[IC] Magic the Gathering: Planeswalkers [JoPo/Royzooka] [18+]

[Royzooka]

The game of Magic the Gathering seems like a normal card game, but in truth is based on an ancient shadow game. Some of the cards in MTG are actually based on real cards and if played can change the way the game is played and understood though only those with planeswalkers ability can make this happen. The five colours are based on real places where these games took place and together create a terrible power, a power that was sorted by many but only a few have managed to get. The people of the past, the present and future are about to awaken and the shadow games will begin again. But this, time will it go too far or will it be controlled?

Its two in the afternoon and two people were in the middle of playing a friendly game of MTG in the kitchen which had a table big enough to play the game. The wooden oak table supporting their hobby over the years they have known each other and will continue to do so until the end. The matching oak chairs, oak flooring and general oak based kitchen was where the game was played if the house was empty. The natural light beaming in through one of the windows gave them the light they needed to play. The kitchen was all clean and neat as the two friends were in a heated battle of cards and fantasy. The room was a moderate temperature at this time. Various cards were on the table already, what was played depended on the deck that was being used.

12 life was all that Max Knight had at this time, her opponent tapping her creatures did not help her cause, with only five swamps on the field she was limited to what she could do. One child of Night, two Guul Draz Vampire, A Vampire Nighthawk, a Vampire Nocturnus and one Stormkirk Captain. She had three swamps, one mountain and one dual land She only had four cards in hand. A black card was revealed on top of her deck letting Vampire Nocturnus's ability happen which was stacked with Stormkirk Captains ability which helped other vampire creatures on the field. Nocturnus gave +2/+1 with flying and the Stormkirk gave +1/+1 and first strike. The problem was she could hardly hit her opponent, she could only get a hit in here and there.

'Maybe if I play this card I can get through her defence? I have the mana to play it' she thought to herself. The thing was half of her cretures were tapped so she could not do much though the ones that weren't were stll strong due to the boost. After a moment she tapped two mana, red and black and played Dreadbore where she chose to destory a creature that had a tap ability.

Lily had been doing decent with her tapping deck. She had 15 life while Max had 12. While Max had lots of strong creatures on the field, Lily was able to stop some of the creatures before they could attack. Lily was using Tamiyo, Dungeon Geist, and had two other creatures on the field that would detain a creature for a turn. Lily didn't have much creatures herself to attack with, but with tapping Max's strong creatures and drawing cards using Tamiyo's second ability, she was able to keep getting cards that she would tap and block with when needed.

Lily had a counterspell in her hand, which she could have saved, but instead of saving mana for it, she used the mana left to summon Roon of the Hidden Realms. It was a very nice card she could use to flicker her own creatures or Max's creatures in order to stop some damage from being dealt. While Max had been struggling on land a bit, she had 3 islands, 2 plains, and 2 forests. She had enough cards on the field to deal with anything Max could do. When she ended her turn, Max cast Dreadbore on Dungeon Geist, destroying the one card that had been permantantly tapping Vampire Nocturnus.

"Well fuck", Lily thought to herself. "Had I kept that mana open, I would have two of his creatures tapped. So stupid of me. Well at least Vampire Nighthawk is tapped due to Tamiyo's ability, but Vampire Nocturnus can attack and with on was revealed on her deck, looks bad for me."

"Well that was a bad play on my part," Lily said out loud. "Hopefully I can have enough life to survive this turn." THe other two creatures on the field had already done their ability and didn't have flying. Thus, Lily could block some of the creatures coming at her if they didn't have flying, but most the vampires on the field did have flying. This was going to hurt for Lily.

"You have been controlling my deck since you put the second mana down so maybe this will be the end. If the next card is black it might be. Here goes." When her turn began to untapped all the monsters and mana she had. She then picked up the black card that was face up on her deck before adding it to her hand which followed with her flipping the top card. 'Come on black' she thought to herself. The moment of truth was about to happen, she felt a little tense as this could possibly win the game. When the card was turned over it was one of her dual coloured monsters, Stormkirk Captain. A small smile crossed her face as she looked at all the mana she had at her command. Nocturnus would still be buffing her little friends which helped.

She did not attack right away as she looked at her hand to see what she could do, she could overkill with another Stormirk Captain. The only other cards in her hand were a lightning bolt and a one mana cost vampire. Her eyes quickly gazed over the battlefield before gazing back at her hand. She soon picked a card and soon tapped her only mountain card she had to cast her spell. She soon placed the lightning bolt spell card down so her opponent could see it though she probably knew what it was already. When she did place the card down she felt a slight shock which made her drop her spell somewhere on the field. "What the......" she said. What was that she wondered?

