Edit done. I'll attempt to be more observant with future posts. Can't see as I can be less.

Experiencing a similar sense of deceleration with my Other Guys RP. Eh.

I seem to be unable to retain a good selection of players. I am not sure if this is due to the RP moving slow or due to me being me.

Thoughts?

Couldn't say, though I am experiencing something similar. Whenever I get into an RP board, I usually hang around in the background until I establish a group of like-minded weirdos and keep inviting the same four or five into whatever RP I'm running or just getting involved with.

Eventually, the small group winds up being the major players in whatever RP individual members are running at the time. Haven't gotten there yet with Roleplayerguild, only been on a month. Hopeful, though.

Times like this, I tend to blame the metric system. No particular reason, just flash back to Pulp Fiction. You know what they call D&D in Amsterdam? RP with cheese...

@SigilOn that note, your time to post. We're skipping one rotation of knight, so you decide where you two go, assuming he picked up the wand.

@DMZ
Question - the exchange with the guard recruits; did we hear that or was it flavor text to let us know an action sequence was forthcoming?

Personally, I think an hour break to get a quick peek in the tower is a capital idea.

@SigilFlavour text, but you would be able to spot the commotion from the hill if you were so inclined. Guards rushing about on a wall is hard to miss.

So, it looks like this will be a 1x1 until we get some fresh blood. Knight isn't responding to PMs, while being active in other roleplays, so I know he's seen them. Are you okay with running a 1x1 for now, @Sigil?

Gotta say, this tradition of people just vanishing without as much as a 'not interested anymore, bye' is very annoying.

@DMZ
I'm one of those stubborn types that hates to see things unfinished. Just means the story will move a little faster, is all. One lone magically-ignorant pugilist without weapons or armor in a Forgotten Realms campaign. This should be interesting.

Lay on, MacDuff; let's do this.

I appear to have overdone my recuperative fishbowl of single-malt prior to posting this last IC. Between this, and the night's musical selections of Ludacris's "Move Bitch" and Powerglove speed metal while composing this writing, I have layered on the cheddar somewhat immensely.

I may regret this, and fridge raiding of items of questionable expiration, in the morning.

Thank you and goodnight.

I'm looking at your post and honestly not seeing the situation in the same threatening way Keystone is. So many abilities that might help...

Ok, that last post - tactic here is to keep Tall & Gruesome from using his sword, and bypass him. Paladin obliterates the relatively thinner wall of skellys and zombies with Turning, and Keystone lands an short exchange of fisticuffs with the (hopefully) unarmed dead knight. This should keep all parties busy or incapacitated enough for us to get away. Bonus of punching a Death Knight (I'm assuming). Who all can say they did that?

Provided that the knight can't immediately recover his weapon, of course. If he can, we bank right and go out the way we came in, hacking and swinging, regardless of the higher density of bad guys. Then we look for a more defendable position. We're both constitute fighter-types, we can run a long way before tiring out.

@SigilYour assumptions are going to get you killed at some point. :P

You also make some...interesting assumptions about where the holes in the fence wards are, when I think I've clearly explained that there are barely any wards left.

Ah. I intuited from the description that the wards were weakened, but still somewhat intact except for where the horde broke through where it was already weakened (i.e. where we entered or where it was tested earlier), and where the big guy walked right through. With that in mind, the hole in the ward where we entered had undead actively spilling through it. With that mindset, the quickest way out would have been behind Mr. Happy and his Pulsing Sword of Impending Dismemberment.

To be quite honest, I read the description to say that the wards were in process of coming down, and where they were fully down it would be a hard fight to get through, possibly slowing us enough as to allow for our impending evisceration by the above mentioned Mr. Happy.

I am somewhat relieved to get the news that I misinterpreted the description of the wards. I still plan to try and snag the sword in the earth, but prefer now to make Plan B (going out the way we came in, where I am certain the ward is down) the new Plan A. It occurs with the Bracers active, even a little remaining ward is going to smart. The assumption based upon description here that we would be taking electrical damage from ward.
