Jake walked over to Quinn. "Hey...do you think this has any importance?" He asked, not knowing if Blood Army always wrote notes. He looked at the woman and his police instinct kicked in. He took a shirt out of his bag and ripped it into long shreds of fabric. He wrapped a couple of the strips around her leg, slowing the blood flow so she wouldn't bleed out. "I'm not leaving you here." He said. He knew he was putting himself at risk. This girl could kill him. But he decided to give her a chance.

Jake heard another shot ring out, quickly darting his eyes around to find the trouble. He looked up after a while, seeing a figure motioning for them to run. He looked in the opposite direction. "Shit..." He said, knowing Blood Army was going to have more troops coming. He picked the girl up, her weight not too much for him. He grabbed his bag. "Quinn, let's get out of here." He said, grabbing his rifle before walking away from the area. He heard another shot, seeing some Blood Army members in the distance. "Shit...shit shit shit..." He said, his stomach dropping at the thought of being hunted down.

Everything was happening so fast, one of her rescuers moving over and bandaging the wound as he reassured her that he wasn’t going to leave her. She watched him as he focused on her leg, she got the impression that he meant what he said about not wanting to leave her even as he shot her a brief apprehensive glance.

As another gunshot rang out, the sound echoing down the street one of the several Blood Army figures that had just emerged crashed to the ground. Charlotte tried to stand but again she was unable to put any pressure on the leg, though fortunately the man who had patched up her leg wasted little time in hoisting her up into his arms as they began to move. Initially she recoiled at the contact and a powerful instinct to struggle and fight against him overcame her but with great effort she pushed it aside as with a glance behind them she could see several heavily armoured figures making their way up the street dashing from cover to cover.

She hoped that whoever these saviours of hers were they had some kind of plan or at the very least had somewhere to run to, the prospect of being pursued by the Blood Army was not a pleasant one at all. Her mind burning with questions but she held her tongue as her heart pounded in her chest and clutched her arms tightly as Jake carried her towards the still idol vehicle with the note clutched in his hand.

((So sorry about my delayed reply guys. The rat race been getting me down))

Quinn whirled around to try and find the trace of the shots. His eyes fixed on a sniper watching over them. Some sort of militarized guardian angel.
"Get her in the car," Quinn called out, though his voice didn't bear the strain of stress. It was unnervingly calm for a situation like this. He had been Blood Army once, he knew what they were capable of. He also knew how they operated.
"You're going to have to drive, can't do very well with this," Quinn said pointing to his scarred face, indicating the missing eyeball.

Reacting quickly, Jake doubled back to the car. He ripped the door open and placed the woman in the backseat. "Lay down." Jake ordered, hoping she would understand why. Jake then hopped into the driver's seat, attempting to hot-wire the car. His nervousness was causing him to shake, unable to get the car to start up. "C'mon...c'mon..." He said to himself, hearing gunshots from their sniper. He hoped she'd take them all out as well as hoping more Blood Army wouldn't come.

Another shot rang out from atop the building as Kate fired a third time getting a clean kill as the Blood Army soldier fell to his knees clutching his neck. The other soldiers knew better than to continue feeding themselves through to where inevitably they would be slaughtered. they had the genius idea to come up to the roofs and attack Kate head on. She motioned to the three survivors to start driving she placed her Sniper rifle on her back as she grabbed onto a zipwire sliding all the way down before landing on the roof of the car with a thud. "Fucking drive asshole." She yelled as she pulled out a small clicker from her jeans. She clicked it twice and 4 explosions went off inside the building she was just on, levelling it and killing everyone inside. She knew she had killed the civilians inside but to the people that would eventually find the building they would find Blood Army bodies inside the rubble too, making it look as though they had done it.