She soon quickly looked at the lightning bolt, it looked kind of weird as if it were real, no longer static yet bound to the image it was in. She gazed at the card for a moment before trying to touch it once more though it did not shock her this time. "Lily, did you see that or am I going crazy?" Max eventually picking the card up once more though when she did a bolt of lightning suddenly appeared in the kitchen causing a black mark on the left wall next to them. 'I must be dreaming, this is not real.... How could it be' she thought to herself.The lightning bolt spell was dropped once more as Max stood up all freaked out by what just happened.

She instantly pinched herself to see if she was dreaming but she could feel the pinch, so this was real, so very real. Her body language showed how surprised she was at this time. Max's eyes soon rolled over to her best friend to see what she was doing at this time, was she freaking out or did she think Max was acting like a crazy person.

Lily was beating herself up over her last play. She knew she should have saved her mana, but had been doing well the so match, getting a bit cocky and reckless. It was even more apparent when Max played Bolt, which could destroy just about any creature she had out. Lily grimaced at what Max was about to do and looked away. She imagined her saying who the target was with bolt, and then swinging all her creatures. She opened her eye a bit to see what Max was doing. "Uhhh why haven't you continued with your turn? I have nothing I can do against what you have since I tapped myself out."

"See what Max? Mean me losing due to bad plays on my part? Yes I do see that." Lily wasn't sure if Max was trying to be an ass or just joking with her about the current board. Max picked up the bolt card, but when she did, lightning appeared in the kitchen, striking the left wall in there. Lily was startled when she saw that. "What just happened? That couldn't have been from the card you used. Magic the gathering is just a card game." Lily looked over at Max. " This isn't some real elaborate joke you trying to pull on me is it? Would be wierd if it was, but just don't see how a card could do all that damage. It just isn't possible."

"I don't know, a bolt just happened to appear and strike the wall to the left of us. Magic the Gathering is a card game, I mean what else could it be? If this is a joke it is a very real or very FX based one that I am unaware of. Maybe we somehow got high or drunk......" Max looked around the kitchen to see if they were drunk or high but she could not see any bottles, can, glasses or cups. Heck, not even a plastic bag of weed prompting her to check herself to see if she had any on her though why she did seemed strange. "Uhhhhhhhh maybe we are just imagining things, maybe that damage to the wall was there but somehow forgot...... Yeah, that must be it as this is as you said a card game." Maxine soon moved closer to the table once more to finish the game if she could. Taking a few deep breaths before touching one of her creature cards on the field.

Two fingers were placed on Vampire Nocturnus and for a moment, everything seemed normal but as she turned the card to attack Lily's directly something else happened. A figure appeared in the corner of the room, an unnatural darkness appeared where the figure stood. Max was unaware of it at this time as the figure was in her blind spot. The darkness had a sinister air about it, just looking at it gave off an eerie vibe which would follow with a chill down one's spine. Max soon froze for a moment as she heard something, she could hear something like it was talking but it was not coming from around the room it was coming from inside her head. At each passing moment, she began to freak out though what happened next would freak Maxine out though it would mostly freak Lily out more.

From the corner of the room, the figure sprung from out of the darkness and towards Lily. The figure was quick and seemed like a blur, something was heading towards Lily though Max's two fingers were still on her creature card. The sounds she heard quickly forced her to stop her attack by turning back to its default position. The figure quickly retreating back to the spot it was in when it entered the room. Lily would have been only an inch or two from the being itself. Lily in an instant would have seen what the creature was, a split second to see the attacker before it retreated. She would know who it was as it was something that was an important creature in Max's deck. Another clue was Max's two fingers were on the said card at this very moment holding it in its default position.

Max prevented the attack when something in her head gave her the impression something bad was about to happen. The whole time her focus was on the table in front of her where the field of battle was happening. "Lily something feels wrong here?"

"Well is not sure what else it could be. Mean we have been playing for a long time, so maybe we just very tired? I don't know. Should just go back to the game and finish what will happen." Lily was still annoyed that she misplayed so bad that now Max will win.

