That's a damn good way of putting it. But I don't want it to be over.

How fucked up yet unsurprising is it that I don't even know what I want? I miss us, but I want to move on, but I want you back, but I want you to find someone else. Why is love so complicated?

Fun, friends, parties and girls galore. It's like the world really is my oyster now. But you were the pearl. As cheesy as that sounds.

I love and miss you terribly. Get well soon :)

Gideon was impressed by his new mentor. The difference between the Garrison and MP Regiment and the Scouts was already visible. When death was a reality of your day-to-day life and you lived, ate and bled with the same small group of people for any real length of time, any semblance of formality or bloated egos was cast aside. Gideon loved it as few things annoyed him more than pompous, well paid officers throwing their weight around and treating the regular enlisted like children despite their own total lack of experience fighting, suffering in the uncomfortable conditions of the field or even working in general.

Gideon relaxed his posture immediately and glanced over to his right at a female Cadet, about to speak. He heard the quiet THUMP of a fellow Cadet getting kicked in the gut and jumped a little, surprised by the outburst of violence. Once he thought about it however it was fairly predictable. Life as a Scout was brutal and hard and if you couldn't take a beating you didn't belong there. Still, Gideon decided it best to try and avoid raising the ire of his comrades in arms.
"Hey, I'm Gideon."
He said, looking over at the red haired girl (Naomi Falkner) beside him.
"Most of the other Cadets just call me Doc though."
Then one of his comrades decided to mouth off to the mentor.
"Oh crap."
He muttered, looking over at the young man.
"This idiot's gonna' get us killed."
Gideon commented, looking over at Penny and awaiting her infuriated reaction.
Also, Rinee, you can have a third character if you want, I have no issue with that, just try to keep up with all of them.
I'm fine with either one, I personally have only ever watched the English dubbed anime so :P

and you can be any branch you want for now, but later on in the RP all the action will be outside the walls with the Scouts so you can either transfer when the time comes OR we'll find a way to explain your presence (maybe the Scouts bring a Garrison artillery crew or an MP intelligence officer?)
Alright bros, the IC is up. Not as detailed or long as I would like but there's not that much to say anyway. Basically, our respective characters need to start getting to know each other and their mentor and then proceed to the training exercise.
The sun hung high in the sky over the Cadets' training camp, the sky a soft blue, dusted with little puffs of white clouds here and there. A gentle breeze whispered in through the trees and kicked up little waves of dust as it reached the open grounds of the training camp. A small Platoon-sized unit of Cadets had been assembled, a hodgepodge of students from several different Trainee Squads across the Cadet Corps. Several Drill Instructors paced around the formation, eyeing them carefully for any loss of military bearing. A flinch or a shift of weight, any movement other than blinking and breathing at the position of attention was forbidden. Though most of the Cadets in this Corps' class had already been here two years, it wasn't uncommon for some of them to screw up the little basics of military life. These Cadets were all well-disciplined however and the Instructors could find no infraction worthy of their ire. Though they came from all walks of life, these young people all had a lot in common. Their uncommonly flawless discipline was just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Each of them were in excellent condition physically with combat scores that rivaled those of their instructors. The few who were merely average in combat were outstanding in the classroom, breezing through tests of strategy, tactics and occasionally raw information, with ease. Most of them had something else in common as well, an unusually determined desire to join the Scout Regiment...

Standing a few yards in front of the formation, their hands clasped behind their backs, were three soldiers (two women and one man) from the Army. The two females were from the Military Police (Laura Strasse) and Scout Regiment (Elaina Penny) while the male wore the Rose emblem of the Garrison Regiment. The three seemed to be inspecting the Cadets from afar, eyeing each of the youth like one would a fresh fruit, searching for imperfections.

One of the senior Drill Instructors moved to the front of the formation, his trench coat billowing around him in the breeze.
"Cadets!"
He barked, his deep voice booming across the open stretch of ground they'd assembled on.
"Sir!?"
The Cadets cried in unison, each curling their right hands into fists and placing them over their hearts in a salute.
"Each of you has been selected for transfer to a newly formed Squad due to your career aspirations, combat prowess and academic test scores. Standing here before you are representatives of each of the military branches who will mentor you through the rest of your training and help orient you to your chosen career field."
The Drill Instructor explained, stepping to the side and gesturing to each soldier as he spoke.
"From the Military Police, Laura Strasse. From the Scout Regiment, Elaina Penny and from the Garrison Regiment, Hank Darwin. You will all receive instruction and guidance from each of these soldiers, but depending on your chosen branch of service, you will be directly mentored by only one for the rest of your training."

