Relax guys, it's just a Roleplay. I've pulled some(more like a lot of) similiar stuff before. Of course, I do take into account some things that people alert me about, such as 'the nips didn't allow foreigners back then' and all that. Usual stuff. I guess I'll go see what's truly wrong after I write this post and re-read instead of just skim through.

Here's a thought, you know why the author set his anime about an italian mafia in Japan? Because he's Japanese, Japan is his country, it's the culture and locations that he knows and can thus integrate into a setting more or less accurately because he lives there. Not just because he thought it'd be cool to set it in Japan because other works set it in Japan.

You're actively shooting yourself in the foot here and letting go of a workable idea because you absolutely want to set it in Japan when it doesn't make sense for it to happen there and when you can't really work with Japan as a setting, by your own admission, instead of making up your own country where all of these issues would be moot, man.

So what if the thing isn't Historically accurate? Who the hell cares? RP's are supposed to be about fun for those involved. If you guys don't like it, then move on. And racist? Really, racist? Dafuq, really. I see no racism here. So what if he wants to have the families have European heritage? That's his thing. He can use that if he wants it. If the OP wants to have giant laser dinosaurs from space attack feudal japan, he can have giant laser dinosaurs from space attack feudal japan.

Ignore those guys. They just want to kill your fun. This is your thread - if they give you trouble just kick them out. If they won't leave, get an admin to do it. You are the OP here, and have the final say of things in your thread.

I for one, love this idea and would love to be a part of it. Please, don't give up on it because two people want to spoil your fun.

It's kind of sad to see this drop. The concept seemed interesting. The only real problem with the setting is that it is rather unoriginal, since so many RPs are set in Japan, because ANIME. Surprisingly, Europe is a rather rare setting for modern fantasy RPs. This RP would have been rather interesting and original if set in Europe. Also, what the hell is with you guys and getting mad about the concept not being historically accurate? It's called fantasy for a reason. He doesn't have to abide by the laws of reality, he doesn't have to be historically accurate, and he isn't racist for setting an RP in Japan.

And word of advice, ignore Hex. I've seen him around a bit, and all I can really say is that he likes being incredibly difficult, and questions the GMs every move.

So yeah, if you go with it, you'll still have my interest. Also, if you need help running it I'd be more than happy to help, if ya need it~

So, you have a problem with us criticizing setting the game in Japan, but you yourself say that the game would be better off set in Europe like I've been saying. I don't agree with Earnest Evans' whole "das rayciss" thing, but you're coming off as wanting to have the cake and eating it too, IE criticizing a simple and easily fixed issue that is clearly there while at the same time taking the side of the GM that's not happy about these criticisms because, IDK, you want to be in his good graces?

Oh I'm sorry, I'd rather point out things that don't sound right and try to engage in a discussion that leads to further setting building and polishing so we can all have a better game rather than just sit here and take a GM's words as sacred. But sure, I question every GM move ever, I'm sure that's why I've repeatedly had people ask me to help them with their games and setting and had someone tell me, and I quote, "you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and ...you actually think. Would you mind helping me out as my Co-GM?".

I'm not sure what "level" I reached in particular here. I haven't personally attacked you or called you a racist for not knowing Japanese culture, I've provided arguments as to why maybe this thing you're doing doesn't work too well and how incredibly easy it'd be to change it and how it'd help you run the game more smoothly because you'd be writing closer to what you know rather than trying to work with Japan as a setting, despite admitting a lack of knowledge about the country itself, while also avoiding more people coming up and going "hey setting this in Japan as-is might not be the best choice", like VariousNW has done.

Sure thing, have fun with your game bro, no hard feelings. But just for the record you haven't actually argued anything. You've said "but this anime I saw means this has to be this way" and completely refused to acknowledge any criticism, whether basis and reasonings were given or not, and that's 5 different people now (counting myself) who have been interested in your game but have pointed out that yeah this one little detail doesn't make a lot of sense and would be very easy to change.

The only difference being I've actually tried to engage you as a person by providing my line of reasoning and allowing for actual counterarguments or something as simple as detailing how these magical europeans conquered the Japanese underworld with their superior magics or something, you know basic world building so you have more than a loose idea. But I guess we can't have that.
