"Nope. Of course, I haven't traveled too much, so that's probably why." Desmond confirmed, still seeming amazed by the cute little creatures below them. Though he paid attention to her as she spoke.
Desmond tilted his head, somewhat confused about what she meant. He wasn't one to consider himself above others, so being told this gave him a conflicting feeling inside. "Everyone has a reason." He replied, confidently. "Sometimes we just don't realize it right away, or have feelings that make it difficult for us to think we can push through. Things like that can take time to be fully understood." He tried to be encouraging, though wasn't certain if he was any good at it as he hadn't honestly tried it before. It reminded him of when he decided to hold off on getting a Pokemon due to not feeling ready to travel.
"..." As April brought up trusting Pokemon, Desmond was silent in thought for a moment. He was broken from his train of thought quickly as she offered for him to give some treats to the Pokemon. "A-Absolutely!" He answered happily, walking over to retrieve the treats from April.
As he did so, he couldn't help but speak his mind. "But, speaking of trust... What was with that woman during the battle? How could she simply desert that Cubchoo-" He paused, looking back towards the big Beartic. "Uh- Beartic? It was like the poor thing was nothing more than a tool to her." That woman angered him, but he kept it inside. Not wanting to show it in front of the little Pokemon in front of him. He still didn't have too clear of an idea of what that woman had came here to do, or what that battle was about. A thought crossed his mind that Rick might be able to answer his questions, though Desmond wasn't sure when the man would come home.
