Shiranui handed Hoshi and Senritsu over for healing when he arrived with Liam. "Liam, our next destination is Mossdeep City, but it would be a while before we get there as Lilycove City is en route," he stated.
"Well ,we can take them." Liam said. A Chancey came by and set down a tray that held the Pokémon being healed. "Chansey Chansey!" She said with a bow before walking off. Liam picked up his Luxury Balls and put them back on his belt. "Ready?"
"Hitmonchan!" Liam called. Gabby and Ty sent out Magnezone and Exploud. "Mach Punch on Exploud!" Liam called. "Thunderbolt on Combuskin Magnezone!" one of the reporters called.
"Niwatori, counter with Flamethrower!" Hitmonchan started the battle with a swift punch on Exploud. Magnezone unleashed two bolts of electricity from its side magnets and Niwatori tried to counter with a Flamethrower attack, but the Thunderbolt was too powerful and the Combusken got zapped.
"Exploud, Stomp on Hitmonchan!" "Magnezone, Lock on Combuskin!" Exploud attempted to slam its foot on the Punching Pokémon while a crosshairs symbol appealed on Combuskin's belly. "Fire Punch Magnezone!" Liam called. The fire type attack, beefed by Iron Fist slammed into Magnezone dealing a critical hit and a burn.
"Niwatori, stand ground and use Protect!" After being targeted, Niwatori was prepared to block Magnezone's next move, which Shiranui figured was a powerful one.
"Use Thunder Magnezone!" "Boomburst Exploud!" The green shield saved Niwatori from the bolt of electricity, as well as the sound. "Jump behind Niwatori!" Liam called. Hitmonchan got behind the Combuskin, allowing the green shield to save him as well. The burn finished off Magnezone. "Hyper Beam!" "Ice Punch!" Liam called. Hitmonchan was hit with the blast. Explode was frozen solid.
"Niwatori, Brick Break!" The Combusken ran over and while he ran he started glowing, growing another metre in height. The glow subsided to reveal a Blaziken that gave Exploud a swift chop.
Exploud was distracted by the evolution, allowing the attack to hit directly and finish it. "Wow! That was Fantastic! I didn't expect anything less from a couple great trainers like the two of you." Gabby declared. She than asked if she could get their thoughts on the battle in no less than four words each. Liam said it was a "Good warm up battle".