As Max continued to play her turn, she put her two fingers on Vampire Nocturnus ready to attack Lily. As she did this, a tall dark figure appeared behind Max. Lily didn't see the creature at first, but heard someone talking. Lily thought it was just Max talking or something, but when she looked up she saw a creature that looked reminiscent of Vampire Nocturnus standing behind Max. "Uhmm what is that behind you Max? It looks very similar to Vampire Nocturnus." The next thing the figure did was lunge at Lily as Max was about to swing with him. Lily had a high pitch scream as the creature was coming at her to attack. This caused Max to stop her attacking at the last minute. The creature dissipated when she stopped.

"Well," Lily was breathing heavily inbetween each of her words, "Maybe that thing about bolt isn't just random. When you started to attack me, a creature not unlike Vampire Nocturnus started to come for me. Wasn't sure what was going to happen. It was pretty scary." Lily had calmed herself down more before she spoke again. "I don't know why this is happening now though. You'd think we'd notice something like this before don't you? Mean have been playing magic for quite a long time."

Max never did see what was behind her, whatever it was it was gone but maybe Lily imagined though was it really gone? Lily screamed for a moment making Max jump in place as it really freaked her out and also caught her off guard. Maxine's fingers soon left the card she had just touched as Lily spoke up. Max turned to Lily as she heard her friend breathing heavily though she was still unsure what happened but it had to of been something big to hear Lily scream like that. Raising one eyebrow as she heard Lily utter some more words, what she said sounded like a fantasy or dream or nightmare. It was not like Max did not believe her friend, she did in fact, see the bolt spell after casting it against Lily. It seemed Lily calmed herself down after a while.

Maxine shrugged when Lily mentioned why this was happening to them, she had no idea either though just assumed she and Lily were high or having some crazy dream which somehow connected with one another. She was right they had been playing this game for a long time prompting her to say "Yeah you are right though I wonder what triggered it....... Hmmmmmmmmm......" A long pause happened though when it ended Max quickly added "Let's see if it is just me or if it is something to do with you too. I will end my turn and you play a spell or creature...... Maybe both." She sounded crazy and she was not sure if Lily would go for it but she needed to see if this was a real thing. "I am sure nothing bad will happen, I mean you turned out OK from what I heard anyway."

Maxine was not even sure she wanted to find out but if they wanted to play the game again they needed to see if it was safe. Using her right hand she checked to see if she had a fever via checking, her forehead for a temperature though it would be a guess at best. When she checked her temperature she quickly said: "I end my turn." With that said she began to look at the table where both decks were to see if anything happened though she looked around the room every so often even though Lily had yet to play anything though the dark corner of the room still had a presence. Was that where Nocturnus came from, was he still there? Maxine shuddered at the thought before locking her sights on Lily.

"Well guess we can try to see if it only happens when you play the cards or if it is me as well." Lily laughed a bit at what Max said. "Of course I was fine, despite the screaming and everything", glaring at Max. Without me screaming, I could be dead, but whatever. We can see if the same thing happens if I do it."

It was Lily's turn. She drew her card which was Mistcutter Hydra, a perfect card to draw at this moment. Lily then put down a forest. Lily activated Tamiyo's first ability, tapping down Vampire Noctunus, making sure Max couldn't swing the creature at her when Max's turn came around. Lily then tapped down all her mana to summon Miscutter Hydra, making it a 7/7. "Well this was a perfect card to top deck to see about your theory as it has haste." Well here it goes. Lily then put two fingers on Mistcutter Hydra, getting ready to swing it at Max. When Lily turned Miscutter Hydra to attack, she thought she felt something occur, but didn't think anything of it. "So you see anything happening as I'm about to swing my creature at you Max? When you did this to me was when Vampire Nocturnus started to appear behind you. Will say it did feel wierd touching the card to attack, but not sure if placebo effect with how things reacted on your turn or what."

Max waited for Lily to make her move and when she did she summoned Mistcutter Hydra, she was hoping that would not turn up but it did. A 7/7 creature was bad news but her creatures could fly as long as her top card was black plus they were very powerful too. Her eyes staring at Lily waiting for whatever to happen to happen. When she turned her creature to attack she noticed something strange happening to around her, it felt like something from a fantasy/sci-fi movie or book. One head appeared behind Lily for a moment and then a second one appeared next to Lily on the other side of the first head that appeared. Moments later more heads popped up revealing the Hydra she just played, the redish heads and the greenish body showed how real it was.