Charlotte scrabbled into the backseat of the car, needing little urging as her rescuer told her to lie down, bullets occasionally whizzing overhead or pinging into the metalwork of the truck as the Blood Army continued to advance towards them. Lifting her head slightly she peeked from where she was hidden and witnessed several of their attackers crumple to the ground as a distant shots rang out. Following the gaze of the other two she spotted the distant shape and glint of a sniper covering them from a rooftop, each shot they fired found its mark with precision as yet another man thudded to the ground with a gaping hole in his neck.
Moments later the attacking enemies had changed their route, now moving towards the building that contained the sniper. Her heart pounding in her chest Charlotte watched as the sniper leapt from the rooftop and slid down a zipwire heading directly towards them. Her mouth slightly agape in awe Charlotte realised that this saviour of theirs was a woman, motioning for them to drive as she hurtled towards them.

Turning her attention back to her companions she watched as the one eyed man coolly kept watch, seemingly undisturbed by the chaos around them. The other guy however seemed to be trying to hotwire the truck, but she could see that his hands were shaking and he was muttering to himself as he did so. Taking a few moments Charlotte hesitated briefly at the situation unfolding as the sniper woman thudded onto their roof.

"Fucking drive asshole” she shouted, and it was in that moment that Charlotte chose to act. Sitting up she leaned forwards from the backseat and flipped down the sun visor above the driver’s side and she grinned slightly as the keys to the truck slipped out and landed in her hands with a satisfying clinking noise. She dropped the keys into Jake’s hand the moment that there was a shatteringly loud explosion from the building that until moments ago their sniper friend had been stationed on. She glanced backwards and stared at the devastation as huge chunks of concrete and debris tumbled down and a big cloud of dust began to spread.

Jake kept fiddling with the car, bullets flying past him. "Shit. Shit. Shit." He repeated, the phrase said every time a bullet landed near him. He moved his head around, trying not to look like a sitting duck. A bullet struck the headlight, plastic from the covering flying away. He groaned as he then saw more Blood Army flopping on the ground. His heart was racing as he hoped a bullet wouldn't have his name on it. He then saw as their "guardian angel" had ziplined off the building. "What the fu-" He was interrupted as a bullet flew through the windshield, exiting the back window. "Oh shit!" He yelled in slight fear of dying.

He heard more gunfire combined with the noise from the close bullet messing with his mind. Everything seemed to be in slow motion. He looked out the window to see the sniper drop onto the roof of the car. He snapped out of his slow motion as he heard the loud thud on the roof as well as the explosion. Jake looked around, seeing Charlotte find keys and the building crumbling. Not knowing how to react, he quickly jammed the keys in the ignition and started the car with ease. He smiled and put the petal to the metal, the tires screeching as he began driving fast out of the area.

Jake looked at the steering wheel. "What. The fuck. Just happened?" He asked slowly, looking up at the road as he slowed to a more safer speed. He was absolutely shocked at the events that took place. He had never experienced something crazy of this caliber. He took a deep breath as his heart rate was through the roof as well as his breathing. He slowly felt himself hyperventilate, the thought of dying combined with getting shot at and having a building explode way too much for his mind to handle.

"Blood army happened," Quinn commented dryly, "Regular day at the beach for them."
Of course, Quinn had been shaken by the encounter as well, but he felt less in the way of fear and more rage. The Blood Army was a plague that had risen out of the ashes of the real military and fallen prey to mankind's basest desires.
They were out for mindless conquest, and nothing more.
Quinn knelt down to speak to Charlotte.
"How are you feeling? That wound will need looking at. Think you can hold on until we get somewhere safe?"

"Blood army happened" Quinn commented dryly, "Regular day at the beach for them."

His words hung in the air for Charlotte, her mind searching for an explanation to why so many would join together just to exploit and hurt others. Her mind flashed back to the night she had been attacked and she remembered that the men had mentioned something about the blood army, though at the time she hadn’t paid much attention to it. Quinn’s question snapped her out of her thoughts and her eyes focused upon his.

