[IC] Strange Encounter: Waves of Infected Undead

Larissa had locked herself into a convenience store when the infected started roaming the street. Although she wasn't fond of killing innocent people, the young woman realized what she had to do when the time came for her to step into survival. She had pulled up in her 2006 Ford Focus, ringing the bell for service on her vehicle. The only working employee at the time jogged out, giving her a wide smile. Although she could do maintenance on her car herself, she had to use her lack of left arm as an excuse to get him out there. When he lifted the hood, she started to make her way out of the vehicle. Her eyes caught sight of a staggering figure in the fog of the morning, and her hand hit the horn. The young man jumped, hitting his head on the sheet metal hood incredibly hard. Noticing it didn't knock him out, she swore underneath her breath and walked over, biting her lip. "I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to." As she spoke, she reached up, grabbing the hood without him seeing. "It's alright, little lady. Just a bump." When he said that, the hood came down hard. She whimpered slightly when his body stopped all motion, half of it hidden beneath the metal she had brought down on him. They started getting closer when she looked, snagging the keys on the employee's belt. Jumping into her car quickly, she grabbed the pistol in her glovebox, then bolted for the store. 'I won't look back...' Her fingers fumbled for the keys, finally locking herself inside.

Lee hated homework, It was to much work, it was to complicated, and just sown right useless. But was required to do it if he wanted to get through collage. Lee stores dreaming and refocused on his homework, determined to finish it. But that was cut short when a loud knock on his door interrupted his concentration. Lee pace palmed, "Really, now", Lee mumbled to him self. Lee stood up walked to the door and opened it with a look if anger on his face. He was about to give the person a piece of his mind, until he saw who was at the door, it was his neighbors daughter,Christina, she was tall, blonde, and 21. Lee almost drooled on himself, just thinking about her. Before Lee could mumble a hello, she pushed Lee inside his home and locked the door, panting. "Wow, I never knew I would lose my virginity like this", Lee mumbled to himself, Lee shock his head and three out that thought, Lee stood up and patted Christina on the shoulder making her jump, " Sorry, ummm what happened, it's not every day you qopen my door and come into my house uninvited, if you even ever cam to my house" Lee asked Christina. She did not respond, Lee tapped her shoulder again, she finally responded, " My dad, h-he tried to eat me", Christina replied quietly, " What" Lee replied stupidly, "MY DAD JUST TRIED TO EAT ME!!" Christina yelled, Lee backed away, "OK, Ok, umm I'll go check on your dad, see if he's ok, is that alright with you" Lee replied softly. Christina complied, she sat down, arms covering her torso. Lee walked out his own house and onto Christina's. Once Lee opened the door, he almost threw up, how could Christina live like this, trash, clothes, shoes, food, furniture all over the floor, either Christina was a slob, or there was a really bad struggle. Lee walked further into the hose, stepping over furniture and other objects. Lee heard grunting coming from a room in the hall, Lee walked toward it, and opened the door. That's when he said hello and bye bye to Christina's rotting, hungry for human flesh father. Lee ran for his life, he made it out of the house, closed the house door and ran into his home, and then he said hello and bye bye to Christina, who was k of like his father. Lee had no idea what was going on, but he was to scared to find out. He ran down the stairs leading to his home and ran to his car, luckily he always kept his keys in his pocket, he opened his car door and crazily drove as far away as he could from his own home.

She opened a package of 'Sno-Balls', her favorite Hostess snack. Licking her lips once, the young woman bit into the sweet treat, which was her first food all day. It was late morning, her hair a good indicator that she had slept in. Surprisingly, the pallet she had made behind the counter was incredibly comfortable, which were layers of emergency blankets and available for sale winter jackets. Her cover was a large jacket she had worn the day she had sealed her fate in the gas station. No one had dropped by since she had locked herself away a week ago. Was no one left? The thought depressed her slightly. If there was no one, this was how her life would end. Eventually, she would go mad without company, or she would starve. Going out alone was a terrible idea, since there was no one to save her ass.

Lee's car came to a stop in front of a convenience store that was quiet aways away from his home. It had been nearly a week since he had encountered Christina and her father, but he had encountered many more like them on his way here. Lucky for Lee he had found a dead police officer with rifles in his hands, even though he had almost no experience shooting, he still took the gun, he felt safer with it in his hands. Lee got out of the car with the rifle in his hands, looked around, seeing that the coast was clear, and toward the door of the store.

Just onto her second pastry, her eyes widened, seeing a car pull up in front of the store. Was she seeing things? Someone was actually alive! By some spur of luck, Larissa not sure whether it were good or bad, she actually had some sort of company. Standing up, she stared at the man heading towards the locked door, finally bringing herself into sight of the incoming stranger. The glass was bulletproof, which was smart of the owners, so she wasn't afraid of the gun in his hands.

