My name is Moll Lantieri and I helped invent the first working time machine. Or rather, the first predictable time machine.

Error. Coordinates cannot be reset.
Error. You do not have clearance to access the control panel at this time. Please contact...

Truthfully. That is what I thought. In fact, it is the only reason why I would ever offer to test this thing. That and...I am not actually a scientist. I have yet to graduate. And this, well, this was the only way I could get this close to such a monumental project. You understand, don't you?

The bot's screen blinked as it hovered apathetically in front of the time machine tester. It caused the female to roll her eyes in frustration and let out an exasperated groan.
Don't you dare judge me.
The bot seemed uninterested in making a reply.
Not chatty all of a sudden, I see, so how about you do what you were programmed to do and help me fix this thing up, eh?

Moll opened the door to the small travelling cabin and stepped outside onto perfectly soft ground. Her eyes darted downwards and she fought to hold back a gasp. Grass. Grass extended as far as the eye could see and trees seemingly sprouted out of everywhere. On their own, no artificial support whatsoever.
Uhm. Okay, this seems...strange. Travelbot, where exactly are we?
The bot in question remained as quiet as before which prompted Moll to slap it on the side before she realised that all and any information the bot would be capable of accessing would have to be re-routed as, if the machine had proven to have transported them back in time, it would have zero access to the Wire.

So without further ado, she got to work, as ignorant as any person who had never had to check her surroundings before to ensure her safety, past the occasional hazmat bin.

It was only when he jumped over a fence that Thonovan managed to get rid of the two men chasing him. He heard them shout something about witchcraft as he continued to run, leaving no room for them to catch up. Out of breath, he slowed down when he considered himself far enough from them. "Witchcraft? Are they kidding me? Someone should tell those guys we're living in the year 2233. Witchcraft, hah." While he mocked them, he realized where their worries came from. Thonovan wasn't exactly ordinary and since he could remember, people feared anything they didn't understand.

As his breathing turned back to normal, he came across an odd cabin in the woods. He stopped and looked at an empty space next to him. "I haven't seen this here before. Have you?" he asked at seemingly no one in particular. There was a short silence and Thonovan nodded, as if he was listening to someone. "Are you sure?" he asked out loud once again. Carefully he approached the entrance f the cabin and gently pushed the door open. He sneaked inside and noticed a lot of buttons. For a second, he considered just pressing some random buttons and see what it would do. Out of nowhere, he seemed startled, as if someone had just shouted or something like that. "Oh no!" he said and hid himself from sight.

Are you kidding me, bot?!

Moll slapped her hands against the sides of the unresponsive bot, ready to give it a nice shake when she heard a familiar hiss. The door to the machine had opened. All colour rushed from her cheeks, leaving her even paler than before and she hugged Travelbot close to her chest. Luckily for her, they no longer made flight assistant bots clunky as before and they now came with a slick, customisable design and the added benefit of hovering. Also, they were portable.

Moll's Travelbot was modelled after the ancient 1990s TVs, albeit smaller in size. It was a thick, white screen sporting a solid blue display to give the bot the possibility of emoting and robotic arms attached to the sides of the case. She had built the shell herself when she was younger after her grandfather had told her about their ancestors and life as it was long before 3010 (or his version of it, really, for who could know anymore what that had been like?) - a story that realistically should not have taken as long as it had, but which she enjoyed thoroughly nonetheless.

While her bot had been shunned for what some considered stylistic flaws, others seemed to applaud her disposition for the old and dilapidated, not all sarcastically. Her own family argued that she wouldn't have been as invested in time travelling, had it not been for her affection towards all things ancient.

Did you hear that? She tried, and where there was no answer, she frowned: Of course you didn't register that. You are being a major b-hole right now, Tbot.
Gulping as some of the implications started to dawn on her - if she had indeed traveled in time and someone had just stumbled across her chute, there was no telling what the consequences would be and with a malfunctioning time machine, she could be in greater trouble than she could even comprehend.
[b]H-hello? You, you really shouldn't be in here...[b] She called as she passed from the narrow engine room into the cockpit. She noticed the door was open, which confirmed her fears as she involuntarily gripped her bot partner tighter.
[b]I was, in fact, on my way out. Away. Away from here.[b] She continued with a nervous laugh as she approached the controls and rapidly inserted a series of commands. The door hissed shut almost immediately after and Moll drew in a deep breath.
It would take the system about thirty seconds - or less - to find you. And trust me when I say this - but it does not take kindly to intruders. If you're here - show yourself now. Before things get ugly.

Moll said, doing the best tough act she was capable of, though still clutching to Travelbot for dear life.

It both surprised and relieved Thonovan to hear her voice. Although nervous, it sound somewhat kind in nature. When she told him about the system about to get ugly, he had to act quick. "Okay, okay, turn it off." he said while showing himself.

He stood eye to eye with a girl that looked like she wasn't from around here at all. With her was some sort of A.I. device that he didn't recognize. Odd, considering he always got Shark's newsletter. (Shark was the number one electronics company in 2233)

Thonovan casually approached them and picked up the bot. "What does this do? Can it predict the weather?" he said, clueless of how advanced the bot was and completely neglecting the fact they were strangers and he had just broken into her.. whatever it was.

With a click, the safety protocol was deactivated and she could finally put a face to the intruder's presence and voice. He did not seem threatening, which was good - but rather curious, a sentiment that was proven by his inspection of Travelbot.
The fact that he was not able to recognise one of the most common AIs to her knowledge, proved that the machine had been successful in transporting her - somewhere in the past, at the very least, though she would try to be careful about finding out exactly when. At the very least, it was a place that recognised AI without freaking out or calling it witchcraft, so perhaps, for now, she was in no immediate danger of being burned alive.

It's uh...It's something of a travel companion. Or should be. It doesn't quite work properly. Yet. Moll said, making use of her bot's current unresponsive nature.

"Maybe it got hacked?" Thonovan asked while hitting the bot a few times with the palm of his right hand. He immediately realized that hitting it might make things worse and he gave the girl an apologetic look. "So, what is this place? You weren't here earlier today. I passed through when I..." He didn't finish his sentence.

Before the girl had the chance to answer, Thonovan turned around. There was something nervous in his facial expression. "What do you mean, bionic?" he asked to plain thin air. He turned back to the girl and looked at her left eye with suspicion. "Where exactly did you say you came from?"

An interesting assumption. It could've been hacked, but Moll knew that was not the case. Its unresponsiveness was due to completely different causes.
She extended a tentative hand when the stranger assaulted her bot, cringing a bit at the sounds that accompanied each new hit.
Uh... She started when the stranger suddenly turned around, as though someone had called out to him. She blinked nervously when asked where she came from and let out a laugh that was somewhere between nervous and self-assured, making a conscious effort not to cover her left eye.

Where she came from, bionic fittings were no new thing at all and she now realised she was very good at making mistakes due to being too reckless.

I didn't... She began sheepishly: Say where I was coming from.
She cleared her throat before she continued, as though trying to regain her composure: You seem a little pale. Maybe you need to see a doctor or something.

The girl clearly didn't want to reveal too much about herself and Thonovan decided to respect that for now. "Well, can you at least tell me your name?" He noticed hesitation in her eyes. Hmh, that one eye kept fascinating him. "Mine is Thonovan." he said, hoping she would trust him a little more. He frowned for a second and waved his hand sideways, like you would do when you want to push someone away who is bothering you. "Cut it out." he said, once again to seemingly no one in particular.
