Sunia, the land controlled by elves. Several years ago, it was know as The Land Of Elves, but has become a nexus of sorts for all races. The High Elves became more lenient with their immigration laws. Sunia is controlled by the High Elves, and until recently it only allowed other Elven variants past their borders freely. They have claimed that they want to spread their knowledge of arts arcane and otherwise to the rest of the world, but some people believe that it's simply a ploy to take out former enemies within their walls where their deaths will be overlooked.

Covering the western and southern parts of the Sunia border is Egreen, the home of many races and variants of Man. It is filled with far more forests than the neighboring country, and isn't nearly as mountainous. There are only a few parts of Egreen that get yearly snow, but few settlements are up there due to that fact that they see nothing of use there. Sunia has reaches more north than Egreen, and even has a long stretch of land that reaches below the human country.

Far to the southeast is a tropical island of Elves. There are only two races that truly live there, and both of them are Elven races. The are the appropriately name Tropic Elves and the Orcs. The Orcs live closer to the volcanoes, while the Tropic Elves live near and on the shores. Some Elves live with the Orcs, and vice versa, as they have for quite some time.

Of course there are many other places around the world that have various races, like the mostly desert Island of Hocia, the northern and southern poles, and even the great plains, but we'll get to that later.

It doesn't truly matter why you have come here, to this tavern in a little town on the outskirts of Sunia, the land controlled by Elves. The only thing that truly matters is that you're here, and you've come looking for the reward.

But you don't know what the reward is. Either by the numerous fliers around the land, or by spread word, you heard about a man looking to conquer the deepest and most challenging dungeons that the world has to offer. You've no idea what might lie within those dungeons, but the only way to know is to get there. There could be a source of unlimited power that could easily rival the gods, a weapon meant for defeating the greatest of creatures, knowledge of past, present, and future, wealth and treasures beyond your wildest fantasies, or nothing at all.

You walk into the tavern and see a lone man sitting by himself at the far end of the bar. You walk up to him and ask him if he's heard of the man that you have heard about. The man isn't an elder by any means, but he has had his fair share of fights. He was probably just passing the middle of his thirties, judging by his slightly worn appearance. He smiles and asks you if you had come to the tavern in search of a man that could lead you to treasure, and you answer him yes, but find it odd as that was just what you had told him. He asks you to sit beside him, and orders you a drink before saying "Welcome to the team."

I do hope that you guys know the standard set of rules for roleplaying, as I will not be putting them up here. I just think that having them on every OOC is a bit of a waste, when they should be on the front page or stuck on top of every OOC list.

--Race: Elf
--Appearance: Assallya prefers loose revealing silks but is not above wearing petticoats if she must in order to engage in some form of scam or in order to move through an area unnoticed. She uses a number of cosmetics and has a fondness for trinkets.

--Skills/abilities: Assallya is adept at crafting poisons, sedatives, stimulants and recreational drugs. Her skill as a herbalist ends there however. She is also a sorceress that specializes in the ephemeral. She is adept at controlling emotions, charming enemies into becoming allies, and other mind afflicting magics. She also greatly enjoys illusions. Her only true combative spell is the "Shocking Grasp", where she can reach out and electrocute someone by touch.

--Personality: Though small and frail, Assallya is nothing short of a bully. She prefers subtly manipulating people into doing what she wants without them realizing it but has no qualms reaching out and magically crushing a person's will if necessary. Though formerly a slave herself, kidnapped at a young age she has no problem having servants or slaves herself. In short, she's petty, cowardly, greedy and almost as ugly inside as she is beautiful outside. This is not to say that she won't help people if she can. One can never have too many friends after all. However, if there is danger she'd likely contemplate the value of lending aid against the risk.

--Biography: Assallya Kressair was born in the autumn in a small village on the outskirts of Sunia. At the young age of 26 (aprox. 11 or 12 in human years) slavers attacked and killed her entire village except for those taken as slaves. Assallya, her sister Saeliah, and several others were transported far across the continent in order to avoid the elven wrath sure to follow. Assallya and Saeliah were separated when Assallya was purchased be Pasha Alkiel. Head of a powerful group of rogues, Alkiel purchased her as a dancer and concubine for both personal use and for information gathering and blackmail. She then served in Alkiel's bedchamber for the next eight years while being trained in dance, seduction and other roguish arts in order to perform her duties.

She was treated as an object and was given to allies and employees of the Pasha who performed exceptional services. Soon enough, she learned about the many different types of power and discovered that even as a slave she was far from powerless. Succeeding in seducing one of the Pasha's magicians she bid him teach her magic. At first he balked until Assallya cast for him the only thing her father had taught her at that young age, a cantrip. A small thing, it changed the colour of his fingernails, but it was magic none the less. He agreed then, for he was a lonely uncomely man who rarely received a woman to his bed. However, he placed conditions on his tutorial; refusing to train her in combative magics and warning her that should he ever target him with her spells it would mean her death. She surprised all of them by inventing an inferior version of the invisibility spell which allowed her to sneak away from the Pasha's clutches and return undetected. In this way, by filching jewels and prostituting herself she built up savings with a money lender.

It was with the aide of the Pasha's son that she succeeded in poisoning the Pasha, planning on becoming a partner to the successor instead of a slave. With her manipulative mind behind him to advise his passionate power they were sure to bring their competitors to their knees. What she was not expecting was the Pasha's extended family to hire a necromancer to speak with their departed kinsman. He quickly named his murderer and Assallya regretted bragging as he died.

