[IC] The Caldwell’s Academy of Magical Talents and Draconic Arts- Year 2

Thomas noticed that another student had fallen into the Academy. He walked over to the young man and spoke with a smile.
"Good day, young man and welcome to Caldwell's Academy of Magical Talents and Draconic Arts. My name is Thomas Skywalker and I will be your instructor. I hope that your landing was a good one. Does anything hurt?"


Inside Lady Violetta had checked and rechecked all of her notes about the new year. She was sure that her girls would be outside showing off their pets.. She smiled as she put on her cloak before heading out.

Nathan would offer a light smile to the man, pulling himself up, and saying "Hello there, Thomas, I am Nathan Grant..The landing wasn't optimal..But I will be fine." He would look around and ask curiously "Is this real..?" and then "Where are we..?" Looking quite uncomfortable.

His eyes would flicker behind Thomas, to the girls showing off their pets, his jaw would drop slightly, and then, to top it all off, a majestic cloak and a rather tall, important looking, yet elegant Headmistress would appear, causing his eyes to widen as he would stare back at Thomas in disbelief.

This new student seemed interesting to Elizabeth. She looked over to her as she introduced herself as a new student, someone who fell from the sky.

"We are currently less busy than we have been since the beginning of last semester," Elizabeth said. "I am Elizabeth. What is your name?"

"Ah...I see. My name is Aurora, Aure for short. It's nice to meet you, Elizabeth." Aurora would blink before tilting her head to the side slightly. "You said last semester? I guess that means you have been here awhile?"

"This is my second year here," Elizabeth said. "Seeing as how you just fell through the sky, you'll be enrolling as a first-year.

"Good day to our new students. My name is Lady Violetta and I am your Headmistress while you are here at Caldwell's Academy of Magical Talents and Draconic Arts. I do believe that all of the new students have arrived. Oh, yes... this little dragon is Personal Dragon. His name is Shadow Master. You will see him frequently with me. This is one of the pets that you may choose from. There are many colors of Personal Dragons and each has its own special talent. All of the you will learn in Orientation.

Please follow me inside to the Lecture Room on the Class room side." Lady Violetta spoke calmly and with a warm smile as she led the way to the Lecture Room. The Grand Doors opened as Lady Violetta walked up to them.

"This is the Castle's Grand Doors. They will open at your command after you have been registered with your PLTs. Unless it is after curfew. My Office is here and Thomas' Office is here. The infirmary is here should we need it. All doors are automatically close so that our pets do not stray off without us." Lady Violetta spoke as she walked through another door that had just opened.

"This Area is the Commons Area. There is the FLoating spiral Staircase. The Dining Room and a Student Lounge. Through this door to the right are the classrooms. This is the Lecture Room. Level One or New Students will sit in the front row. Level Two Students will sit in the second row." Lady Violetta spoke as she walked up to the podium.

"I'm sure you will get well acquainted with the Lady Violetta," Elizabeth said to Aurora. "You'll be quite busy adjusting in the following days, organizing yourself, but I am sure you don't need to hear it from me."

ElizabetH would walk beside Aurora to go into the lecture room. Hesiod would be beside her, traveling at her side.

Nathan would hear Lady Violetta, Thomas turning and following after the headmistress, Nathan would be inclined to follow, his eyes gazing at all the girls, murmuring quietly "Cute.." Before letting out a soft cough and moving on.

Aurora gave a small nod of her head to Elizabeth as they walked. She seemed to be busy examining the lecture room and taking mental notes of how she needed to remember to sit in the front row in the future. "...Organizing is not exactly my forté, but I think it will get easier with time and practice."

Ayaka walked with Mystique and Ruby to the Lecture room while Rikami walked at her side. She had to remember to give him a treat or two later for simply being good while not on his leash. Since Lady Violetta seemed ready to start the orientation, Ayaka found a seat in the second row and made sure her frost wolf was sitting next to her, which he was. She figured Mystique would sit next to her, though had no idea where Ruby would decide to sit, seeing as how he would have to be in the front row like the headmistress wants.

"There's no need to be too organized, just keep everything they give you," Elizabeth said.

She took a seat in the lecture hall that had empty seats beside it. She figured that what would mostly go on would be orientation. The lecture would be dedicated to the new students.

Nathan, quietly sitting alone, his eyes flickering quickly between everyone sitting down, his stomach sinking as it hits in "I am never getting out of here. This is no way a dream..I am in a painting?!" before he regains his composure, breathing heavily, a bead of sweat dripping down his face, and being absorbed into his skin once more, a strange cold breeze suddenly flushing over him "..Magical." he would think.

