@Aristo

Yo boss, when Cecilia says wait until they get past the bridge, does she mean once they get on from their side? Or once they pass our side?

EDIT: Nother quick question, where would you say a pilot hatch is on a Drek? The FM wiki doesn't say for Wanzers.

When they pass over the bridge on our side. I whipped up a master-quality diagram for reference:

P is for Panther - That's us hidden in the trees. When the convoy passes over the bridge to the left, Bernie's going to blow it up, denying them a backwards escape route, and then a few of us will cut them off at the front.
I guess it would have made a bit more sense to blow the bridge before they crossed and cut them off at the rear on the other side, but we'll go with what we have!

The hatch is in the center of the chest; let's go with the rectangular 'slot' in the middle of the picture:

I look at posting something sometime later today but it seems kinda odd no one has taken the initiative yet.
If something comes up I probably won't bother typing by phone but I should be able to get around to it. I just have this feeling that I'm forgetting something important today...

Edit: BTW, where would you suppose the "laser target designator" would be placed on zaruga; Torso, Head, An Arm or Somewhere else? just asking.

Might I just say that we're attacking a convoy from both sides? I don't think that you'll be able to really 'get behind' the cargo, since we're already all around the convoy, with guarding mechs presumably all around them. So you can't really get 'behind' the cargo to use it as cover, because you'll still have guys all around you. And since mechs are taller and larger than a normal truck, I don't think you could effectively hold yourself up against a truck and be relatively safe.

And they might just fire anyways.

I just thought it'd be really damn weird if ALL the defenders were only on one side of the convoy, and we're spread out all around.

There are twelve of them, so probably six on each side of the convoy. Obviously, it would be more efficient for them to turn to engage us on their nearest side so they're not facing the trucks. However, with a couple of us Cecilia mentioned skirting out of the trees to block off the road, we might be able to cause some confusion and screw up their lanes of fire. The trucks probably aren't going to sit around and wait to get slagged either; they've hit the gas by now.

We've got the Dreqs surrounded and ambushed; unless we've got our hands in our pockets, we should have a relatively easy time.

According to my post, it could be said that one's completely down, and another one is too disabled to do anything useful, whatwith missile and rockets.

One of the skaters also took out one, so it could be assumed that three hostiles total are already down.

Anyone else gonna post?

POSHTEHS!

The faster we all post, the faster we can get around to Juppy pointing out that he got the first kill. Hard to beat somebody that had fired a missile before anyone else had been able to really open fire, yeh?

And then he can get chewed out and everyone will give him the look and we can all get upgrades.

Sorry. Have an exam tomorrow that I've been studying for. Once that is done and the weekend is upon me I'll be sure to post.

Don't push yourself to post at the cost of something else as there will be time to.

Edit:
I'll also weigh on the truck issue:
If the trucks were going in 2 lines and one could manage to get in middle of them it just might be possible because the FRAMEs we pilot are 4.1 Meters for Zaruga and 4.3 for handou. Here are dimensions for a normal truck in meters:

So at least the height should not be problem (unless dreq was much larger). It is true though that one can't get "behind a truck" if they go in a single line.

Edit2: for Dreq size, I got a picture of it next to a excavator facing the camera. this particular is for a specific character and unlike other such mechs would, he carries melee weapons.

(could not find pictures with measurements for excavators)

Edit3: I have no authority over FRAME sizes but I confirmed the former sizes from OP and it corresponded with source so I thought it was worth the effort. @Aristo can correct Dreq size if it should be different in universe and what @Aristo says will be how it is.

Eh, it's okay. I don't think my posts have been great lately anyway. I've been in a bit of a rush getting them up due to lack of time.
I'll edit it this evening when I'm home from work and I have more time to make it better quality.

I posted before about not getting the Dreq (Wanzer form FrontMission) Size but I went to the wikia (is that really the only FM wiki?) just to check if I could find anything there and on the article about "Wanzer" it is stated that "...Tend to be around 5.5 meters tall, and on average, weigh roughly 25 tons." (source)
I just did that to get more data but if @Aristo wants it to be of different size, it still no concern of mine.

For the purpose of the RP, most mechs that I incorporate 'out-of-universe' will be scaled down a little. So Dreqs are about 4.5 meters; just a tad larger than our own FRAMEs. Our mechs, based on Heavy Gear, have pretty much retained their canon specs. There's a big discrepancy between tonnage in Gears and Wanzers as well, so I decided to use the former.
The Scopedog Armored Trooper of VOTOMS weighs in-between 6.3 to 6.6 tons and stand around 3.8 meters. ATs and Gears are so similar and fit my vision of FRAMEs so well that we're using comparable specs.

Uh, oh; Cecilia's shouting again...

Not at Harold this time.

@Silverwind BladeI think your posts are groovy; no need to worry!
@Commodore RobotNo worries, good luck on your exam!

Also, going through the posts and reading both confirmed and inferred kills, we've dropped around four to five of the Dreqs so far.

I'm glad you think so, I haven't thought they're too great yet. Probably just still trying to find my character, and get established in the setting. I'm happy with my edits to the post though.

Also, regarding the mecha, if you're using Heavy Gear as inspiration for the FRAMES as far as the ground-based side of things go, I'd also recommend Dream Pod 9's other mecha game for space-based machines in a similar aesthetic - Check out Jovian Chronicles for some more sweet-ass designs.