She ran, the Pasha's son giving her a few moments to escape, fearing that she would claim his involvement which would lead to his family asking him uncomfortable questions. The next few months she moved slowly north, the sands left behind her and the lands becoming more lush and green, returning at last to Sunia.

She has since discovered that she doesn't quite fit in with the other elves any more. She has simply spent far too long in foreign lands and hasn't learned all the intricacies of the elven court. Since then she has purchased a vardo wagon and has journeyed around the edges of the empire doing everything from dancing on tables, to performing as a bard. She's also sold fake magical trinkets, whored herself, aided criminal groups as a distraction or spy and a bit of adventuring.

Name: Orinthias "Orin" Vanir.
Age: 286 in human years, proportionate to being a 95 year old man.
Race: Tropic Elf
Appearance:
Skills/abilities: innumerous spells ranging from invisibility to creating ear-shattering sonic waves. In his many years of stalking and killing, he knows well how to appear like a fragile old man, when in reality he could kill his target at any moment.
Personality:
Biography: Orin grew up on the island of Kolas, where the Tropis Elves and Orcs lived in peace. His time there was short lived as his parents moved to the mainland. Not long after moving to Sunia, his young mind was introduced to the Red Glade, a group of assassins who carried out contracts given by people with good amounts of gold. He began killing at a young age, and developed many techniques to fit the requests of the contract givers. Sometimes they needed to be killed in public, be erased from the world, or in some rare cases have a death faked. He could adapt to just about every situation.
In his young years, he took a liking to studying magic and how it could be used in ways to affect the body before a kill was made. This led him to developing spells and techniques that could cause dementia, loss of memory, or even have the body go through so much stress that the mind creates another personality. He loved toying and messing the the people that he had to kill, and in his relatively short time of being with the Red Glade, he had become one of the most requested assassins.
Fast forwarding several years and countless kills later, Orin retired from the Red Glade, hoping to live out the rest of his life away from death and killing. He became a treasure hunter instead, and began going through dungeons using the spells that he had acquired over the years. Recently though, he had begun to wear down. His age starting to catch up with him, and his memories filled to the brim with death plaguing his mind. He came across a map during one of his travels that pointed him towards a dungeon that was unlike any that he had seen. He knew that he could not face it alone, and because of his old age and past, money wasn't ever on his mind, so he set out to get a group of treasure hunters to assist him on his journey to the most difficult dungeons around the globe.

This is a work in progress, and I will be making another character.

With a thorough understanding of human behavior and tendencies, he is able to determine people's thoughts and predict their reactions with high accuracy. Caspian is cunning and charming. Although Caspian enjoys conflict, often showing up wherever there is potential for one, he usually stays out of it, preferring to observe the fight instead of directly taking part in it. However, when provoked, he quickly puts his opponent in his place, simply proving his superiority without actually beating the other person. Therefore he is usually seen as the one starting fights, but hiding in the shadows instead of directly taking part.

Not meaning to be rude or confrontational or challenging but how does Katarina, a four and a half foot tall girl even draw, let alone murder people with a recurve bow? I mean this as an honest question, not in any way saying that I don't like the character. A skilled archer draws with one hundred pounds of force. The average draw weight for such a child is only 10-15 pounds and while I wouldn't want to get in front of any bow, this arrow would be moving almost ten times slower, easily stopped by really weak armour and also slow enough to easily dodge or possibly even catch! Also, it is said that she studied magic for several years? What sort?

Honestly though, I do like the murderous tiny girl concept. One possible explanation for her ability that comes to mind is that maybe Katarina somehow uses magic on her bow or casts some sort of spell to help her become stronger, enough to draw more weight on the bow making her a more deadly archer while still remaining small? Maybe she possesses a special magic bow with a history of its own?

On a secondary note, this is turning into an interesting group. So far they're all con-artists, thieves, assassins and the like. Not your typical heroic fare.

I actually didn't really think about that, so do you mind if I use your idea of using magic on the bow?

For the magic, it would have been simple things like lighting candles from a distance and such. She was really young when she studied it, so the Witch wouldn't have taught her anything advanced yet.

So long as you're happy. Another idea is maybe that the bow is a powerful magical weapon that belonged to her grandmother and her grandmother was someone super-famous and Katarina has no idea? It could give Pyromancer something to work with and the bow could reveal additional powers down the road. Hmmm... maybe the spirit of her grandmother lives in the bow itself which is why it's so easy to use?

I once had a character who was a young girl who inherited gauntlets that granted her immense strength. (Girdle of Giant Strength for anyone with D&D experience) She carried a normal bastard sword, wielding it like it was a two hander but what I really enjoyed was the look on most warriors when she, quite literally, twisted their arms.

Skills/abilities: Adept conjuring/summoning mage, can summon a certain set of familiars to aid him in multiple ways, not just for battle. Can also summon inanimate objects like beds and other things, with a reasonable margin for error.
Personality: Atticus has always had a love for magic and the arcane arts. he hopes to one day unlock the secrets of the gods, as well as how to apply Elven longevity to a human. He enjoys consulting and talking to his familiars, as they are usually more available and talkative than his adoptive parents.