Lee opened the door, gun swerving left and right before walking any further in to the store. He took a careful step into the store, closed the door and blocked it with a chair. Lee sighed with relief, he was finally free if those things outside. He turned around and... jumped, "Holy shit" Lee yelled. There was a girl near the back of the store, Lee was to surprised to move, she looked like a normal person, but he just stared, " Ummm hi" Lee said quietly, " You human".

She narrowed her eyes, blocked off by an impenetrable wall where the cashier served people. "You try getting in here and I will blow your brains out." Tough Vivian came out, glaring at the man. He seemed a little older than her, and definitely not bad-looking, but he may have been some psycho killer. Her unbitten Sno-Ball was between her fingers lightly, as if it were some fine piece china that she could crush in her pretty, thin fingers. Although she was small, weight and height wise, Vivian was a strong, physical weapon. And this guy would have been nothing to rid of.

Lee scratched his head at her response" Oww, That would hut like hell don't you think" Lee replied. "You wouldn't say that if someone like Morgan Freeman cam in here" Lee mumbled under his breathe. Lee looked over at the girl, she was smaller than him, but he had to admit, he was intimidating, Lee did not want to deal with her, but she was the fist person he had seen in days,and she had food, no just any food, the food of the gods, Hostess products, his month waters just watered just thinking about it. " I wasn't trying to get in anyway", Lee said to the girl, " My name is Lee, It's nice to meet you".

"Blakely..." She leaned onto the counter behind the window. The store was bare in the front, Larissa having brought everything into the back with her. "How are you alive...? I haven't seen a living person in a week, and I killed that guy myself." Deciding to leave the part out about hating herself for doing it sounded more intimidating. He was so tall... to her anyway. Biting her lip, the young woman glanced past him, outside. A few zombies started meandering over to the front of the store. She pointed to the door, snapping once. "Block up the door, now. Or they will get in."

"Huh" Lee replied stupidly. He turned around and saw some of the infected milling around the store, that was not good, Lee had to think fast, he did not want completely block one of the maybe 2 exits they had. Lee saw a block shelf, like the ones they had at Walmart. He started to push it toward the door, but he was struggling to push it, " A little help here" Lee said grunting.

She grumbled slightly, unlocking the door quickly. Running over, she laid her shoulder against the shelf, pushing with her body and the only hand she had. It was a little heavy, but the woman felt like he definitely could have pushed it on his own. Swallowing her nerves, Vivian stepped back and looked at the blocked door. The man's scent probably lingered outside, and that is what the undead must've smelled. It would only be another hour until it went away, so she had to keep her guard up in case of a breach. "Be more careful next time..."

"Trust me, you won't have to tell my twice, careful is my middle name" Lee sighed. He sat down with his back leaning on the blockade, placed his rifle on the floor beside him and raked his hand through his hair. He was exhausted, to tired to even talk anymore, he wanted to curl up and go to sleep right then and there, but he knew there was more important things at hand, " So, what now" Lee asked.

"What do you mean, 'What now?'?? I live here, and you just waltzed in here like you own the place." She growled a little. "Then you expect help from me pushing some heavy object to keep your ass safe, when I was behind that counter, comfortable and okay with sitting back and watching you get eaten alive. Be glad I saved your ass, and you owe me one!" Throwing her arms into the air, Larissa walked back behind the counter and locked herself behind there. "You can have that half of the store. Good night." It was mid-afternoon, but she closed the blinds in the windows of her section, ending their interaction for the day.

Lee burst out laughing he just.could not help it. He knew she was being serious, but that was just funny to him, " Look, I'm sorry. I just need a place to stay for a bit before I get back on the road to find what's left of my parents" Lee replied breathing hard, " And let me.give toy some advice, this place won't hold long, you will eventually need food, and you will have.to go out there, you might not survive with just a knife and sheath, I've seen others kill each other over a scrap of food,l when this thing was just starting, just a waring tough girl" Lee relied with a smirk

She didn't listen to a word he said, except the part about food. She knew how to do things around here, and probably knew more about surviving than he ever would. "Don't worry. When I get too hungry, I will just eat you. Don't need to be one of those creatures to eat someone, especially someone so annoying..." Leaning over, Vivian put her hair in a ponytail position, then used her only hand to tie it up with the hair tie around her wrist.

" I don't know if I would taste very good, skinny Hispanic does not sound like 4 course Italian meal" Lee replied playfully, "but don't worry, I will leave tomorrow, just let me stay for the night" Lee asked, he wasn't one to beg, but he did not want to drive all night, without lights with all the infected everywhere.

Giving no response, Larissa started walking around in the back, gathering up a few things to eat. She opened up the window, setting the food on his side. "Here. This is all you get." The window was closed and locked right after, sealing the two apart from each other. "And by the way..., I love Hispanic food."

Lee took the food from her hand and thanked her. Lee opened it up at but into the meal, it was the most first thing he had eaten in 3 days. Lee heard her when she said she liked Hispanic food, "Ha, who doesn't, almost all I ate, before this all started" Lee replied, remembering what his life used to be 2 weeks ago.
