Okay, lol. I have some stuff for the next few days, so I'm going to be a bit busy. I'm thinking we should all just post when you can, so I'll do my DM post followed by my player post, Daglobster does his, then 42nd does his. Of course this is just how we'll start off doing it.

I'll put up the first IC post relatively soon, within the next few days, possibly hours depending on how busy I am, but yeah. No pressure to post immediately, though.

Heh, I can imagine my character sidling over to Lysander and Tormir, hunched over his staff, and then, with a mad smile on his face, saying, "Well, boy-oh, looks like you'll be needing the services of a healer shortly." *exaggerated WINK WINK and holding hand out for payment* "Currently, I've a 40% discount on pre-purchased services. And this way, you'll get healed even if you're too unconscious and bleeding to pay me. It's a win win for you. Heh."

A Warrior-Sailor, a Rogue-Thief, and a Mad Old Wizard.
There's really no more room for any other archetypes is there?

A monk perhaps? Or perhaps a support mage?

You are aware that the Mad Old Wizard is also an aged warrior seeking honorable death in combat despite the fact that age has left him almost completely restricted to healing and buffing (Aka, a support mage?). Also, while a bit irreverent, I wouldn't call him mad.

Just saying, you oversimplify, sir. There are idiosyncrasies within each archetype. The devil's in the details.

The rogue for example, is very overtly rogue-ish, but, he also dreams of being a bard, of playing instruments. That's different.

The Warrior-Sailor is a shrewd merchant and navigator, cleverer than his title implies.

Oversimplified you say? What ever makes you say this?
I doubt it. A trope is a trope, done before and hereafter.
It makes the roles predictable in a group, as each align to a particular niche.
Every adventuring party lays claim to the stock.

The thieving, romantic rogue has been fulfilled.
The leading, laconic warrior role has been fulfilled.
The supporting, veteran mentor role has been fulfilled.

The mage I desire to craft is one who seeks to alter the very fabric of reality, specializing in mysticism and alteration.
He would be believe himself to be above the petty squabbles of combat and as such, refrain from it unless absolutely necessary.
Preferring to catch up on his reading in the midst of battle in his protective mage armor.

And with that, I should be able to fulfill the mystifying, arrogant mage.

Then all which is required would be an alluring, kickass female.
And then we shall have an adventuring party worthy of a classical campaign...

We could use others who aren't archetypes, as you say, eh?

And besides, nobody said we can't have multiple mages, rogues or warriors. Besides that, there are other archetypes, standalones like monks or bards, or combonations, like spellswords.

Mmm... I get the feel that you should post again, Emyris. Drevayne could but in, however, I think it'd be out of character for him. If you want me to post anyone to keep formatting, I'll just have him post entering the bar and taking a seat somewhere.

Interested in playing a werewolf character. What limitations and/or prerequisites (besides the obvious lore surrounding werewolves in the TES universe) are we looking at?

Well, it all depends on your preference.

Do you want to have the classic version found in High Rock and around Tamriel, or do you want the Companion brand? Are you, or were you ever at some point a Companion? Do you want to contract Lycanthropy during your backstory or would you be willing to contract it during the roleplay (because there will be a quest series-esque adventure revolving around Lycanthropy in High Rock, and hence there will be the opportunity to contract it)?

Not a Companion, but she's had more than a few run-ins with the Silver Hand I'd imagine. Small villages, hamlets and towns throughout Skyrim have probably heard faint whispers of an especially potent werewolf of daunting ferocity that strongly exhibits a pattern of behavior that is wholly dissimilar to that displayed by the world's other werewolf denizens.

Basically, she doesn't maul random people and can (to an extent) stave off the urge to slaughter anything living (and nonliving alike) that crosses her path. Granted, it's happened before (the first shift is almost always the hardest to contend with)--and still occasionally does happen--but these are now rare occurrences. This particular bit on her history will be rather grim to say the least. Suffice to say, the Silver Hand doesn't care how 'reformed' or 'in control' she is. She's still a monster and must be dealt with accordingly.

Anyway, that sort of raw killing power stems from the character's status as a lesser champion of Hircine; the Huntsmen has taken a keen interest in the character due to her unique capacity to effectively utilize her werewolf form as a honed weapon rather than as an uncontrollable curse that haphazardly destroys whatever mortal or immortal entity that it comes into contact with.