"Ummmmmmmm, I do see something, many somethings." The hydra was going to attack her in a matter of moments making Max wave her arms like a crazy person for no real reason other than to do something. When the Mistcutter Hydra began to attack Max quickly went "How is that thing fitting in this HOUSE AND for GOD SAKE LILY DON'T LET THAT THING ACTUALLY ATTACK ME. I could lose my arm or something." The creature was freaky when it was up close and personal, the creature was only a few inches from her face. Though she was not alone either as behind her was another creature from here deck. On the ceiling hanging upside down was her Vampire Nighthawk and to the left behind her was her Stormkirk Captain. She did not know they were there but she did see the creatures Lily had on the table right behind her in the same order they were placed on the field.

"Uhhhhhhh not to freak you out anymore but I think we have a bigger problem as I see your other creatures on the field and that must mean mine are here too." Max quickly looked behind her despite the Hydra in front of her to see her creatures present. "OK, OK you win this is getting too weird for me." As she said that she heard some weird words and even saw letters began to burn into the wall like the stone carvings in Skyrim at the end of certain caves, ruins, etc. The letters spelt something out, several words were present. One was Ancient Games, Games of the Past are Reborn and Danger in the Shadows. Max was sure she was having a mental breakdown, what else could it of been.

Lily stopped her attack before Mistcutter Hydra would have attacked Max. "You know you didn't have to yell so loud. I wasn't going to actually go through with the attack, we just wanted to see if the same thing would happen if I did it remember?" Lily looked around at the state of the board when she attacked. "Didn't really notice all these creatures until now. They look pretty cool and exactly what I would expect from the cards." Lily was last in a trance at everything she was seeing.

Lily was confused why Max forfeited and wanted to stop the game. "Why do you want to stop? Seeing all these creatures is kind of cool, like on that Yu-Gi-Oh tv show. I mean as long as neither of us attack with our monsters, we shouldn't get hurt or anything right? Will admit, I think we are very high or something, but we might not every see something like this again, so might as well bask in it."

Lily heard a voice whispering. She knew it wasn't Max's voice, so who could it be? "Uhhh do you hear that voice Max? It's just the two of us here right?" Lily looked around to see where the voice could be coming from. As she did this, she also saw the same letters Max had. Lily started to get weirded out by all of this. "On second thought, maybe we should be done playing Magic for awhile. This is getting to be very strange. I take it you agree right Max?"

Max heard Lily go on about how cool this was until she changed her mind at the last second and why they should stop. Max would have brought something up but she was still too freak out by the words that appeared though that was not going to be the last weird thing they see today. Max eventually spoke up to answer Lily though she paused in between each one, each one seeming like it lasted forever to utter. "I know I don't have to yell but who knows if we can actually control these things even if they are our creatures." A paused lasting about ten seconds happened before Maxine spoke up again. "As cool as they look it does not mean they will listen to us, I mean we don't even know what is going on." Another pause took place and yet it was ten seconds long again making it seem like Max was rather slow today.

"Yes we should stop, clearly if we go on we have to attack each other and who knows where that will lead us. Yes, I agree very much." When Max threw the game the creatures began to disappear though it happened slowly and in a way that looked like they were vanishing into the mist, darkness, light or just disintegrating in sand particles or something like that. "OK, Lily I think I need to have a lay down now." It sounded like a good idea though her plan was soon interrupted as she turned around she smacked into something. It felt like she had bumped into someone and it couldn't have been Lily because she was to the right of herself. Maxine had not moved as she wondered who was here or if she had walked into a wall?

Eventually, she jumped back as something filled her nose and it was not very pleasant. The smell was of something of deposing meat, it was a rather stronger smell as well making Max want to vomit though only her gag reflexes were going and nothing came out. There was also peas, sweetcorn or carrots when someone threw up. What Lily could see was a very grey corpse standing in front of Max, wrapped partly in what looked like something mummies had done to them. The said corpses left arm was visible, both flesh and bone could be seen and the middle finger stood out as it was the only one without flesh on it. They had a tattered blue hood on with some odd patterns on which covered most of the face but revealed a bit of the neck due to how tattered it was. A hole could be seen with rotten flesh going around the hole itself, black fluid dripping out which also had a nasty potent smell. The beings teeth were a mix of yellow, brown and black, the only thing on the fact that was not covered by the hood this being wore.

