Hands folded neatly in her lap, Princess Kajade kept her eyes on her trousers, the first that she had worn in a long time. She began training with the guards again right before she left, getting permission from her parents of course. The guards had trained her and refreshed her memory on most of the weapons that she had learned with earlier in her life. Her dark brown hair was pulled up into a tight updo that would not be coming loose anytime soon. The carriage jolted as it rolled over a rock and Kajade quickly gripped the side of the doors. It lurched to a stop and the coachman opened the door.

"We're here, milady," he said. She nodded and grabbed the bow and quiver of arrows that was on the side of seat next to her. She swung both up onto her back and stepped out onto the soft forest ground. Looking around, she was reminded of the army camps that were out on the front lines. There was a campfire pit in the center of everything. There was a large cottage looking building, which was multiple stories. It was just back behind the fire pit and looked very homely. On the outsides of the fire pit were a few tents and a small cabin.

A mage walked forward, one that she recognized as her father's best advisor, and she smiled at him, curtsying to him. He bowed back and said, with a wave of his arm, "The cabin is yours, milady. Your father wanted it built for you, as you are the princess."

"Of course," she murmured, speaking for the first time over the day and a half journey. "Has anyone else arrived?"

"Not that I have seen, Your Highness," he stated. "I'm sure they'll be around soon enough." He gave her a kind smile and guided her forward, jerking his chin for the carriage to leave. The driver cracked his whip and the carriage leapt forward, leaving her behind. She took a deep breath. No turning back now.
