Well, he's a vulgar guy.

To be fair, if the Death Knight's gluteus hasn't already decomposed away, it is likely in process.

@SigilHe is? Well, damn, today I learned.

Also, what is your outline here? I could decsribe the Red Wizard outpost in a short post, or you could explain to me in PM what actions you plan on taking, and I can reply with results for you to incorporate.

Well, there you've got me. I'm secretly a very vulgar person, vocabulary aside. I just use Keystone as an outlet. Don't judge too harshly, I come from an Irish family. :D

But to business: I was under the impression that the red wizard enclave had some plot importance, more so than the other places mentioned, so I held off posting about it rather than glossing it over. Aside from securing any valuables, I would like to play it straight with these guys, and only ask about Glith and the visions without giving up the source. Well, and sell the scrolls.

Short post then, I guess, to describe and I will react.

It came to me at work. My colleagues thought I was insane, cackling off and on throughout the day, and it refused to leave my brain until it was typed and posted.

Upside, I have an idea for a deity for my next game session here at home.

@SigilIt just seems so out of character for a monk.

Unless you are telling me Keystone is insane.

Also, I love how you focus on this one wizard, seemingly ignoring my previous post about the Enclave's population at any time :P

He is a very occidental monk, if the term monk can be assigned to him in the classical sense. Monk without a monastery, taking lessons from several, unaffiliated teachers. Maybe one day he'll go back home and start a school proper.

While not insane, Keystone is certainly impulsive when not in his sphere of competence. Most things magical fall outside of this sphere.

Focusing my attention on the one wizard, true. I figured his prominent position at the front meant he was a sort of information desk, as it were. It's why I was asking about where to go for information. If there are many such desks/booths/wizards hawking wares and hanging out shingles, it'd be a great idea to get his prices and then shop around a bit more. Like comic con, but with evil mages. Sounds good.

@SigilYou have now made it infuriatingly difficult to write for Kaylee. Holy shit, that mental scarring. Glith suddenly seems like a far better option.

Also, I was focusing more on the 'did not want to be the man dispatching such a wizard'.

Ah, Reverin. You had mentioned in an earlier post that his name was known in this city. Keystone is in an area surrounded by mages. If he was hated, working for him might not be something to share. If liked, choking him out also might not be something to share. Playing it safe until I know how he was viewed in Telflamm.

@DMZ
Despite the search, Keystone could not find a trace of the old wizard or its companion. None of the townsfolk even recalled there was more than one prominent wizard in town. Reverin was well known, but the name 'Erepar' only brought glassy looks upon people's faces.

EDIT

Now that it's out of the rest of the post, the quote looks more like you're talking about the survivors of the attack and not the whole of Telflamm. Is that the case?

@SigilAh, shite. I meant the Two Stars townfolk you escaped with, not the Telflamm cityfolk.

Darn it, I should elaborate things more.

@DMZ
CS edited to reflect NPC purchase of the Fireball scroll

I've decided not to edit in the bit about mentioning Reverin's ring, mostly because it doesn't matter financially. He can't afford 100 gp to get the dagger identified, so it's a safe bet that he can't afford it for the ring, either. (Started play sans finances, got 90 gp for the scroll.) Thanks for the clarification though, keeping in mind going forward.

I had given consideration to presenting it as a gift to the Xiang Grandmaster, if it was necessary to secure favor. Depending upon how long we're going to be in town, I was hoping to train on additional techniques. One in particular stands out.

Seeing as most of his options are eating into the presently nonexistent emergency fund, I'll resolve selling the scroll in my post for the next day. He'll just have to rely on his charming personality. In the meantime, he's taking that breather and headed back to the refugee Inn.

@SigilAha, you thought of that?

Well, I am sure there is some paying work to be done in a city preparing for battle, work that a monk in his prime could do for some extra money...
