Oh I thought Juju was just giving up the race idea not the actual spot. Well I'll message juju to get a full explanation.
Alright Roman, as I stated towards the top of the original post, there are 6 spots being held for those from the interest check. With the recent guild issues, gonna give it about 4 more days from now for them to post to at least sya if they're gonna make a CS or not. If they don't then you'll be considered for a spot but until then you'll have to wait for me to go over your CS critically and such.
@Juju - I got the PM juju, but I couldn't reply properly. Since I'm worried if I can even reply I'll just say this, I like the first race on your list the most out of the ones you listed. I would say the specific idea but I do want to respect the idea of it being a PM, so yeah.

@6's&7's - 1) I left section out as I find that people tend to stray from their originally listed personality type and I figured that everything would just be better to handle through the RP.

2) There are going to be specific areas. Let me explain them.

Ravenloft (whoever knows where this name comes from gets a +1 in my personal nerd cred book)
-This area is pretty much the hub area for shops, social interactions, and other such activities. It's the main "town" of the world, wher eyou can organize parties, just hang out and chat, grab special quests, and other such activities.

Borin
-This is the PvE area where you can hunt humans, complete quests, as well as grind for levels. It's essentially a combination of forests and lakes that have a variety of enemies to fight.

Quer
-This is a desert area that mixes PvE and "free" PvP combat. Here you can hunt humans or fight ally monsters to gain experience or just duel one another. It's more of a desert area that feeds into a beach as well.

Ravenloft Arena
-This is part of Ravenloft, but is split into two parts. The spectator/interaction area, where you sign up for tournaments and can live view fights in game. Then there's the stadium, where teams or individuals signed up for competitions go to fight one another. There is an actual PvP ladder to follow who's doing better then others, and even a whole gambling system based around betting on tournament fighters and getting rewarded with either xp or currency.

Solin
-This is a specialized area for the first upcoming in game event that I'll go into more detail about once we get the RP started :).

3) At the start, everyone is limited to one account as we'll all be new players to the game. Once we get further into the RP, well that's open for discussion later on.

4) As with alts, hackers/antagonists controlled by others is open for discussion later on, but not at the start.

@Myst Character looks good to me, so unless someone points out something I might've missed (4;45 AM when I'm looking at all the posts since RP guild has been weird lately) the CS looks all good.
Alright, so here it is folks, the OOC for our little RP.

So, I'd like to state this, we got a decent amount of interest, so with 6 people interested, I intend on keeping 6 spots open. Should anyone decide to give up their spot, or not create a character within a 5 day period from now, then the spot will be opened up to potential participants based on CS applications.

Now with that out of the way, a quick re-iteration of the RP itself.

taken from my original Int check post
"...for those expecting something SAO or Log Horizon where the game essentially becomes the world the players have to live in constantly, this ain't gonna be like that. Instead, this RP will be about a fictional VR MMO game where at the first, it really is all about fun, and as certain events take place, more and more secrets and threats reveal themselves, and of course danger will ensue.

So, think .hack//, but instead of the phases/epitaphs/whatever and cubia, there's gonna be hackers, viruses, and other such things to deal with.

Now with that out of the way, lets discuss the setting itself, the game. For the game, here is a basic explanation of the game

It's a "Monster MMO." Essentially, this is gonna be a game where the setting will probably be a more fantastic version of the victorian era, basically steampunk but not so much technical steam machines but arcane powered machines and such. The Players get too choose instead of a class or something to play as, they instead pick a monster race. The basics include vampires, werewolves, ogres, ghosts, slimes, etc. As the character grows in strength, they have options in how to "evolve" and become more specialized monsters. For example, a vampire could either evolve into a vampire that focuses on drinking blood, which would allow them to even use it as an attack and form of sustain, basically becoming a tank of sorts, or to become a master of blood itself and become a hemomancer using blood magic, or focusing on stealth and transforming into bats and such to move around and get sneak attacks and backstabs against enemies. This is just an example of the evolve system, and the races aren't set in stone yet, just throwing out the "class" system and setting of the game to see if anyone wants to run with it."

Now, the big question for this setup would most likely be "what monster races will be allowed?"

Well...I'm gonna say anything that has versatility. As I gave examples with the vampire, the monster itself has to have a variety of paths it can follow to become more unique and tailored to a person's style of play. Of course I want to avoid over powered races like dragons and gods, but if you can give a well detailed description of your chosen race and the versatile evolution options it can take, then I'm willing to at least humor it and decide after reading your CS

Before I get into CS's though, lets discuss some rules.

