Laurie nodded "Pru has come visiting with some others. They're with the children" she said, putting the drinks on a tray to carry out

Prudence watched the children easily enough, playing with the youngest boy, Luke.

[Aristocles]

"I suppose that is so" Orna replied. "So, are we waiting for Marx to return? Tran and I are grateful that you had time for us to visit, by the way" Orna told Jammy.

Kos took a seat, not wanting to disturb the others.

"I shall have to greet them, then" Luca said, going to see Prudence, Sasha, Kosjurec, and the others.

"Why hello there, Prudence! I see Luke has taken a liking to you already. And who is this big guy?"

Kos got up and shook Luca's hand. "Kosjurec, sir. I'm Sasha's husband."

"Sir? Oh there's no need to be so formal around here. We're glad to have you over as a guest" Luca replied.

"he should be home soon" Jammy said, glancing to the door, before looking back at them. "I always have time for family" She said with a smile

"We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for their gate stone. It's amazing, transported us right here!" Prudence said eagerly, as Railing stood very still when a young, toddler aged boy came screaming in, stopping and looking up at him with interest

"I sure hope he cleans his claws before entering the room. You look like you worked hard to keep the floors all clean" Orna replied.

Luca turned to the toddler, but replied to Prudence. "The mage who made such a thing must be powerful indeed."

"he does" Jammy said, "Marx is quite good at doing that sort of thing" She said, brightly, rising as she heard the door open, Marx entering. She greeted him happily

Prudence looked to Kos, having no idea how a gate stone was made.

Railing stared down at the toddler even as he stared back at him, before kneeling down. It was unnerving to Railing that even kneeling, he couldn't look the child in the eye. And that the child seemed so soft and squishy. Dracon children didn't seem so...vulnerable.

The young boy gave a laugh, and reached out to tough Railing's skin, giggling at the feel.

[Aristocles]

Orna got to her feet and greeted Marx. "Oh. Hi there! Tran and I were just visiting. How'd your day go?"

"Well, the gate stone was made by my stepmother, Aerta." Kos explained.

Luca looked at the boy in front of Railing. "He's just curious. Don't mind if he touches you a bit."

marx didn't seem surprised to see them there, and greated them cheerfully, "Hi! Today has been like any other. Did you guys come in for any other reason, or just wanted to visit?"

"She's very nice, very giving and helpful" Sasha said

The toddler giggled some more, and looked about at the sound of his father's voice, giving a happy, loud sound and running over to him, in that way only a child good, a stumbling, leaping run that seemed at any moment to bring the child to his knees.

"Da!"

[Aristocles]

"Just to visit. Oh! Er... you do know I am carrying Tran's child, right?" Orna replied, unsure of who had been told.

Luca picked up the little toddler, cradling him in his arms. "Have you seen human children before? They're not quite as strong as dracon kids, but they can surprise you."

Kos nodded. "I have, but only a few times. Never up close."

"Well, I do now" Marx said cheerfully, "That's fantastic!" He said, thrilled, and he set his things down, "Did you just find out?"

Railing shook his head, "I haven't. You're children seem...ah. Energetic and...well. Not all that different from dracon children, really. Except in looks" he said, relieved that the child was now being held by his father.

"A couple of times, some human travelers needed new clothes. Their children did not like standing still and being measured" Sasha said

[Aristocles]

"Not long ago. Tran and I found out at the great temple" Orna explained.

"I'll bet. Children often don't like standing still. They need constant entertainment, it seems. Good thing they will grow out of it. I hope. Most of them do. Those who don't are problematic. Ah, I'd best set this little guy down. There you go, son." He set the boy down.

"They are energetic, but they aren't very tough yet. Gotta keep them comfortable. Good thing their mother does that" Luca said. "Humans have softer feet than dracon males, you see."

