[IC] Pokemon: Kalos

Liam went first. The official gave the usual speech about only the challenger is allowed the substitute and that both trainers can use two Pokemon.
Grant started with Onix. Liam sent out Jiraiya the Frogadier.
"Onix, start off with Bulldoze." Grant ordered.
"Water Pulse!" Liam called. Jiraiya was hit but through a ball of water at the rock snake, hurting it more then it hurt him.
"Bind!" Grant ordered. Onix wrapped its tail around the Frogadier. Jiraiya used another Water Pulse, this time confusing Onix. The rock snake hurt itself in confusion and was KO'd. Liam asked Jiraiya if it wished to continue, to which it confirmed it wanted to continue. Grant sent out Tyrant.

"Tyrunt, the Royal Heir Pokemon. Tyrunt is a Pokemon that lived 100 million years ago. If something happens that it doesn't like, it throws a tantrum and runs wild.Its immense jaws have enough destructive force that it can chew up an automobile."

"Tyrant looks cute and vicious at the same time." Liam noted. "You don't see that combination very often." Jiraiya was ready to continue.
"Tyrant, tackle!" Grant ordered. The prehistoric pokemon came running towards Jiraiya. The Frogadier smirked as he pulled back his fist. His coloration switched to a Marron-ish tint as he thrusted his fist into the Pokemon. Tyrant went flying back.
"I didn't know you knew Power up Punch, Jiraiya, you're amazing!" Liam praised.
Grant commented that he thought Jiriaya was one of those rare ones with Protean. "Tyrant, Draco Meteor!"
'Jiraiya, Ice Beam!" Liam ordered. Both attacks were fired off before being hit by the other, resulting in a huge explosion. When the smoke cleared, it was a double knockout. Because Liam still had one Pokemon waiting in the wings, he was named the winner and was issued a Cliff Badge. Grant healed his Pokemon, as well as Jiraiya. He was then ready for the next challenger and suggested that after this they go off to the nearby cave and see if they can find and fossils.

Ryan went next as he sent out Bancho. The referee began to speak but Ryan ignored him in favor of studying his opponent. He had sent out an Onix, which left him with a type disadvantage.
"Bancho, begin with Karate Chop." Bancho rushed after the Onix when he heard these words and threw a mighty Karate Chop. The Onix attempted to dodge but it was too big of a target and it was hit.
"Onix, get out of there and use Rock Tomb!" Grant called out as Onix slithered away. "Don't let him trap you, use Work Up and bust out of that cage." Bancho began to look visibly excited as it used Work Up and a cage of rock formed around him. "Arm Thrust now!" The cage burst open and Bancho came rushing at Onix with one last Karate Chop. He was hit and the mighty Onix fell.

Onix was returned and Grant sent out Tyrunt. " Bancho return. Go Leviathan." Ryan sent out his Snorlax as it let out a massive yawn. The battle began as Tyrunt charged Leviathan. "Leviathan use Body Slam." Leviathan rolled over onto the Tyrunt and just went to sleep. Ryan sighed as the Tyrunt struggled to be freed. It eventually passed out from lack of air. "Leviathan, return." Ryan rubbed his forehead as Fuma and Oberon snickered at the events that just occurred. He was awarded his badge and a very tight handshake from Grant as his Tyrunt was being healed. He walked out of the arena and let out a breath he had been holding. "I think I'm going to cause every gym leader to hate my guts."

