3. Bio:
Alex is a former ‘Guardian of the Rift’, a race of ascended humans that were granted the power of Riftology by the Goddess of the Rift. These Guardians were the sworn protectors of the land from ‘The Fallen’ – Gods that grew too greedy and sought to ravage the world in blood and war.
The Guardians acted as demon hunters, puppets that The Fallen used to wreak havoc on the human race. However, while the Guardians were powerful, they had not suspected a traitor among them that led to their downfall and the destruction of their home, Marble City.
Now, Alex walks the lands, seeking both revenge on the man who betrayed him and his people and to bring his vengeance to the Fallen himself.

With the power of Riftology, Alex is able to summon a rift creature, one that is formed with the use of Rift Crystals, a rare crystal that is now near impossible to find since their closure of the Rift Network.

Xavalzo

Name: Xavalzo Jal'Enko

Short Bio: Xavalzo was raised to be a thief by his father from a very early age. He was taught the ins and outs of crime, and quickly found himself picking pockets and stealing oddities. One day however his Father left him, and to this day Xavalzo still hasn't seen him since. His father however did leave behind a brass egg shaped contraption, which opens up and unfolds into a magnificent clockwork hawk. A golem if you will by any definition, forged metals and machinery given life by powerful magics. The young thief named his new found ruby eyed friend Vishko, and the two have been thieving together ever since. As he trekked along the rugged dirt path up to the Tavern, all he thought about were all the potential riches he would find. It is said if you truly want to find the value of something, place it into the hands of a thief. Xavalzo knew however that value meant more than just pure golden wealth. Treasures are not only special to those that find them, they were once special to those that made them too..

The Extended Original Backstory:

Xavalzo never knew his mother, or how he ended up in Siclus territory. One thing was made clear by his father though; that they were not welcomed in the eyes of the locals. His father never explained why they had to live within these swampy wastelands, but as Xavalzo grew older, he suspected that his father may have been hiding from something or someone. He never asked his father, and the few times he did, the old man would find a way to change the subject immediately. Life was hard for the young Xavalzo, and on occasion he went to bed hungry due to his father being unable to find them food.

The years would go by, just as sand blows across the dunes. Eventually, his father felt that his young boy was ready to take up the family craft. Just like every father before his in the Jal'enko family, he would teach him to be a skilled thief. Training was hard at first for the young thief, but in time he began to learn more and more from his father with ease. The key was to be quick and cunning. You had to keep an eye on your prize, but at the same time be able to keep greed from blinding your other. Xavalzo began to head out with his father, and they would steal from shops and marketplaces, pick the pockets of wealthy merchants, smuggle supplies for shady individuals, and all while doing so, attempt to evade capture. It was a thrilling life, and it taught Xavalzo the key to staying alive on the streets.

However, sands must settle in new places, and unforseen changes may result in ones life. For Xavalzo, it was his father leaving him. Before the sun rose one day, Xavalzo awoke to a rather empty hideout, filled only with a few days worth of food, and a handful of coins. Xavalzo knew the day would come eventually. After all, there is no honor among thieves, even if they are blood related. Though for a short while, Xavalzo sat in silence. He had never really truly been by himself before, and now he felt as if it was just him against the whole mysterious world that waited for him outside his door. He had read books about far off lands, and heard tales from his father as well, but the concept of being able to leave the Siclus region still felt so alien to him. Though, from the corner of his eye, he thought he saw something gleaming in the light from under a pile of rubbish.

Curiosity set in, so doing what only felt natural to him at this point, he dug it out. He held before him a brass egg, and discovered that beneath the egg was a letter. "Dear son," The letter began. "The time has come for you to begin your own path in this world. I raised you as best as I could, and I know you will be able to learn the rest from your travels. You are a Jal'enko boy, not some petty street thief. Remember that. We don't keep gold in our hearts, but we line our pockets full of it. Others may see you as a criminal in this world, or perhaps just another bandit who terrorizes the weak. Just remember, as a Jal'enko my son, you are no hero, you are no villain. You are now a man, a man who will see his future filled with riches if you stick to our code. Now I wish you farewell my son, and I am sorry to say that we may never meet again. I have gathered with a few of my old friends, and we're going to pull off our final heist. As one final parting gift though, I leave you with this clockwork contraption that my father had nicknamed the 'Crimson Crow.' He is yours now, and he will follow you faithfully along your journey. Be wary of where your travels take you Xavalzo, for not all roads will lead you to riches."