In the second row of the formation, standing a head taller than most of his peers, Cadet Gideon Wallace felt both nervous and excited at the idea of working and training with an actual Scout. The young woman was only a few years older than himself but her demeanor and the way she carried herself spoke of years of experience. He was both intimidated and inspired at the same time. Meanwhile, the Drill Instructor concluded his introduction and explanation of this new turn of events by announcing, in that inhumanly loud and booming voice,
"Cadets! Break ranks and form into your respective groups. Scouts over here, MP over here and Garrison over there!"
The formation shattered into a disorganized mob almost instantly and the Cadets scurried around for a moment before sorting themselves out.

Gideon, along with quite a few others, fell into a new formation in front of Penny. Though their numbers were surprising, given the low recruitment rates for the Scout Regiment, they were still the smallest of the groups. The majority of the Cadets chose the Military Police with a smaller group choosing the Garrison.

"Very well, now that you've made your choices, it's time you start working toward them. Separate into your respective groups, get to the barracks, get to know your new comrades and prepare for a training exercise this afternoon."
The Drill Instructor ordered. And with that, the separate groups parted ways.
Alright, ladies and gentlemen, your new co-GM ^

And since my idea for the op of the ic didn't start any riots, I'll get to work posting it.
Cody - The Pub - Meghan & Hazel

Cody listened attentively to Meghan's story, nodding at certain parts and considering the implications of them.
"Alright, I guess I'll get unpacked and settled in. Thanks again for your hospitality."
He said with a smile, going to open up his large backpack, a red cross patch on the back designating it a medical bag. He went over some of his equipment and supplies and checked everything for damage or depletion. He cast a quick glance across the room again then immediately decided what changes he wanted to make. He drew the curtains over the little window, moved the chest of drawers next to the door (so it could be tipped over as a barricade if necessary) and placed his things around the bed furthest from the door, adjusting the sheets so they hung down on the side visible from the door, concealing whatever might be underneath. In this case, his backpack and body armor, but in an emergency he could slip underneath and out of sight until whatever assailant was present had moved on or turned his back. Finally, Cody penned the sheath of his bayonet between the boxspring and mattress, the hilt outwards so he could grab it quickly from his bed.

Once he was done, he took a look around and smiled a little, happy with his new situation in life. It seemed almost too good to be true.
Watch them turn out to be cannibals and I'M for dinner, or a pair of serial killers, or con artists, or suicide cultists or SOMETHING sinister.
He thought to himself semi-sarcastically, unzipping his uniform jacket and hanging it up. It was surprisingly warm and cozy in the little hotel and as he stepped out into the hall he could smell rice and cheese from downstairs. He loved rice. And cheese was nice too.
Fuck it. I've been watching too many movies. This place is awesome!
Solace, I'm going to avoid canon characters as much as possible but if/when it becomes necessary you can play as the Scout Regiment Commander. In fact, would you like to be a co-GM?
Cody was further surprised by the quick welcome he received. It seemed this little old hotel was basically still working like one. He removed his helmet and clipped it to some webbing on his armor, glancing over the rooms quickly before deciding on the second one down the hallway.
"Tennessee. Well, Texas actually. Both."
He replied, ducking out of his rifle's sling and setting it in the corner of his room.
"I'm from Tennessee but I was stationed at Fort Hood when everything started. My unit was guarding a Refugee Camp for a while, but a few weeks ago we got overrun. The only other camp nearby was outside New Orleans, so I came here to join up with them."
He shrugged,
"They went down not long after mine, so, here I am."
Cody shucked off his vest and set it next to his rifle, now wearing only his uniform (with the Medic's cross patch visible on his chest) and M9 in a thigh holster.
"What about you and Hazel? And this place?"
He asked curiously, looking around the nicely looked after building.
Alright, now that we've got enough people, let's start the IC.

I'm thinking we could begin with our respective characters having it explained to them that they're being grouped together because of their abnormally adept combat skills and desire to join the Scouts. This is where Solace's and Skylar's characters would come in, working as mentors/evaluators for the Cadets. If no one else signs up, we'll just have an NPC from the Garrison Regiment working as a mentor to keep things realistic.

So, we'll introduce the mentors, have the cadets meet each other and socialize (a few of them might already know each other, if the players want to go that route) and then RP some elements of their more exciting training, time skip to graduation and etc. then get on with the exciting points of the roleplay.