She hesitated for a few moments as she couldn’t help but examine his face, or rather lack of face covered by a makeshift kind of mask as he asked if she was okay.

“Fine” she mumbled, her voice cracking slightly from disuse as she ignored the deep throbbing pain still radiating through her.

“Somewhere safe?” she repeated, half a question, half wondering if such a place even existed anymore. She didn’t reply any further than that, her mind starting to wander again at the events that were happening. She failed to realise how strange she was acting, gazing into the distance, jumping at slight sounds and frequently looking behind them as if she expected to see signs of pursuit despite the fact that the men who had been chasing them were now all surely quite dead.

Charlotte felt uneasy being in the car with these strangers and if it wasn’t for the fact they had saved her life she would have already tried to flee (despite the fact they were now moving at some speed).

Suddenly out of the blue she turned back to Quinn and asked “What happened?” referring to his face and missing eye, a mingled combination of curiosity and suspicion causing her to ask as her fingers continued to rest instinctively on the handle of her knife.

Quinn's jaw tensed. He didn't like remembering that night, but it was an unavoidable thing. The reminder was permanently affixed to his face, and damn hard to hide.
It was such a loaded question, with a potentially loaded answer to be given. He could never tell these people that he used to be part of the Blood Army, that he had committed countless atrocities and sadist acts. Things that would stain his soul forever.
He looked away for a moment, nervously adjusting his makeshift bandages. No matter how he wore the fucking thing it still showed some of that scar tissue.
After what seemed like a long time, but was in actual fact only a few seconds, Quinn turned back to Charlotte.
"Blood Army happened, regular day at the beach for them," he choked out a crackling laugh to ease the tension and hopefully bring some much needed levity to the situation.
"Managed to take some of them with me. Can still keep an eye on them in hell."

Jake listened to Quinn's small explanation of what happened. He was glad Charlotte asked, finally getting that urge out of him. He laughed a bit at his "Blood Army happened" statement. He looked around the area, noticing they were out of the city and in the suburbs. They were on a narrow road with grass on one side and homes both destroyed and somewhat standing on the other. Jake pulled over after a while, not knowing what to do or where to go.

"So...I believe it'd be good to settle down for a bit." He said, looking straight ahead at the road, not looking at anything else.

"No. Settling down will only get you killed. You need to keep running. it is the only way to escape the Blood Army. if you go now you could get far enough away that they wont be bothered enough to pursue you" She started to walk away from the car and the group. "Whatever you choose to do. Good luck. I have to leave but know that the Archangel will always protect you". And with that final remarks she took off running back to the city

Hearing voices, Alyssa's attention was grabbed imediatly. She stood up,and pulled her hood over head, blocking part of her face. She grabbed her back pack and threw it over her shoulder as she inched closer to the edge of the back of the house. It was the suburbs. The Blood Army usually didn't go to the suburbs, but she knew that there was a possibility and that was something she needed to know.

She squinted as she tried to see who it was, or who they were the best they could listening to the conversation. Her hand shook slightly as she did so, she tried to stop it the best she could but it was pointless. She huffed as she saw nothing but a car between the two buildings. She needed to get closer.

She knew it was risky. She knew that. But she had to risk it. She stayed against the wall and ran closer as she ducked down, altimitly hiding behind a trash can as she listened closer and attempted to get a better glimpse at the faces.

Jake watched as the "Archangel" ran off. He smirked, finding her gimmick pretty silly, but the thought of having a sniper watching on your side is always good. Jake turned the car off, not wanting to waste the little bit of gas the car had left. He knew they shouldn't sit, but Jake needed reassess the situation. He got out the car and looked around, trying to find an area of safety and potentially a place to sleep. Day was coming to an end, the sky a vibrant orange and red as the sun was setting. Jake took a deep breath, trying to stay sane.

Quinn’s laugh brought a smirk to Charlotte’s face in spite of herself, the heaviness and tense atmosphere abating slightly as it became clear that they now all had a mutual enemy.