His father's words were hardly comforting, but it provided some form of resolution at least. His father showed some concern, but he knew all he wanted from him was to continue to add to the glory that was known as the Jal'enko family. In all honesty, he hardly knew who the Jal'enko family really was other than his father. His gaze set upon the brass egg as it shifted form into something else. Before him now was a beautifully crafted clockwork bird that stared back at him. Xavalzo felt a smile begin to form along his lips as he gazed back at the bird. He felt that the two of them would be able to strike it rich in this world, and that nothing would stand in their way from doing so. Several years of heisting and robberies went by and life remained a constant challenge for the two. He had been able to get by well enough ever since his father left, which was six years ago. Just as the sands settled however, they would begin to blow across the dunes once more, and change would find the thief soon enough. For not all roads lead to riches, but perhaps in the thief's eyes, he'd be able to discover a different kind of treasure. One that only comes from a good adventure...

1. Appearance: Zook is a Gnome, standing at 4'8". Handsome, with a short shock of bleach blonde hair on his head (which is actually a wig). He has magically altered his eyes to change colors, alternate and otherwise look intense, piercing, mysterious, otherworldy and other such adjectives. He has a small goatee that gives him a devilish look and a not-quite-perfect nose that may have been broken in a fight at some point. He dresses in fine, almost dandy-fied garb that is pretentious but maybe ironic? He carries an impressively crafted lute, a silver pan-pipe and a small drum that he keeps on his belt next to a flask of strong Gnomish spirits and a nasty looking dagger.
2. Name: "Zook" Thadlazook Ingvagest
3. Bio: born to a wealthy family in Braisden Knoll, a gnomish fortress city, Zook was on the path to becoming a wealthy merchant lord. Instead he became infatuated with the great Bardess, Zirkla and chased her around. His parents were appalled and decided they wanted nothing to do with him. Zook eventually joined Zirkla's travelling troupe learning the tricks of the trade, showmanship, music and theatre. Backed up by his aristocratic education, Zook soon surpassed Zirkla's skills as a performer and kicked poor Zook out of the troupe. Nonplussed, Zook fled Braisden Knoll in search of new lands to entertain.

Name: Edric Jaronus

Appearance: A 19-year-old half-elf with short, dark brown hair and green eyes. 5' 11", 135 pounds. He's not ripped, but he's not out of shape either. He wears a simple white dress shirt with a leather vest and a black, ankle-length overcoat, as well as suit pants and dress shoes. A short top hat adorns his head and he is never seen without his straight black cane.
Bio: A former member of The Order of The Serpent mages guild, he left with some friends once the inquisitors cracked down on mages. He and his friends split up to find a semi-safe and friendly place to practice the arcane arts, away from the prying eyes of the Inquisitors of the holy church. He believes he may have found that in the Lonely Tavern.
He led a fairly uninteresting early life, the only notable thing being his intense study of the art of Conjuration, which he mastered at age 14. He became one of few mages who are able to create permanent objects out of nothing but energy, he makes his money by conjuring weapons and tools to sell. He's no stranger to fighting, being in The Order of the Serpent. Suffice it to say that his hat and cane are quite magical, and quite effective.
Personality: Edric is easily bored and constantly looking for stimulation, which is why he throws himself into his Conjuring. He makes friends easily and can be quite funny when he wants to be. Something that confounds the people who know him best is how trusting he is, especially after what he saw in The Order of The Serpent's many skirmishes against the inquisitors. Despite being a situational pessimist, he easily sees the best in people.

