TheMadAsshatter Guess who's back

This is a thread where people can write out whatever dreams they have. Yadda yadda yadda, you get the idea. I'll make the OP prettier later, I'm on my phone right now. Anyways, here's a dream I had a while ago: I was in a metro train that I was taking all the way to the end of the line. Apparently, that line ended at the cordon of the Chernobyl zone of alienation, and before I knew it, I was a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Fortunately, there was loads of leftover gear near the stop, and I managed to load myself up quite generously for having been in the zone for under five minutes. Among the things I grabbed were an LR-300, Desert Eagle Mk VII, three grenades, a standard S.T.A.L.K.E.R. suit, plenty of meds, plenty of food and drinks, and a PDA that was no longer being used. I was about to start towards the center of the zone, when another train pulled up. This one, however, was full of kids, and I was thinking, "WTF are kids doing here? This place is dangerous as fuck!" I tried to hurry them back onto the train, but they were more scared of my weapons than they were of the things that I was warning them about, and they all took off at a dead sprint into the interior of the zone. Exasperated, and feeling I'd been delayed enough, I forgot about them and started for the center myself. I knew I had a reason for being there, but it didn't quite come to me until a moment later. My friend had come to the zone a few months ago. He was due to be back a month ago, so when he didn't turn up, I decided to look for him. Considering my luck so far, I figured I would have a decent chance of survival, so I carried on. I ran into the kids again somewhere further down the way. The scenery hadn't changed much; mostly grassland with some patches of shrubbery, trees, and woods, but then I noticed something peculiar. The area that they stopped near had a weird walkway-type structure right in between a small pond and some trees. It was in good condition, with no structural faults, and it couldn't have been more than a couple of years old. It wasn't hard to believe that it had been there a while, considering how far from the center of the zone it was and that there were no anomalies near it, but it seemed out of place. The way it was placed made it seem like a walkway, but it was abnormally wide, like maybe it was the foundation of a structure that had never gotten past that stage of construction. Odd constructs aside, all of the kids were there. They had run into a woman who appeared to be a teacher or something; another thing that felt out of place. Regardless of how odd it was to have this particular band of civilians in the zone, I told her that the kids had to go back and get the hell out of the zone, and she relayed the message to the kids. Most of them went with her, but one stubborn little shit with a bicycle decided to taunt me, and then go further into the zone. I followed behind him but soon lost the trail. I figured the stubborn idiot had blundered into an anomaly or something and, sad as it is, I really didn't feel all that sorry for someone as fucking stupid and thick-headed as him. I continued on my merry way and soon found myself in the garbage. I ran into another S.T.A.L.K.E.R. there and, after exchanging our greetings and reasons for being in the zone, we decided to join up and help each other out. While at the garbage, we found what appeared to be a small drainage pipe near the opposite end of the garbage that I had entered on. Figuring there might be something interesting inside, we decided to check it out. It turned out to really only be the entrance that seemed in any way artificial. The only length of pipe was maybe half a meter long. The pipe gave way to a small cave which, from our PDAs, was only supposed to be a few meters in. We went into it and found an entrance to another, much larger cave that had not been indicated on our PDAs. I suggested we turn around, but my companion charged headlong into the cave. I didn't like the situation at all, but I couldn't in all good conscience let him go in alone. I reluctantly turned on my headlamp and followed him in. I couldn't help but wonder if the man had just lost it, because he just seemed to walk through the cave with no sense of direction; he just took whatever turn felt good to him and continued walking at an accelerated pace. I honestly had trouble keeping up without running, but when we rounded a corner into a large chamber we saw something that made us stop dead. We could see an exit, but it was beyond where a lone zombie stood, grasping an AK-74. The other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. had his rifle, a shoddy AKS-74u, raised and was probably about to fire. "I got this one," I interjected, likely seconds before he pulled the trigger. "Alright," he replied as I raised my rifle to my shoulder. I was glad the rifle had a SUSAT scope on it, otherwise I would have been much more hesitant about taking a shot at the zombie at all. With a fair amount of confidence that I could land a headshot, I peered through the scope and lined the point of the reticle to the zombie's head. I began to squeeze the trigger gently, making sure to keep my sight on target, but just when the trigger was about to break, the zombie stood up and pointed it's rifle at us. The movement caused me to miss the first shot, but I landed my follow-up perfectly. Almost simultaneously, I heard a shotgun blast come from behind me and I turned to see the other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. slouch over and collapse. He had been killed instantly as the buckshot tore through the base of his skull. I turned around just long enough to see four zombies with rifles come around another corner and start shooting at me. I didn't have time to think about shooting back at them, so I let loose a small burst of poorly-aimed shots into the group and took off towards the entrance. I didn't have time to see how much distance I placed between myself and the zombies, I just had to get to the sloped pipe that led to the surface. I heard the constant gunshots and the whizzing of bullets past my head. None of them hit me, but a lot of them came close enough that I could feel their wake through the air. I hit the slope and scrambled up to the top, finding it blocked by a grate. I gave the grate a kick and saw it pop out a bit. I gave it a couple more kicks and it was out. I practically flung myself out of the pipe, but I knew the zombies were close behind me. I took a grenade out of a pocket and flicked it into the pipe. It exploded a few seconds later, and the gunfire abruptly stopped along with it. As sure as I was that the grenade properly dispatched of my pursuers, I didn't dare check to be sure. I had to take a breather. I sat down on top of the very pipe that I had just come out of and took stock of my new surroundings. I had apparently gained a lot of ground, and I found myself at a sewage or ventilation complex, or something of the sort. I saw a bit of scaffolding that I could climb atop to get a better look at the area. Wanting to waste no time, I promptly clambered up the five meters to the top of the structure. From what I could tell, I had traveled far beyond the garbage and the forested area that I had started at. I was surprised I had not seen any anomalies yet, but I decided it was for the better. There was a road nearby that seemed to lead to what appeared to be a larger complex; a power station or factory of sorts, from what I could tell. I noticed that the sky had darkened and clouded over quite a bit, and it looked like it would rain any minute. The only logical course of action I felt I could take was to look for shelter, and since the cave was out of the question, I decided I would proceed down the road to the factory. It only took me a few minutes to arrive, but by that time the clouds had materialized into a much more ominous shape, a shape that I recognized very well, and judging from the direction they were forming in, I could tell my hypothesis was probably accurate. The clouds took a shape that could only be aptly described as being like a towering wall cloud. I could even feel the usual physical discomfort that accompanied what I thought was about to come. What I heard from the person hustling S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s into the factory solidified my theory. An emission was fast-approaching. I quickened my pace to a jog towards the entrance to the facility that the others were taking shelter in. I could see the wall of clouds expanding across the land, and I could see the air start to become tinted red as fierce clusters of lightning began to flare up all around and the center of the clouds began to glow. I ducked under a swinging arm gate and into the door to the inside of the building just as the emission was reaching it's peak. I checked behind me to see if anyone else was trying to get in. When I saw no one, I shut the door immediately. I leaned my back against the door and let out a sigh of relief.

I love dreams, this is a cool idea. I'll write in a dream or two when I get home.