She glanced in the backseat from Quinn to Jake as Jake suggested that they should think about settling down. Before she could think about her response the ‘Archangel’ spoke and told them how it was. It was clear she was no-nonsense enough and clearly dangerous, but the right kind of dangerous. As she sprinted towards the city Charlotte watched her go, wishing that she had perhaps stayed in the vicinity longer – after all a woman who could not only protect herself but also extend that protection to others was something that interested Charlotte a great deal.

“She is right…” said Charlotte uncertainly, searching for the right words.

“Last time I stopped somewhere… my friends were all, well they aren’t alive anymore” she finished after searching for the right words to use, her gaze off in the distance as she pushed away the memories that kept coming to her. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fist, the familiar feelings of anger were rising the more she thought about the Blood Army and what they had done, what they were still doing.

Regardless if they settled down permanently or not they would need a place to stay as the sun was starting to rapidly set, but the more she thought about it the more that Charlotte thought that someone needed to fight back against the Blood Army, someone needed to make them suffer and make sure they couldn’t hurt anyone else. Lost in her thoughts she ran her fingers absently through her hair, a habit she had long since forgotten.

"Pursuit or not, traveling at night is too dangerous. Worse things than Blood Army prowl at night."
Sudden flashes of memory came at him like artillery shells. Running, bleeding, pain and fear. In the end the only reason he got away was that even the Blood Army feared the mutant freaks that ruled the night.
Quinn hopped out of the car and stretched. The feeling of solid ground beneath his feet gave him a small sense of confidence.
"We're losing light. Sooner we clear a house, the better."
It would be a difficult thing, with one injured and Quinn's disability, something could very easily get the drop on them. On one hand he didn't want to send someone in alone, and on the other hand he didn't want to leave Charlotte alone.

Jake looked to Charlotte, listening to her speak. "Sorry for your losses." Jake said quietly, his heart hurting as he had to make "loss" plural. He took a deep breath before getting out shortly after Quinn. He agreed with Charlotte and the "Archangel". It wouldn't be smart to sit around. Well not unprotected. Jake knew that they'd need to get somewhere safe before it was dark. He listened to Quinn's statement. "Let's go then." He said, motioning Charlotte to follow with a small head movement in the direction he walked in. He pointed to a pretty well preserved house, only a few holes in the roof. It looked to be empty, no visible signs of life around it. He noticed the windows were broken, cringing a bit as he knew someone could sneak in while they slept.

Alyssa watched the group. She could tell they weren't the blood army by there tone towards them and the way the group talked. She could also tell that the group wasn't dangerous, at least she thought she could tell. The only question was did she actually want to join a group. Thinking about itnshe decided she did. She could always change her mind.

She made sure her knife was in her sleeve, by her hand in case something went wrong and stood up looking at the group."hey." She said though she couldn't see any of there faces. She still kept her hoodie on. She didn't want them to think she was just some dumb girl.

Jake heard a soft voice behind him. He jumped a bit, startle from it. He aimed his rifle at the girl, lowering it after he saw she was currently unarmed. He saw the thin bulge of something foreign in her sleeve, believing it to be a possible weapon. He kept his guard up in case she were to attack. "Can I help you, ma'am?" He asked, a police officer tone present. He looked around, making sure this wasn't an ambush either. He didn't know if the Blood Army would use people as bait, but he wasn't going to take any chances.

Quinn's movements almost mirrored Jake's.
He snapped around, his revolver in his hand and pointed at this startling newcomer in a blur of movement.
Quinn noticed Jake lower his rifle, and after a tense moment, did the same. The barrel of his revolver was now pointed at the ground at the girl's feet, ready to come back up in a heartbeat.
As Jake addressed her, Quinn looked around, scanning their immediate surroundings in his line of sight, but couldn't place anything out of the ordinary. That was the problem with city areas, suburban or otherwise. Too many dark buildings for killers to hide in.
