I would be more than alright with that. Any kind of input is always welcome. A tandem story is not the creation of one, but the creation of many.

Mercury Duet: Danger, Probably Death.

Imagine a dream you have recently experienced. Perhaps you were falling. Perhaps you were flying. Perhaps people were chasing you, or even worshipping you. Perhaps you died.
Now, imagine that the world you saw in that dream was real. You really did fall, fly, ran, or died. Maybe every one of our dreams is not so much a fabrication of the mind, but instead a truth, an alternate reality based on what choices could have been made. The entire fabric of our reality could be entirely different from another. Anything is possible. Perhaps as you sleep your consciousness doesn't so much as rest as it travels to another body, another form. Perhaps when you die, you permanently move on to a random world.
Now, imagine that you found the secret to traversing those worlds without dying or dreaming because of a terrible phenomenon. Something devoured your own. Darkness overwhelmed all that existed in your realm, it was eating away everything you ever knew, everything you ever loved. But one day, you found a way to jump into your dreams, jump into those alternate realities and live there instead. The darkness is at your heels, of course. But you aren't dead yet. This is a story of survival.
Your character could be a part of a group of characters who have found out how to jump from world to world together [if you have any ideas on how to connect that, let me know. I was thinking maybe a shared hallucinogenic high, which is an idea I got from inception.] Or perhaps your character is a variable. Someone that the jumpers come into contact to in each world, but has a different attitude or style in every world. You might even be the driving force behind the darkness, secretly watching over the jumpers, hunting and laughing. The choice is yours.

I am actually not new. Per se. In fact, I used to use this site all the time a few years ago. Probably about five or six years ago, give or take. I've fallen out of a creative mindset since then, but want to get back into it. I am into science fiction and fantasy style roleplays but hope to be comfortable enough to start branching out into other genres one day. I used to be, actually. I did a few every day life rps, a few pirates, a few schools, but mostly I stick to my fantasticals. The one thing I am not willing and will never be willing to do is anything based on fandoms. Harry Potter? Dr. Who? Avatar? Love them all. Anime? Movies? Television shows? Absolutely. Will I write about them? Absolutely not. I don't and probably never will trust myself with writing inside someone else's massive creation. I'd just end up embarrassing myself.