1. Posting: This is advanced, so I shouldn't need to explain post standards and such. 3 paragraph minimum, etc. all that jive. When I say posting, I specifically mean posting schedules, like how often can you post, etc. Here's how posting shall go. For the most part, I shall post first and begin the "round." After I post, everyone else posts once and no more. After that, the round has ended, and everyone can post once more after I have posted and started a new round. There are some exceptions. If someone wants to have themselves skipped during a round, as long as I'm notified on the OOC or through PM before hand, that's fine. If someone else wants to start a round, please check with me first before posting. Each round lasts up to a maximum of 3 or 4 days, Pretty sure all of us can manage one post every 3-4 days. If you miss a round without being notified, you get a strike/warning. If you miss a second round in a row, then you're dropped. If you miss one round, but post in the next, then your strike count goes back to 0. Basically, don't miss 2 rounds in a row without notifying us beforehand, or your dropped.

2. Attitude: Two things for this. One, be nice to one another. Don't act like assholes to each other (unless you decide amongst one another that your characters are going to be rivals and/or jerks to one another). So yeah, not to hard. Second, if you want to try an argue against me, do it intelligently. By this I mean, for example, if I deny your character based on it's race/evolutions, please come up with a valid argument for your character and not just say "You're a dick, let me do this, blah blah blah." I don't mean to be a dictator, but as the GM my word is going to be final and while I do welcome friendly and intelligent debates about certain things, if you just act like an aggressive or passive aggressive jerk, then I'm just going to drop you from the RP. Again, I don't mind being challenged or fought on things if there is a valid point to be made, but just don't argue with me cause I'm not letting you do what you want freely. This might have come out as more of a rambling mess than I intended, but I hope I got my pointed across.

3. Dropping: As I said before, miss two rounds in a row, you're dropped. For the interest check people, if you don't post within 5 days with a CS then your spot is open for grabs from any new comers. If you decide not to pursue this RP, just let me know so I can open the spots before hand.

That's pretty much it on rules, now time for a more indepth analysis of the game Dark World

Dark World is a virtual reality massively multiplayer online role playing game, or VRMMORPG for short. The game has players creating a character that instead of picking a standard fantasy race like elves, humans, dwarves along with classes such as wizard, warrior, rogues, etc, instead combines the options of race and class together by having players pick a monster race, which in turn also determines their skills and possible evolutions into more specialized roles within that race.

There is a leveling system, but for the sake of this RP, I will be keeping personal tabs on events and characters and via the OOC will notify you on when your character levels up and is eligible for evolutions or other special events. Evolutions specifically will be made available at level 10 for any character. It won't take long to hit ten, at most 10 posting rounds (leveling will be faster at the start). Dark World is a new VR MMORPG so of course, most people are probably logging in for the first time (aka you all start at level 1 (however for anyone who really wants to start off at a higher level, PM me and I'll be willing to discuss it with you privately if you have a valid enough reason for your character to start off higher))

I know most MMO based RP's probably won't value levels too much, but I'm going too as levels are more or less gonna be indicators for how tough battles will be when starting out. As the game progresses levels will become somewhat irrelevant, but for the start, don't fight enemies with much higher levels.

The other big thing to know about is elemental effects. There are 6 elements. Fire, ice, air, stone, darkness, and electricity. Each element has different effects.
-Fire: Fire basically allows attacks and spells to do more damage after an initial hit, aka it burns the enemy. The only exceptions are monsters made from fire, or enemeies resistant to fire.
-Ice: Allows you to slow enemies, making them easier to chase down or stop them from attacking you by out maneuvering them. Again, exceptions are monsters made of ice, or ice resistant enemies.
-Wind: Wind instead of applying on hit effects like fire and ice, allows the user to deal more initial damage due to having more "pierce" damage. Wind allows people to ignore enemies defensive stats somewhat, dealing more damage. Again, wind monsters or wind resistant enemies are immune to wind effects.
-Stone: Stone, instead of dealing damage in attacks, increases the users defensive stats as well as damages enemies whenever they attack stone magic users. Basically it's like having a reflective barrier type magic. Stone monsters are immune, but there is no stone resistance as you don't defend against stone attacks, as stone is a defensive element.
-Darkness: Darkness is all about enemies not being able to see you, so dark magic lowers enemies visual abilities. Enemies hit with dark effects receive penalties to their chance to hit, and can even be fully blinded for a time. Enemies made of dark magic are resistant, and enemies that don't rely on their eyes to find their opponent are resistant to it as well (aka things like werewolves that can use smell and sound to find their enemies. They aren't resistant to the blind, but the blind doesn't really effect them as they have other ways to locate their enemies)
-Electricity: Not to hard to explain. Electric effects have a chance to stun target Enemies made from electricity and resistant to electricity are immune.