She's an efficient hunter and a natural-born murderer. Hircine, naturally, admires these aspects of his Hound very much. The Daedric Lord--along with the wolf that dwells within her mind---mutually whisper honey-laden words of comfort and temptation to the character in an effort to draw her closer to her patron. She's destined for the Wild Hunt and the Hunting Grounds. Hircine knows this, and the character fears it. Deeply.

More OT: Character contracted the disease in her backstory, she's not a Companion and she's probably seeking passage off of Skyrim in an effort to flee her past and those that are pursuing her.

I am interested in that Lycanthropy quest line though. Any details?

EDIT: In case there were concerns of powerplaying on my part, I kind of envisioned this character being a wandering street beggar or pauper of some sort. It's a low profile profession, so I think it fits nicely. Decent hand-to-hand experience, but expert-level swordsmanship and sorcery is out of the question. Personal wealth is minimal and 'armor' probably consists of hide, rags and fur garments handcrafted from kills that she's scored in the wilderness. Useful group skills? Maybe pick-pocketing and picking locks. Remaining unseen works too I guess. Her technique is sloppy though and her lackluster skills probably didn't earn her a spot in the Thieves Guild I'd imagine.

So basically, when you whip out the werewolf form, you're boss, but the rest of the time, you're a spare crewhand, if that.

Difficult to balance, but potentially rewarding.

Well, the Werewolf storyline is based around a pack in High Rock, more details will be provided later on, but yeah, post an app here, and your first IC post will be accepted after your app, as well as after Drevayne's (42nd Gecko's) next post.

And if you don't post an app before we leave Skyrim, we could always meet your character on the road.

WIP. This is what I have so far; I'll be finishing this tomorrow or so.
Name: Nirrah

Race: Khajiit (specifically of the Suthay-raht racial derivative)/Lycanthrope (Werewolf)

Age: 36

Gender: Female

Origin: Kingdom of Anequina, Elsweyr. Born in a small desert village.

Religious Beliefs: Khajiit Pantheon, but fraternizes heavily with the Daedric sects.

<Hircine> The Daedric Lord Hircine has played a considerable role in the progression of Nirrah's rugged life as a werewolf by habitually augmenting the physical capabilities, the extramundane resistances and the natural weaponry of her lycanthrope form. Contrary to the religious beliefs of other werewolves, Nirrah abstains from directly revering the Huntsmen and desperately seeks to distance herself from him and his dastardly schemes; she fears him deeply, and while the Daedric Lord's true motives are obscured in the shadowy veil of mystery so often homologous with the higher entities native to the otherworldly realms of Oblivion, Nirrah strongly suspects that Hircine aims to net her quintessence for his own personal use in the infamous Wild Hunt.

<Nocturnal> Darkness and chance have both provided a means for survival when Nirrah's combat skills could not be relied upon. On more than one occasion, the Khajiit has been driven to wield the shadows and the bleakness of night as a literal arsenal against her adversaries, suddenly springing forth in a murderous blur, her shiv wrapped tightly in her hand and with a smidgen of luck on her shoulder. While Nocurnal is likely to be entirely apathetic to Nirrah's mere mortal plight, Nirrah firmly regards her in a motherly sense, and feels that the Mistress of Shadows is the one to thank for her contentious survival.

Class: Beggar/Thief/Pauper

Fighting Style: Unarmed combat/

Fighting Style Specifics:

Weapons: Her natural claws and her shiv. Nirrah's main weapon, however, is the brutal form of the werewolf, which she only unleashes in the most trying of times.

Affiliations:

<The Silver Hand>

<The Companions> It could be argued that one of the easiest ways to track and discover a werewolf is by using another werewolf as a tracker. The Circle of Jorrvaskr became aware of Nirrah's existence during its feud with the Silver Hand some time prior to the World Eater's downfall. When she was finally located and it was discovered that the blessing of Hircine loomed over her, the Circle members attempted to indoctrinate the young woman into their collective. Instinctively, Nirrah refused the offer, stating that the Silver Hand's relentless persecution of werewolf kind and the Companion's retaliative actions to such crimes would eventually lead them to the Companion's very doorstep and, consequently, to her own demise. She was called a coward of course, but cowardice has always been one of Nirrah's strongest assets. She took no offense to the bitter statements and racial slurs lobbed at her and left the mead hall without a word.

Bio: (Nothing Fancy, just a short bio, how you got to Skyrim in the first place, just basic backstory.)

Personality: (Pretty basic, just tell me how your character acts.)

Appearance: (Includes clothing, facial features, distinguishable markings, body type, etc.)

Other: (Is there anything else I should know about this character?)