"Thhhhhheeeeeee..... Ancient...... ggggaaaaammmmeeeessssss has beeeeeeeeennnnnnn reviveeeeeeeed......... The gammmmmmeeeeee yoooooooou call Magggggggiccccccccc the Gatherrrrring isssssssssssss more then a gaaaammmmeeeeeee.......... Anccccciiiieeeeennnnttttttt eviiiillllll hassssss beeennnnn reborn......... Theeeeeee plaaaayyyyyeeeeeerrrrssss from the passssssssstttttttt havvvvveeeee beeeennnnnnn revvvviivvvvveeed, the playerrrrrrrs of the presssssentttttt have awoken and the players of theeeeeeee futuuuurrrrreeee willl awakennnnn." Max stick gaging a little wondered why this not came from and why this guy looked like he crawled out of a grave and wandered the sewers. "You haaaaavvvvvveeeeee set of chhhhhaaain reaccccction, eeeeeevvvvvviiiiiillllll now follows youuuuuuuuuu. DEEEEFFFFEEEAAAAATTTTTT MEEEEEEEEEE and I SHALLLLL TELLLLL YOU WHAT NEEDS TOOOOOOO BE DONE. The player of the swampsssssss and mountainsssssssssss and the player of the plains, Oceannnnnnn and foresttttttt. But beware this GAME WILL NOT END WELL."

The way he spoke said like he had a speech problem, some dirt in his mouth making it hard to talk and had a somewhat metallic tone to it. After he spoke the being reveled his right hand and in it was a deck similar to the Magic the Gathring cards. Max finally recovering somehow looked up at the being before turning to Lily "What the FUCK is going on, I don't want to play now." With that said the being pulled a card from the top deck and then several others after. With a hand full of cards he revealed a swamp card and soon tapped it to play a creature. The creature was a Morticiain Beetle and it was fucking hughed as it suddenly appeared in the room in real time. Max's deck was on the table and Lily was much closer so should would have to move first if Lily did not faint which could happen though Max could possibly faint as well.

"THHHHEEEEE GAMMMMMEEEEEE issssss OOONNNNNNN. Play well or your LIVES WILL BE LOST young ones. The game is like the oneeeee youuuuu were playyying but it is muuuuuccccchhhhh moorrrreeee now. 20 life points each for the both of you and 40 for me due to the handicap. DON'TTTTTTT treatttttt this like a normal game or you will PERISH. It is your turn player of plains, ocean and forest, I will help you both by letting you get ready for your first turn by getting a creature on the field. I will only attack you once you have a creature, AFTERRRRRR thattttt you are freeeeeee gameeeeee." The bettle slowly making its way to the two girls.

To Lily, it sounded like Max was talking slower than normal as she kept talking. "Yeah it would be a good idea to stop playing this game as we don't know if we can really control the creatures and could be very dangerous. Are you okay Max? You are pausing for breaths a lot longer than you should. Well, anyways we should just go take a nap or something. Be a nice breather from all this.

Before Lily even thought to move, she froze. She saw a big creature standing near Max. "W-w-w-hat is that"?, she said, her voice trembling. Max didn't her Lily's voice and walked right into the creature.

The creature then went on about ancient games being revived and how stuff from the past was going to affect the present. Lily didn't care for most of this and just wanted to be done playing magic for today. "Can't we just do this another time? You look all decrepit and smelling and after all that has happened today, I just want to relax, and certain Max does as well. Sadly this isn't a dream and imagine you won't let us go until we play this game? Well guess we should start this Max." Lily was reluctantly read to start this game.

Lily drew her hand. In her opening hand was 2 forests, an island, seaside citadel, dungeon geist, fog bank, and path to exile. While this wasn't the best starting hand, not having any plains normally, she at least at seaside citadel that could tap for a forest, plain, or island. Lily would have liked to mulligan to a better hand, but she didn't know what would happen if she did that, considering all the new things her and Max found out about today. Instead Lily put down the seaside citadel and ended her turn. "That's all I can do. So is it Max's turn now, or your turn you smelly, decrepit creature?"

A game of Magic again, now against that decaying corpse that was making the room smell worse by the minute. The corpse made the first move and then Lily do her turn though nothing to note at this point. When she was called out she wondered why this was happening, did she really want to summon those creatures again who look cool in the artform they had. But seeing them become real was somewhat terrifying due to the possibility of death. The room started to change a little as from the corpses corner a swamp began to appear exactly like that in the art of the card he had and the same was happening on Lily's side, except it was in the appearance of the Seaside Citadel. Max sighed for a moment as she stumbled towards the table to get her deck though god knows why she was even doing it. Maxine had to pick the deck up, shuffle it and then began her phase, the first step was done almost instantly.

