[] Standard roleplay and Guild rules apply.

[] There are few things in RP I hate more than ghosting. Commit to the game before you join. Think about your schedule. If life hits you suddenly when you’re in, then please let us know and we can try to accommodate you.

[] This is a Casual game with a moderate pace, which means about 2 posts per week, of a few mid-sized paragraphs, for the primary characters. For secondary characters, a common sense approach to posting rate and length when they jump into the fray. I’d like you to feel at ease and active when playing in this game.

[] On secondary/supporting characters: their transient nature is the advantage for time-pressed players. You may choose to hop into the story when you have something to contribute, move along development, and leave when it’s finished. You are, in effect, a plot prompter. Go ahead, mess things up for the core players or have more than one character. If you’re intending to stay on for the whole ride but as a character that’s not a band member, then have a chat with the GM and apply using the Primary Char CS.

[] 70% sandbox : 30% GM = every player must actively contribute to the plot progression, i.e you create events to happen, you craft the environments, and you follow the GM prompts. I will PM you if you’re only a passive/reactive player. “Yes, and,” is a good motto.

[] Communication is key - with your fellow players and the GM - for a woven story. OOC chats about character relationships, plot twists are strongly encouraged (read: I will side-eye Broody McLoner).

[] Therefore, please read what other players have posted IC about the surroundings, the story arc that they might have started - reading comprehension, understanding implications, and details are important. This isn’t a game where the GM will post IC and you’ll need only to follow the GM. It is a back-and-forth rally in storytelling.

This is fuel for drama i.e. secrets that could raise hell for your char if exposed. Go wild. e.g. they slept with a bandmate’s mom… and sister… not at the same time, maybe. Or they got into a huge brawl with each other and neither talks about it again, but their friendship has become strained from the elephant in the room.

It needn’t always be serious, it can be funny and trivial but there might be consequences. eg they dropped their bandmate’s dental floss into the toilet and didn’t replace it with a new box.

As stated in the About/Expectations section, players are free to create and shape the world as they like. It is a collaborative experience between everyone and you can write something that the GM and other players will assume to be canon. Anything out of bounds will be notified by the GM, so don't worry, you will be pulled back to safety, so to speak.

Anyone can start up a post for the current scene. Requisites must be fulfilled before we can move on to the next situation. Anyone can trigger the requisite, optional or other events within the current context. You can kick off a new arc in the current scene that we can make use of later on.

Events are likely to be updated on a weekly basis.

BACKGROUND

• The band is performing live at The Amp as the headlining act on a Thursday night, thanks to the prodigious skills of band manager Anita Jones. It is your first major gig as a team.
• The Amp is a top five platform in the city for bands to jumpstart their rockstar-dom. Plenty of famous singers and bands have come through its doors as nobodies and somebodies. Talent scouts are always on the balconies watching for the next-big-thing.
• The premier venue has a capacity of a thousand people including guests. Ticket sales has not been outstanding, it isn’t a sold-out show, but there will be enough people for you to smell the sweat and shoulder your way to the bar. Mikayla has worked her arse off to spread word of the event on the interwebz.
• The green room provides refreshment, help-yourself drinks, and privacy before and after your performance.

Maybe instead of being a real friend she could be just a stranger stalker for now who fancies herself to have some form of friendship with the band. @Mivuli might come across your char in social media. Just throwing an idea out there :) change it as you will.

I've already got a basis for my character mapped out in my head, I'll hopefully be able to commit it to screen in about 45mins, anyway, I was wondering if she was going to be a friend of the band members or one or 2 of them before she became their manager or discovered them at a gig or something? This is aimed more toward those playing the band than anyone else.