*Thud!* "Ah! Damn! That hurt! Agh! Ugh...", DJ thought after falling. He got up, stood up and rubbed his left hand over his right arm, to somehow enlighten the pain. Geh, I'll have trouble with that for the whole day... Wait a second, where am I?, he thought as he looked around. He was in a place that he had never seen, but somehow looked familiar. What the? What is this place? I'm not going crazy, am I? I know I was in the game store near my house to pick up a game. Then I... I walked past something while going out of the store. It was a picture. A picture of this place! To be more exact, a picture of this place, which somehow had me on it! How? Agh! This is hands down one of the weirdest things that happened to me, yet! What am I going to hear next? That magic is real? Would be cool, though. But that's beside the point. Nice for them to at least put me in the shadow of this tree. It's the small victories that keep me going.

Lady Violetta heard a thud on The Fall. She nods to Thomas who had heard the thud as well.
"Students, we have a new student that has just landed on the Fall. We will start the Orientation after he or she gets in here."

Thomas nodded back and left to bring the new student back inside. Once he was outside he saw the new student on the lawn.

"Good day, young man and welcome to Caldwell's Academy of Magical Talents and Draconic Arts even thugh you are slightly late. My name is Thomas Skywalker and I will be your instructor. I hope that your landing was a good one. Does anything hurt? If not, lets hurry to the Lecture Room for the Orientation Lecture." he spoke warmly to the young man.

"Hello sir! Umm... Nothing hurts, anymore. My right arm did, but it seems to be gone. So, let's just go then." , DJ said to the man named Thomas standing in front off him. His thoughts, while walking, were more in line with: "He said 'Magical Talents and Draconic Arts'... Magic is real? Okay, I must be really far in to a dream or something, because I'm pretty sure magic doesn't exist. And my brain is also evil towards me, so... It would make sense for my brain to mess with me like this. Falling through touching a picture? Ha! Absurd! Wait a minute, I had pain. I never have pain in a dream! So, I am awake? What? He asked to Thomas: "Is this real? I heard you say 'Magical Talents and Draconic Arts'. So, if this is real, magic exists?

"Yep. it exists. if you were here earlier you could have talked to several Level Twos. They even had their mythical pets with them." Thomas took him through the Castle without much commenting for he was not a talker and figured that DJ could figure out things rather quickly.
"Lady Violetta, this DJ. Please have a seat in the front row with the other Level Ones, please." Thomas spoke then stood off to one side.
"Thank you, Thomas. Now for Orientation.
Again, welcome to Caldwell’s Academy of Magical Talent.. You are few students who are strong enough to make it through the Picture. You have a magic core that can make you great Wizards and even Mages in the future. Your Magic Core will be your main tool in this Academy. There are other tools that you will learn to use as well.
You will become interesting people who will travel this new world and explore the other land masses. A few will stay home and be part of The Academy Island. I will need a Governor and an Archives Specialist to help me with my job. There will be more jobs as more students show up.
Any questions so far?” Lady Violetta asked as she glanced around the room.

Ruby had handed the firecat back to his rightful owner and followed Lady Violetta through the hallways and into the lecture room. The entire time, his heart was pounding and he could swear that he was breathing incredulously loud, but that was likely in his head due to the anxiety. He really couldn't believe he was doing this -- looking around, he could tell there were other new students besides himself. From the looks of it, it included a girl and two other boys.

Listening to the speech, he occasionally glanced back at Ayaka and Mystique, almost subconsciously. He asked no questions and waited further instructions and explanations -- right now, this was far too exciting to pass up.

Nathan would remain quiet, sitting on his lonesome, watching the headmistress as she spoke, flashing a light smile as her eyes surveyed them all, and when she would look away, his smile would quickly fade. His mind would drift off at the any questions, his mind still racing a million miles an hour. "Just like Harry Potter.."

Orientation Lecture

“I want to speak a bit on Magic and its uses. I want each of you to listen to this carefully.
Magic is a tool that can be used for good or evil or anywhere in between. The magic user must be aware of what he or she is doing and why. There are consequences to using magic. Consequences can be devastating if the magic user is not aware of all of the effects of the magic that is being used.
The magic user is only as strong as his or her body’s endurance of the physical and mental abilities.
A) Physical Strength.
The magic user is only as strong as his or herself. Magic takes a lot of stamina to do and the body will be drained constantly when the person uses magic.
B) Mental Strength.
The magic user must be able to concentrate well, visualize well and think clearly as well as quickly. To do this we need to meditate and do mental exercises to make the mind stronger. Meditation is crucial to one’s mental ability. This is the way one learns how to concentrate, block out unwanted noises, keep the mind clear of intrusions and to imagine the impossible.
Knowledge.
The magic user must be able not only use magic but know the 3 parts of magic.
1) What is the first part. The magic user must know and understand what he or she wants to do with his or her magic.
2) Next come How. The magic user must know each step of the magic well enough to actually be able to visualize the magic being done in each step until it becomes as simple and routine as breathing.
3) When is the last part. To cast magic the magic user must know when each step should take place.