"Why'd you go to the great temple for?" Marx asked curiously

Laurie grabbed the boy before he could bolt outside "oh no you don't, Jacob, go on and clean up, there's a good boy. See if your brother will help you" she said, nudging the boy along deeper into the house

"They aren't all that fragile" prudence said, "just different in what they need"

[Aristocles]

(Yikes! Sorry Caits! I had work. And I am back now!)

"To examine whether or not I was with egg" Orna replied. "I am indeed."

"Indeed. And right now, they need to wash up. Maybe change their dirty clothes" Luca replied.

"They remind me a bit of my siblings, when I was about their age" Kos added. "Well, I guess we should all sit down?"

"That's wonderful!" Marx said happily, "ah, but wasn't there a ceremony on today?"

"Oh, yes! Please, do sit!" Laurie said, "The children will be okay, and the baby seems content in Pru's arms, so we shouldn't have much to worry about!" She said, ushering Jacob along, with Ben catching the four year old Sam, taking his younger brothers to the back of the house, to their rooms.

[Aristocles]

"Oh. Well, Tran and I kinda sorta maybe disrupted it a bit... but we're all fine now!" Orna replied, nervously.

Luca pulled over some chairs and Kos sat down in one. "So, if I may ask, how does a human family fit into the dracon realms? I don't imagine it is easy" Kos asked.

"It is hot, but once you get used to it, we find it isn't so bad" Luca replied. "Not as long as we work hard and keep the land well-maintained. I guess the lack of footwear is a it odd for a human, but I'm used it and the children don't seem to mind either."

"Oh well that's good then" Marx said, "are you staying for dinner?" He asked

Laurie gave a laugh, and said "the children would bath in mud if we let them, dear. No shoes aren't a problem for them" she said with amusement, smiling, and setting the refreshments on the table, before sitting down beside her husband.

"So you go barefoot all the time then? Most humans I've met do wear footwear" Sasha said with curiosity

[Aristocles]

"I suppose we are, if you will have us" Orna replied, smiling.

"Well, we've lived here for quite a while" Luca explained. "Even if we wanted shoes, we'd have nowhere to get them. Human travelers to our hands come with the footwear they took with them from their homeland, but dracons don't even know how to make those things. Or even why anyone would want them."

"It's true. We've never even bothered with that sort of thing" Kos confirmed.

"In any event, we have found that we fit in quite well here. As Prudence knows, dracons can interbreed with humans, but only if magic is used. And the offspring are only one species or another. There is no such thing as a half-human, half-dracon. All that being said, a human who used magic to sire or give birth to a dracon or the other way around might find some of their traits in the child, such as eye color" Luca said.

"Of course!" Marx said, Jammy nodded as well,

Prudence nodded "like with Laurie. Laurie looks exactly like our mother did, but has our fathers eyes" she said, hugging lysandra, enjoying holding her niece, "I think things like eye colour and that can be easily kept the same with magical transformations, but like you said, you can't have a half and half child." She said musingly, thinking out loud

[Aristocles]

"Great! What are we having to eat?" Orna asked, feeling a bit hungry.

"Certain other things besides appearance may pass down as well" Luca explained. "Human children who have a dracon parent also tend to like the heat, dislike footwear, and enjoy salty foods."

"I suppose 'salty' is a relative term" Kos mused, not sure what humans considered to have too much salt.

"Oh, well, I haven't had a chance to make anything yet" Jammy said, starting to the kitchen

"A suppose its got to do with what you grow up with" Sasha said musingly, "I imagine if we would think human food styles quite odd"

"Human food is, really, a tad bland although there is some good flavours there" Laurie said

[Aristocles]

"Great! That means I can help make something!" Orna replied, bouncing to her feet.

"Indeed. It's a bit bland. Still, we find many aspects of dracon culture to be very nice. You're not so uptight about modesty, as long as certain parts are covered" Luca noted.

"I guess so" Kos noted, suddenly aware that he was still missing his shirt. "I'm turning into Larek or Caex at this rate. Maybe even Veax" he told Sasha, patting his chest for emphasis.

"We also like the dracon gods. Well, I think they are interesting, but my wife loves them" Luca added.