Vala

Appearance:
At 5’9” and a smaller build, Vala looks like a typical Northern with blue eyes, blonde hair, which is usually kept up in a braid, and fairly pale skin. For the most part, her skin is rather free of marks and scars but there are a few exceptions. Right shoulder has a small scar from an arrow and a scar right around her right hip where a sword pierced through her entirely.

Weaponry:
Vala primarily uses a standard long sword with a rounded-shield for protection. As a backup, she has a knife. For variety, she is pretty accurate with a short axe, both as a primary weapon and a projectile.
Skills:
Vala comes from a Northern Longship and has established her sea legs and can handle rough waters. She lead men into the defense of said Longship and can help direct forces in battle. Her primary skill is her ability in combat, both with weapons and without.

Backstory:
Vala hails from Northern Coasts of Ecen, specifically a lonely island just off the coast called Marstal, and if you are living in Marstal, you probably either fish or sail for the navy. The sea always plays a big part of those who live on that tiny island and for Vala, she grew up just like any kid, craving the adventure that the older generations tell tales of. Of course when you finally get there, life at sea is a bit crueler and less dreamy than the tales.

It wasn’t too typical for women to join up with fishing crews, as there was no guarantee that your shipmates would have pure intentions, and in order to join the military ships, where things like that would never happen, you had to have at least a year of experience on the sea. So Vala sighed onto her Uncle’s ship where she was protected as her Uncle’s attendant.

After her year was up, she signed into the navy. Starting as a simple oarsmen, she eventually rose to the rank Master-At-Arms at the age of 21. Four years she went from ship to ship, not really settling down anywhere permanently. Unfortunately her time for the Marstal Navy was cut off after being exiled for kinslaying the very same uncle who took her in. Despite Vala's adamant attempts at justifying her actions, the Jarl found her guilty and demanded her casted out from the isles. The young Skjaldmær should consider herself lucky, though. Death is usually the preferred arrangement for kinslaying.

Name: Alia Flori

Bio: Alia was born to and raised by a local spellcaster whose wife passed away during childbirth. Alia discovered at a young age that she possessed the ability to use magic. Naturally, her father took it upon himself to teach her what he knew about magic. Unfortunately, he didn't really know much about magic, just simple spells like moving rocks and setting things alight. Alia learned all these spells with ease, and it became obvious that she had not even come close to reaching the pinnacle of her abilities. With no one else to teach her, however, Alia was unsure of how to hone her talent, nor what her limits were.

So, Alia said her goodbyes to her father and left home, looking for any other spellcasters who were willing to teach her. Time passed, with Alia looking for a mentor. Her journey was not without obstacles and perils, but Alia managed to learn how to fend for herself with both a knife and her magic. Eventually, she managed to find a spellcaster who definitely knew a lot more than she did. Alia asked the spellcaster to teach her how to be a proper spellcaster herself, and, after a rather tricky and cliche lesson, the spellcaster accepted.

A few years was spent with Alia under the spellcaster's guidance. In that few years, however, Alia learned very quickly about how magic was used, and how tricky it was to be the spellcaster's apprentice. Alia strove to succeed, and she ultimately did. The spellcaster finally admitted that there was nothing more to teach Alia, and they said their farewells to each other. Alia was left to travel again, but this time she had no destination. Alia decided that life was going to be full of surprises, so she might as well see what there was to surprise her with.

Name: Ember

Appearance

As a pixie, Ember is tiny. No bigger than a mug of ale, she can easily rest on the shoulders of a larger race. She is a good looking little lady but face is marked with red tattoos. Her wings are light and seem delicate but are easily able to lift her into the air. She dresses in simple, light armour of natural colours to blend in with the natural environment where she spends most of her time.