Location: (Where your real person resides in the world. Pick a country that would at least have them speak english decently since that would make international communication easier.)
Reason for playing Dark World: (self explanatory)

Race: (self explanatory)
Evolution: (as explained, evolutions are available at level 10. If you have a specific evolution in mind, please list that here, or if you haven't decided, then just give basic descriptions of possible evolutions for your character)

and now for my own CS

Real Life
Name: Mia Smith

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Occupation: Unemployed/Free lancer. Mia is a highschool graduate that dropped out of college. While she can do a variety of work, she specializes in computer work, anything from managing websites to creating news posts on electronic centered websites. She basically takes whatever work she can get and lives on a salary that gives her just enough to afford a studio apartment while feeding her gaming nature

Location: Seattle Washignton, USA

Reason for playing Dark World: It's a new game that came out, she loves MMOs, why not?

In Game:
Name: Slide

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Race: Humanoid Slime. A humanoid slime, unlike regular slimes, are more intelligent and are able to replicate speech and communicate with other beings. Their attacks consist largely of extending any party of their body to strike the enemy with, but they can also sacrifice their own health to send off chunks of themselves as projectiles, and can also retrieve these chunks to regain the health they sacrificed.

Evolution:
-Elemental Slime: An elemental slime is just a slime thhat when attacking in any way will apply the effect of their chosen element.

-Weaponized Slime: While regular slimes can control the shape of their body somewhat, shifting slimes have the ability to create actual weapons from their body, giving them more damaging strikes as they are using more weapon like appendages rather then regular slabs of slime.

-Controlling slime: A controlling slime is similar to a weaponized slime as they can shift their body into more defined shapes, but instead of creating weapon appendages, controlling slimes can create shapes such as nets, ropes, and other such objects, as well as having a natural bonding agent within their body. Should an enemy be hit with a piece of a controlling slime, they began to move slower, and can be completely rooted in place if they don't realize they're in contact with it. Long explanation short, controlling slimes are basically masters at crowd control and stunning enemies

So, I know that there's gonna be a lot more I'll need to explain as I'm sure I missed a good amount of stuff, so please feel free to ask me questions of any kind
EDIT gotta love this site lagging out, anyways, working on an OOC right now should be up in a bit
Alright, so I'm gonna get an OOC up in probably 24 hours or so. I have to go to work in about half an hour so I can't finish up what I have now, and I'm working for the next 9 1/2 hours and then it'll be past 1AM for me so I will probably be to tired to do anything lol. Still, once everything is set I'll post the OOC and link it from here as well. Any suggestions for a title? I have one in mind but not to happy with it so want to here your guys thoughts on it.

Also, as the majority have voted for it, the monster race as a "class" setup will be our RP
Alright, I just want to get at least 2 more users interested then I'll put up an OOC :)
Alright, so let me state a few things before we move onto anything else. I tried to watch SAO, didn't much care for it. Same with log horizon. However, I do have experience dealing wit other series that involved virtual mmo type settings such as the many iterations of the .hack// series (from the animes to different videogames series and such) as well as also following a decent (although kind of cliche) flash series called TOME.

Anyways, long story short, for those expecting something SAO or Log Horizon where the game essentially becomes the world the players have to live in constantly, this ain't gonna be like that.

For the game, I have two ideas that we could work with that I want to run by those who show interest and then we'll decide on which one is more well received.

1. Monster MMO: Essentially, this is gonna be a game where the setting will probably be a more fantastic version of the victorian era, basically steampunk but not so much technical steam machines but arcane powered machines and such. This is just an example of the evolve system, and the races aren't set in stone yet, just throwing out the "class" system and setting of the game to see if anyone wants to run with it.

2. The other is gonna follow a much more .hack// and/or WoW type setting, where areas are varied from low technological areas to very technological areas, and there will be set classes such as fighters, mages, thiefs, and of course much more detailed branching paths such as knights, beserkers, priests, warlocks, assassins, etc. The only difference is that after picking up a branching path class, the character can pick up a subclass. The subclass is kind of like FF, where you can level up a separate class to have more varied abilities. The differences are that A)The subclass can only be a base job and can never become a branch class B)The subclass skills can be used at the same time as the main class skills instead of switching classes. This means that a swordsman type character could use buffing magic to give their attacks more strength, ann archer type character can use magic to let them fly and shoot enemies safely from the sky, a mage can learn to use close combat weapons should an enemy get close. Essentially the subclass allows the character to become either more versatile, or even more focused in a style of play, and allows many unique variations on play style.

So, those are the two game settings I have in mind. I do prefer one over the other, but I have no intention of saying which as that might sway the vote unfairly.

So yeah, that's pretty much all I got for now. If you have any questions post here and I'll do my best to answer (without spoilers of course). If you're just interested, post here and let me know :)
