"So, shall we go show Lance how to catch a Pokémon?" Liam asked.

"Yeah sure I would like to learn from some seasoned pros" lance said excitedly

"Well, let's go." Liam said. Liam led Lance out into the tall grass. A Pochyena crossed their path.
"Poochyena, the Bite Pokémon. At first sight, Poochyena takes a bite at anything that moves. This Pokémon chases after prey until the victim becomes exhausted. However, it may turn tail if the prey strikes back. Poochyena is an omnivore-it will eat anything. A distinguishing feature is how large its fangs are compared to its body. This Pokémon tries to intimidate its foes by making the hair on its tail bristle out."

Liam recognized this as one of the Poochyena that attacked Birch. Liam called out Mudkip. "First you will have to weaken the Pokémon up." Liam said. "Mudkip, Water Gun!" Madkip unleashed a jet of water at Poochyena. Poochyena used Bite on Mudkip. "Tackle!" Liam called. Poochyena was hit and used Bite again. At this point, Liam pulled a Luxury Ball from his pack and tossed it. Poochyena was sucked in and caught.

Liam got the ball that held his new Pokémon and put it on his belt. He then pulled various kinds of Pokéballs from his pack. "I keep a wide verity of Pokéballs on me to show to new trainers." He explains. He then went on to explain every variant Pokéball, showing them to him. The only one he didn't show was a Master Ball, as he currently did not have one on him. He knew that Birch gave Lance some empty Pokéballs.

Lance had learned from Liam how to catch a Pokemon, "cool" lance said. He wanted to catch a Pokemon now too but something cool and mysterious.

"Well, since this is an open field, we are looking at: Pidgey, Ratata, Zigzagoon, Poocheyena, Starly, Tailow, and a few others along those lines." Liam said.

[pkken]

"Hmm" lance thought hard. All the choices sounded good but tailow sounded best to him. He walked in the bushes searching for tailow, he looked in the trees and saw some. "Come out treecko" lance said. Treecko came out " use bullet seed" treecko attacked the tailow in the tree but missed. The flock seemed angered and attacked treecko with quick attack. Treecko tumbled and regained balance. "You alright bud?" Lance said, Treecko nodded. "Alright use pound" treecko leaped in the air with quick speed and hit one of the tailow to the ground. " now bullet seed" lance ordered. Treecko shot at the tailow, injuring it.

Lance took one of the poke balls prof birch gave him and through it at tailow. Tailow was sucked in the pokeball, lance awaited to see if it was captured or not. It shook three times them stopped confirming a successful capture lance picked up the pokeball but the battle wasn't over. There were 2 enraged tailow left.

"Good job." Liam praised.

"Thanks" lance said happily. The other tailow were coming for treecko, "dodge it treecko, then use pound" treecko side stepped the first tailow and used pound on the second one. " now finish it with bullet seed" lance said. Treecko uses bullet seed but it didn't seem to have much effect on tailow. The tailow fled frightened by treecko. "That was awesome treecko" lance said has he praised him.

"So where do you guys plan on heading after here" lance asked Liam

"Well, Rustborro has a gym, I say we go there." Liam said.

[pkken]

"Alright then, sounds good to me" lance looks at treecko. "You did awesome get some rest" lance returned treecko to his pokeball.

"Well, first we have to pass through Oldale Town, Petalburg City, and Petlburg Woods."

[James Davy]

"There'll be some interesting Pokémon in those places," added Shiranui, "If you're lucky, you might spot a few rare ones here and there."

[pkken]

"Rare Pokemon" lance loved the thought that. He wanted rare and powerful Pokemon. "Lets get move on then."

"Honenn is also known one of the four regions that holds Pokémon Contests." Liam stated.

[James Davy]

"I plan on taking them on," added Shiranui.

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Well, this year they are holding a lot more contests." Liam said. "I believe the schedule says Rustborro will hold the first one." Liam said as he pulled out a Contest Rule book out of his bag. This book was second hand and had differently seen better days. He said that they had time to devise appeals using single Pokémon.

"I already have the very Pokémon in mind," replied Shiranui.

"That's good." Liam replied. He had an idea for one appeal.

"I never really thought about competing in contests but I would like to enter one some time" lance replied

"Whichever one is up to you," stated Shiranui.