"GOD That thing is massive, I hope it does not eat people?" and with that, she began to shuffle her deck like that seen in card based animes. Ten seconds later she began to pick cards up for her opening hand. Two swamps, one mountain, one Kalastria Highborn, one Guul Draz Vampire, one Lightning Blot and one Vampire Nocturnus. She could play a creature or use a spell though that seemed kind of pointless for now so she played a swamp card which soon formed around her, now there was less of the kitchen then before and soon she tapped it to play Guul Draz Vampire where she went to end her turn. As she played the one mana vampire card the creature began to take form, a shadow next to Maxine appeared and within it was the said creature. Unlike last time the creature spoke to Maxine and what she said was "I am your pawn my mistress, my night queen." Maxine found it somewhat weird but she was playing the game now so things were going to be.

With her turn up the corpse went to draw another card and in no time at all played another swamp card before tapping one to play another one mana creature which was a Prickly Boggart. He did not attack as he said he would until both had a creature, however he did make it seem as if he were going to attack as the Morticiain Beetle began to move in real time, swamp appearing as it moved, parts of the floor turning into a swamp or back to the kitchen floor. The Prickly Boggart at this time made some sounds as if it were crazy in some way. With that done he ended his turn so Lily could begin her one, however he did make sure to repeat that standing still was not in their best interest. The Prickly Boggart had moved though not close enough to do anything to the pair due to gettting no orders and that the it had summoning sickness.

It was Lily's turn. The next card she drew was Azorius Arrester. While it wasn't the best card she could have drawn, Lily just needed to put a creature out so Max wouldn't be doing all the work. Lily put down a island and summoned the card. Lily decided to detain the Prickly Boggart. As Lily put down the island, a part of the room seemed to fill with water, with fish and other animals jumping out of the water whenever. As Lily summoned the Azorius Arrester, it appeared in real life, looking exactly like the card. It was a tall man in silver armor with a blue cap flowing behind him. As Lily directed her target at the Prickly Boggart, the creature said "As you wish." The Arrester then did an incantation, creating a symbol of the Azorius guild in the air. The figure then pointed at the Prickly Boggart, the Azorius symbol flying towards the creature. It then stopped, sealing the creature so it couldn't do an action for one turn.

Lily looked over at Max. "Sorry it isn't the best creature I have in my deck, but you have to admit the effects of what he did looked cool in real life right?" Lily hoped that Max understood that she was doing the best that she could, considering what her opening hand was. "Hopefully I get some better cards Max as I had quite a few lands to start with. It is still early though so we should be fine. I mean nothing bad can happen this early on right?" Lily then ended her turn.

"A creature is a creature, plus you kind of locked one for a turn so that is good. Fear early in this game is very bad for those without that colour. I guess they look cool if it is not happening to us." Lily was right it has only been one turn for herself and two for Lily and two for the corpse they were fighting. It was Maxine's turn now making her pick the top card to see what it was though it was not anything worth using at the time due to the mana cost. Maxine played another swamp which soon made the place look even more out there due to the mixture of scenery the player had created. Maxine could even smell the waters coming from her swamps and to an extent from Lily's land. Max then looked at her hand for a moment to considered what she could do though really she could not do much. Max soon tapped both swamps to play her Kalastria Highborn who appeared via a dark aura that suddenly popped up onto the scene.

Max could attack this turn but she wondered if it was worth doing so, the other player could have a spell under his hat though at this time it did not matter. Maxine considered her options for a moment before deciding to attack the walking corpse with her Guul Draz Vampire. Upon tapping her creature the Guul Draz Vampire flashed out of eye sight though some words were heard as that happened. "First blood always tastes the sweetest." The opponent did not block with the one creature he had free to use, the vampire soon closed the gap between herself and the player. Upon being in close quarters the vampire attacked using her blade and upon impact a black fluid had left the living corpse. The black fluid making its way across the various mana zones most mostly his own. With that, the turn had ended and the third turn for the corpse would begin. Max watched the corpse, who knew what they were hiding.

"Myyyyyy TURRRRRRNNNNNNN" he uttered and soon picked his next card from his deck. His eyes though not easy to see could be seen looking at his hand. Instantly he played one more swamp and followed with a spell which was Duress. He had targetted Max and like the creature cards, the spell card appeared and soon quickly disappeared. The artwork that was displayed is what happened to Maxine a moment later. The branches began to poke Maxine in the face, the branch tips were very sharp as Max quickly found out as it caused a big scratch across her left cheek. The rest were marking her skin partly. Like magic her hand began to reveal themselves to the player who cast the spell and with that the only card that could be picked [Lightning Bolt] disappeared into her grave. The Duress spell caused one more stratch before disappearing though it left marks on her skin.

