to the group " alright ladies enough sitting around you heard the captain lets load up and get ready to be oscar mike "

"Hey Captain, we may be slow, but us good old boys know how to get shit done." Kevin chuckled, but as soon as he saw the Captain's face go cold serious, he simmered up standing firm and resolute, listening to his superior speak. Once he was done, Kevin replied, "Oorah." and turned back to his tent to gather his kevlar. Didn't seem like a time to bring along his ghillie suit though since this would only be a patrol, but he was damn well gonna have his rifle at all times.

After having found a replacement and found a spare MRE he heads to up with his unit. Once he found captain James. "Sir lace corporal Dominic Baltodono reporting for duty!" He says saluting

She wonders why he stressed heroics and she sighs

She turns quickly and goes into the Medical station and picks up her field bag and then moves her counter as she has before over to the Patrol slot.
She thinks to herself that this might be interesting as most the time she's been relegated to baggage and rarely gets to show off what she learned at school in San Diego.

Kenny loves the Hummer above driving an MRAP because it drives more like a big car instead of a delivery truck on stilts

Jax throws on his camelback and opens his humvy door it has his own emblem on the side of the door, it was a snake biting off a head of a man. Jax yelled over to kenny and said " kenny over here" as he tosses her the keys, " i got some things to ask you while we going a long roadtrip and all"

Kenny catches the keys and smiles as she says. Sure Lieutenant, ask all the questions you want and I'll answer them

She climbs in the driver seat and set the pre warmer to get the glow plugs ready then stowed her gear behind her seat so she has ready access.

She climbs in and adjusts her belts after adjusting her seat and then she starts then engine after shutting off the warmer.

She has to admit that she's a little nervous about the Lieutenant's' questions.

I haven't really known Lieutenant Shepard long but she seems squared away to me sir.

Kenny looks back straight ahead an purses her lips then with a smile turns back to face Jax Lieutenant Jackson I'm not sure what you really want to know about Lieutenant Shepard so I need you to zero in for effect because indirect will take all day and we still won't be guaranteed a hit on your target

Charles walked out of his garage and towards the long line of humvees, he spotted Kenny and some of the men in the vehicle. unfortunately the undercarage had gone into disarray and he hadn't got round to fixing it. he walked over t the driver window and knocked on it "cars broken, you'll have to take either my buggy or the chopper"

Once he threw on his plate carrier and his tactical vest and strapped on his kneepads, Kevin loaded a fresh magazine of 7.62x51 into his rifle and racked the bolt before slipping it back into his gun-bag and holstering his trusty sidearm, a Beretta M9. He was rather confident today was gonna go off without a hitch, but he still remained ever cautious of the present dangers that awaited him on those damned fields. There were talks among the soldiers about the hajis ambushing some of the patrols, and also how Charlie company over in Kabul got smoked by an IED. As many put it, Afghanistan was like Vietnam without trees. You didn't know where the enemy was coming from until they were right on you. Kevin walked out of his tent and back over to the humvee, chuckling heartily at Jax bugging Kenny with some questions, "Shootin' a little low there, eh Lieutenant? Might wanna dope your scope a bit more." He climbed in the back of the vehicle, setting his rifle in front of him and pulling from his shirt pocket under his vest a can of Copenhagen. He took a pinch of the tobacco and shoved it between his gums when one of the soldiers, none he knew of, knocked on the window. "Well shit." He pondered. "Looks like this rodeo's got a dead horse."

Of course, it was right when they were about to leave that truck pulled up to base with a new Private on board. Private First Class Jacob Hunter got out of the truck, and of course was already in full gear because transport by truck across the deserts in Afghanistan was dangerous. He looked around, and noticed that they were getting ready to leave, probably for a patrol.

Nate walked up to the group "Everyone ordered up Sir?" He asked opening the door to his humvee. He had named her Katherine and he washed her and took care of her everyday. "Gun up top is loaded so you girls will have to fight over who gets to shoot it." He said to the group.

MAGGIE

Maggie climbs into Weeds and checks the throttle is closed by opening it and then closing it to the idle stop, then depressing the idle release to close the throttle fully. 
She then checks that the TOT is below 150ºC before she proceeds. She goes through the final procedures with her co pilot Miguel.

We've got one patrol heading out so we need to shake the bushes an put eyes along North 22. Time out 615 hours. says Maggie to base comms.

Weeds is the only bird on base so she doesn't need to clear with flight control just to let Command know that she's going to go airborne. Soon after she receives conformation Weeds leaps into the sky her turbine spinning at high rpm as her four blades chop the air with pulsing sonic booms. As her nose dips down and the vicious little bird heads up the valley at 120mph.

Maggie's head is on a swivel almost as soon as she's airborne because she knows that just like the ground pounders she's in danger as soon as she's outside the fence.
Weeds dips an zigzags randomly flying as if Maggie an Miguel were drinking tequila an flying under the influence.