An example of this is putting your shoes on.
What would be the need to put on shoes to protect your feet from anything that would do them harm or make them uncomfortable, ect.
When would be like when you leave to go outside not before going to bed.
How would be putting them on your feet before tying them and to have the socks on before you put the shoes?"
Lady Violetta puts on gloves as she speaks and begins to pass out several boxes to each person.
“Each person will be given robes to protect themselves while in class. The robes are of the magical sort and will stay clean. The equipment belt is issued to each of you. Each belt will have two pouches and two slender tubes. One pouch will be used for your own snacks and the other one will be for snacks for your pet. One sleeve will be used for your wand and the other one will be a guide stick for your pet. Always wear your Equipment Belt. And please get the extra pouches for your PLTs and Grimoire
The next box you may open at lunch break. It contains a cell phone. Each box has a room number on it and that is your room number. To record the number of friends, you simply put the heads of the phones together and instantly the phones exchange numbers.

Your next two lessons should be fun ones. Each of you will receive a Personal Laptop System or PLTs. Your Personal Laptop System or PLTs will be a valuable tool.
You will have an independent study to fulfill called Mythical Creatures. And you will pick out your very own baby pet to study and care for.
Before anyone asks- NO. No you cannot use it to talk to anyone on Earth because it will not reach that far. We are in a different Solar System than the Milky Way.”
*Hands out boxes with gloved hands*
“DO not pick up these boxes until you are told. They are super sensitive to touch. In fact, believe it or not, these LTPs are sentient. That means that it can think and feel on its own. I want to have you to be the first ones to touch them barehanded and imprint your aura on your own laptop. After your initial Imprintation, the PLTs will only work for you.
Now that each of you have a box, you may open the box carefully and do not drop it.
The case is opened from the front like so. When it is open, you will see the screen, the keyboard, and some new features. Keep the protective sheets on the areas when they are not being use will make your PLTs working at its peak. For the moment, please remove the two handprint sheets then place your hands on those two pads like the picture that was on there. Leave your hands on the pads so that the PLTs will register your unique Aura. After that is properly done, your PLTs will only allow you to enter information on it. You will know that it is done because it will begin to ask you a series of questions starting with your name, age, gender, the number on your cell phone, likes and dislikes.
I will wait until everyone has imprinted the PLTs and filled out the questions.

These items can only be used on MC- which is Magical Current, not AC which stands for Alternating Current or DC which is Direct Current. For that reason, any IPod, cellphone or other gadgetry that might have come with you, will not be able to be recharged. You may purchase compatible substitutes at the General Store when we go to the Village. Just remember that on this first trip to The Village, everything is free. You will have to purchase things after this trip.”
After you have filled out those questions, you may open the folder up called Mythical Creatureology. You will find all of the pets that you may have along with a short description.”
“Now click on the folder that is called Mythical Creatures. Here you will look through the pet list to find a pet that interests you. After lunch we will go to town and you will be getting a pet of your own. I also have a list of items for you to purchase through your student account.
You will go into town for your new pet. I have a book located in the PLTs for you to scan through to see what you may have. Please choose wisely for you will need to be able to handle the pet for the rest of its life. They are sentient creatures. They will be either your friend or foe. You will have fun with them; have a lot of frustration, and work. Physical and paper workwise. In this book is an example of each creature and what is known about them. There are recommended tips to use. Each week you will turn in your paper work to me. However, we do not use paper here for normal work. Each of you a now have the specialized laptop. You homework will be on that laptop as well as your book will be in the case.
While everyone is looking at the pets, we shall have a break then we shall speak about the jobs and careers that you may want to consider." Lady Violetta spoke warmly.

So magic is real. It's weird to think that that isn't the weirdest thing to me. The picture was definitely weirder and because of that the revelation that magic is real, isn't that interesting., DJ thought. After Lady Violetta gave him and some of the others in the room boxes and told that we can open it, DJ opened it. DJ took one of the boxes and looked inside. Gray robes, the equipment belt and the cellphone she was talking about. Huh., were his first impressions. He checked the cellphone, which had a 6 on it. He put on the equipment belt and the robes. The robes went from grey to azure. Huh, nice! The robes changed color! And my favorite color too!, he thought. DJ then opened the next box, which contained the so-called PLT. He opened it and removed the handprint sheets on the PLT. He put his hands on those, till it was done registering. He then needed to fill out his name, age, gender, the number on your cell phone, likes and dislikes.

After he checked the pets. Nothing really interesting in general, but the Arcane Hound got his interest. "I'll need a lot for it, including an instrument. I'll probably take an ocarina then. It would be like Link from Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time., DJ thought.