"My atttaaaccckkk phaseeeeee begins noooowwwwwww plainswalker of plains, ocean and forest." With that said he tapped his only creature that was free and sent it towards Lily. The massive beetle soon began to circle Lily and would attack once Lily decided to either block it or take direct damage. Taking direct damage was not plasent as seen when Max attack the player they were fighting, who know what damage she would take. The creature was very quick and it did not stay still as it began to size Lily up. With two swamps at the ready who knew what spells he had hidden.

Lily was a bit disgusted seeing what happened to Max when Duress was used. Thus when the creature decided to attack, Lily blocked with her Azorius Arrester, both of them dying in the process. "Well am glad I had a creature to block with or I might have got some nasty scars like you Max? Am I right?". Lily hoped she would get some sort of laugh from Max but decided to continue on with her turn.

Lily drew her card. She drew her favorite card Tamiyo, The Moon Sage. Was still a bit too early to play this card, but wasn't a bad card to draw either. Lily put down a forest and tapped all her land to summon Fog Bank. A fog started to appear across the field, more of it being condensed on Lily's side of the field above her lands. This was a perfect card to deal with most the creatures that would swing, as long as the creature didn't use spells to kill fog bank or swing more than one creature at Lily. "Hopefully this monster will slow you down for some time so me and Max can start a counterattack." Lily looked over to Max giving her a thumbs up. Lily then ended her turn.

Maxine rubbed her face a little after the Duress spell disappeared as it left a strange feeling. Max did not crack a smile but she did seem slightly amused with what Lily said. Upon seeing Fog Bank Max knew Lily would be safe for a while or so she hoped as the opponent could have something up his sleeve. When Lily gave Maxine the signal to start her turn she started by drawing her top card. It was a Vampire Nighthawk which was very useful for a creature of its cost and abilities which made her play her one mountain mana that she had in her hand. In turn, a mountain in the background appeared on the battlefield and a trail of the said mountain appeared, the mountain mixed with the swamps that were also under Maxine's feet. A black smoke began to come from the mountain though the source of it was unknown.

"Hmmmmmmmm, so only the big ugly thing is left. I think the following should be used for combat." Maxine soon tapped the one mountain and two swamps to bring Nighthawk to the field. An eerie darkness crossed the swamps as Vampire Nighthawk suddenly came into view, the time of day suddenly changing into night time on her side. It was unusual as Max could see the daylight on Lily's and the corpses side. "The night speaks to me and tells me blood will be seen tonight." Nighthawks voice was strangely eerie, distorted and somewhat evil. Maxine did not look at the creature who was next to her, the creature whispering into her ear for a moment before leaning back. With the new creature down Maxine started her attack on the opponent. Maxine had to decide who would attack this turn, Kalastria Highborn or Guul Draz Vampire? With her new edition, she could attack with both and with that tapped both of the said creatures who soon began to move in on the corpse who at this time took a few steps back.

He had to choose if he was going to take some of the damage or all of it unless he could stop them another way. Maxine was confident that some form of damage would happen.

Guul Draz Vampire and Kalastria Highborn moved in to attack the creature. Even with two swamps opened, it seemed the creature had nothing it could do. The creatures attacked him in the arm, causing a chunk of flesh on his right shoulder to fall off. "Yoooouuuuu willlll rrrreeeegrrrettttt tttthhhaattt", the creature said in response to the damage he received on his arm.

It was the creature's turn. He put down another swamp and tapped all his land and used Damnation. When he played the card, a black hole appeared on the middle of the field. It started to suck in all the creatures on the field, even the fog bank. Kalastria Highborn and Guul Draz Vampire got sucked in, the black hole crushing their bodies, a sea of red blood appearing as it happened. Max and Lily sort of moved a bit due to the spell as well. "No,no,no,no,no, I don't want to be sucked into that," Lily said frightened at what might happen, trying to grab whatever was near her. After all the creatures were destroyed, the black hole disappeared and the playing field returned to normal. The creature did a creepy laugh. "Tthheee sppeelllll woooooulllldddd oonnllllyyy hhhaavveee affffeccttteedd thhhee creeeatuuureeessss, noootttt yooouuuuu unllllessss ittttt spppeccccciffficalllyy tarrgettteeeddd youuuuu. Yourrrr turrrnnn, useerrr of Plain, Forest, and Island."