Bio: Like all her people, Ember is insatiably curious and often wanders off to inspect things that peak her interest. But Ember may actually be more inquisitive than a standard pixie. When she was still young, she became fascinated by a band of adventurers who wandered through her woods. She was so curious about them that she didn't even realize that she had followed them for miles until she came to her senses and found that she was lost. The band of adventurers, eventually discovering Ember, took pity on their tiny stalker and invited her to join them on their quest. They would even return her home when their work was done.

The adventurers were true to their word and returned Ember to her people. But Ember had discovered a taste for adventure. For excitement. Life in the woods seemed boring by comparison. So she decided to continue this fun new life and struck out on several adventures, both with her new friends and alone. It was while embarking on one such adventure that she came upon a tavern...

Apperance:
Pamela comes from a northern kingdom. People from northern kingdoms usually tend to have darker/tanned skin tones and shorter statures. (in the 5ft range). She has white hair, and brown eyes. Her hair is thin and reaches down to her abdomen. She braids it so it doesnt interfere with battle. She carries a short sword engraved with her language stating a blessing and a shield with roses engraved upon it.

Armour

Bio:
Pamela was born in the Kingdom of Elgera, in a snowy climate. The Kingdom was known for a temple which held valuable jewls and items and stowed away the bodies of fallen leaders. It had to be guarded faithfully by civilians. Pamela was one of the 5 guardians of the temple. In order to ensure safety, they sealed the entrance with blessings and blessed the guards themselves. (Explaining white hair, blessed items, etc.). Pamela left the Kingdom after her brother grew eligible to take her place. Now she roams the world doing as she pleases. Of course, its not that easy.

Unfortunately, her party leader died in a cyclops accident. All of her party members agreed to split off and choose their own paths. One of them got is cloak, the other his sword, another his shield, and her? She got a feather. A tiny feather. What could that do? Nothing.

[Guess Who]

Name: Duncan Ashwell

Bio:

Duncan is an assassin-for-hire who has successfully completed every job he's been hired to do. That may sound very impressive, until you hear that he's only done two jobs for the entire four years he's been an assassin, and one of those jobs was just helping an old street vendor move her produce from her home to her stall. Duncan had expected that, with how backstabbing and greedy nobles were, they'd be more than happy to pay for his services. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be the case as they looked more for experience compared to skill and reliability. So he's moved away from the city and towards the countryside, hoping to find some peasant that's gotten sick and tired of his neighbor planting crops in the wrong field or anyone else that'd be willing to hire him.

Duncan is experienced with swords, daggers, bows, and poisons. He's had training in various fighting styles including those created to fight magic-users, large monsters like giants, and heavily armored opponents like knights. Duncan refuses to ever fight anyone or anything though unless he's paid to first, and he'll only accept the pay if he feels it's a fair price.

Name: used to be called Blockhead.

Bio: block head is one of the race known as war forged. A sentient creation made by forging wood metal and stone, and of course magic. A two bit apprentice thought he could make a warforged for profit,which of course meant cutting corners. The apprentice made him with only wood and stone, and due to his poor understanding of magic Blockheads mental capacity Maching that of a naive ypung teen. After his creation he was sold to bandits who abused his underdeveloped mind and built in desire to follow orders forcing him to strong arm travelers, and for entertainment they beat him.

One such night while he was 'working' he noticed a lone wolf pup in the woods barking at squirrels. With the attention span of his young mind (or lack thereof) he blundered after the pup leaving the bandits behind.

The pup lead him to a large hollowed out tree occupied by the pups mother and the rest of her litter as well as an old druid woman. The old druid took him in especially seeing how the pups took to him and began teaching him the art of nature healing. He took to it strikingly well per his design to continually work. Throughout his time with the druid he developed moss on the parts of him covered in wood, and he also developed a strong bond with the wolf pup that lead him to his first friend, naming the pup kitten.

Three years later the bandits attempted to attack the tree but Blockhead had an overactive protective instinct, using his enormous strength he fought off the bandits along side Kitten. Despite his best efforts however his old friend perished in the brawl.

Blockhead along with Kitten eventually left the tree seeking to make new friends and protect them leaving his name and sorrows behind him.