Shiranui was last and thought up a strategy after seeing Grant's battles. The referee recited the gym's battle rules and Grant deviated from the strategy he used against Liam and Ryan. "I choose Amaura!" A light cyan sauropod made its appearance and Shiranui scanned the dinosaur.
"Amaura, the Tundra Pokémon. This ancient Pokémon was restored from part of its body that had been frozen in ice for over 100 million years."
"Yoto, I choose you!" Shiranui drew Yoto from the sheath on his back and threw the shiny Honedge into battle.
"Amaura, Take Down!"
"Yoto, Gyro Ball!" Amaura charged at Yoto and to Shiranui's surprise, Yoto was hit for minor damage due to resistance. He looked up Amaura on his Pokédex.
"Amaura's ability: Refrigerate. Increases the power of Normal-type moves by 30%. It then changes those moves to Ice-type."
Yoto spun around really fast and struck Amaura blade first for some heavy damage due to exploiting a double weakness.
"Amaura, Take Down once more!"
"Yoto, time for a Shadow Sneak coup de grâce!" Yoto phased into the ground and Amaura, itching to charge at the sword again, was struck from behind. The attack knocked Amaura out.

Grant switched the downed Amaura for his Tyrunt—a Pokémon Shiranui had expected to face. "Tyrunt, Bite!"
"Yoto, Gyro Ball!" Tyrunt charged in and bit Yoto on the hilt, the damage being major thanks to the dinosaur's Strong Jaw ability. Yoto spun around really fast and like with Amaura, the Honedge struck Tyrunt with his blade. The damage was not as severe, but it was major and left Yoto exhausted.
"Tyrunt, finish that Honedge off with Bite!"
"Yoto, Shadow Sneak!" Yoto phased into the ground and struck Tyrunt from behind. Tyrunt turned and bit Yoto on the blade, leaving the Honedge knocked out. Shiranui ran in and sheathed the fallen Honedge before taking his place again.

"Hana, I choose you!" Shiranui sent out his Floette and the final round was on.
"Tyrunt, Bide!"
"Hana, time to use that new move we worked on! Dazzling Gleam!" The flower sprite sprung into action and let off a flash of bright light. The hit was critical and Tyrunt was blinded into a knockout. Shiranui won his Cliff Badge and was soon back with the others.

"Well, I say we go look at that cave after a stop at the Pokemon Center." Liam proposed.

[Flood]

Ryan nervously glanced at Grant. " Yeah, let's do that. Take your time really." He said as he walked to the Pokemon Center with them.

Liam climbed down the rock wall. Once he and his friends were down, he went to the Pokemon Center.

Shiranui leaped down and went with Liam to the Pokémon Centre where he had Yoto and Hana healed.

[Flood]

Ryan got his Pokemon healed and then smiled. They did great jobs today, he was quite proud of them.

Shiranui looked at his map and found the cave Grant mentioned was called Glittering Cave and there was another town to go through before getting there.

"Well, we should probably get a move on then." Liam said.

[Flood]

" Yeah." Ryan responded as he vaguely considered whether it would be worth it to not go cave exploring with them. Grant really seemed to dislike him after that stunt with the Tyrunt.

"Indeed," Shiranui added, folding his map back up.

"Well, lets go on a fossil hunt." Liam proposed.

Shiranui was excited about hunting for fossils after battling a Tyrunt at the local gym. He left the Pokémon Centre and remembered from his look at his map that Route 8 was mostly a walk on top of a cliff with a couple of beaches at the bottom. He hoped his friends were not acrophobic.

When the heroes got to the exit to go on the proper route, he saw a man who said to ride a Rhyhorn on the path for safety reasons. There were a few Rhyorn left. Liam thanked the man and got on a Rhyhorn.

Shiranui mounted a Rhyhorn and started thinking about how different it was to the Pokémon he rode on before.

[Flood]

Ryan mounted a Rhyhorn as well but quickly realized that Fuma had nothing to ride. "Fuma, think you can fit on this big guy with me?" Fuma nodded and carefully climbed on. Oberon just looked really disappointed by everyone as usual.

The trio of Rhyhorn carried the heroes to the cave entrance. "Here we are, I hope to find a Tyrunt's fossil in here."

"Same here," replied Shiranui, "I'd be happy with either one."

Liam entered the cave. It was darker then he expected. Luckily for him and his friends, Liam had a flashlight in his bag. He pulled it out and turned it on.