Lily was relieved that damnation wouldn't target them, but had hoped her fog bank would have lasted longer than it did. The field was empty though, so they didn't have to worry about any attacks for a little bit. Lily drew her card. It was a Blinding Mage. Would be better if Lily had more plains, but it wouldn't be too bad a card to use for now. Lily then put down her other forest. She tapped one of the forests and seaside citadel to summon Blinding Mage. A person appeared on the field, holding a staff in their hand. "I will do my best to stop intruders before they even think of attacking us." Lily then ended her turn, meaning it was Max's turn.

Max watched as the target took the damage though with his life still above 30 he could get away with it. The game had only been going for about three turns but it seemed to be somewhat favouring them. When it was the opponents turn Maxine watched closely as he seemed calm even after being attacked up close and personal. A swamp was played and with that, all the lands were tapped meaning something big was coming and that was a scary thought. The said thought to cause Max to rub her cheek as the recent memory of Duress took over her thoughts once more. The spell was played, a card Maxine knew of which was bad for her and Lily. It was somewhat similar to Killing Wave but that card was harder to pull off as it was based on creatures or life. When the black hole began her creatures suddenly began to get pulled into the black hole. As the creatures began to leave her side of the field Max began to grab onto the nearest thing which was a tree from the swamps.

She did it automatically though she did not feel anything pulling her closer, even so she looked back to see her creatures get crushed in the black hole, blood spurt everywhere and even a cloud of red lingered for a moment. For a split second, it felt as if it had affected her in some way as it felt like something was being torn away from her. It felt like pain yet it did not hurt physically or mentally either. When the creature spoke up about it only affecting the monsters unless stated she let go of the said tree. The swamp water, dirt and general smell began to cover Maxine as if it was becoming one with the swamp. The turn soon ended and it was now on Lily to do something. Lily had played a human type creature with the ability to tap a creature. Max took a moment to take a breath of relief as her turn now began.

Max began by pulling the top card from her deck which was another Vampire Nocturnus. She had two now, a one Vampire Nighthawk, only three cards at hand. It did not look very good at the moment but hopefully, she could pick up after this turn. Maxine soon moved to the left a bit with the swamp water making a trail behind her. What could Max even do at this point, she had enough mana to summon one of her creatures. "Oh man, ummmmm what should I do?" She paused for a moment to ponder her thoughts and future moves, about 30 seconds passed before she did something making her tap her four mana to summon Vampire Nocturnus. A sudden wind soon hit the swamps and the other landscapes as a swamp of bats began to take form in the night sky above the swamps in Max's control. There must have been at least 100 or so bats that were clustered together which soon took form as Vampire Nocturnus. The creature stood in the darkness, hidden from sight. She could do nothing else and so ended her turn. Maxine flipped the turn card on her deck to revel a dual land card.

The corpse now had his turn as he pulled his top card out from the deck to see what it was as his mana reset back for this turn. The corpse did not have much to use at this time but he had something he could play creature wise. He soon tapped two black mana and played black Knight, a creature with first strike and protection from white which would be a problem for Lily at this point. Max had to destory that creature as quickly as possible. The corpse soon ended his turn meaning it was now Lily's turn to do something. Hopefully she could get a pure blue card to defend herself or she could be in serious trouble for now. "Plainswalker of Plaaaaiinnns, Islllllandsssss and Foooooooressst, how will you deal with my BBBBBBLLLLLLack KniiiiiGGGGGhhhht?" The more this game went on the more Max wondered if this was more then just a game, what was this persons angle?

Lily was a bit worried with the black knight on the field. Yeah it wasn't the strongest of creatures, but anything with white in it's cost wouldn't be able to do anything to it and could go right to her and deal damage. Lily hoped the next card she drew would be something that didn't have any white in it's cost. Lily drew her card. It was Rubina Soulsinger. While it was a nice card, it wouldn't be able to do anything against the black knight. Lily kept looking at her hand, getting a bit flusttered. Looking at what was in her hand again, Lily felt dumb. Why should she put worried about that card, when she had this blue card in her hand?

Lily put down an island. She then tapped that, seaside citadel, and two forests to summon dungeon geists. Spirits appeared on Lily's side of the field, carrying chains with them. Lily pointed her target at the black knight. The 3 spirits then moved towards the black knight, wrapping the chains all around the black knight. As long as Dungeon Geists were on the field, the black knight couldn't do anything. "Really worried myself there when I had that card since my opening hand," Lily said to Max. "Now that the black knight is trapped, you can go in for some damage! Pretty sure this creature doesn't have anything he can do to stop that." Lily then ended her turn, giddy that Max could swing for a lot of damage.
