So I know 3.5 mechanics because of some forays into the system @ my college but I'm waaaay more familiar with Pathfinder. Would you allow someone to use Golarion for their backstory since this is Spelljammer and it's downright vast in its variety? Because I have an idea for an archaeologist half-elven arcane caster who sees a chance to find out things he never thought possible travelling the multiverse w/ the mercenaries, but the only archaeological group I can think of in a D&D-esque campaign setting is the Pathfinder Society.

Alternatively, can someone give me a campaign setting with a well-known archaeological guild that would be able to provide arcane casters with training?
Too late to toss my hat into this? Destiny RP sounds awesome.
Personally, I like the kind of magic that exists in Wheel of Time. It's powerful, it taps the fabric of reality itself, but it's also extremely dangerous and you need a lot of practice with it to do anything. People with the talent absolutely need training, or they'll hurt themselves and/or others, and if you screw something up it'll bite you hard. Not to mention the conundrum it poses with how addictive it is to use, but how easy it becomes to slip up and pull too hard on it if you get too greedy for the feeling it gives you.
This sounds super interesting. What kind of magic are you thinking exists here? No magic, low magic? High magic? If it exists, is it an inborn talent or a learned skill, or some combination of the two where only people who are born with the gift and hone it for years are really able to call themselves magicians?

What about the normal people? Are they specifically hardier than normal? How realistic are you aiming for here?
@carla6677 Banned for not having brunette Rapunzel in your avatar.
[Name] Sibyll Ashworth
[Age] 14
[Race] Human
[Languages] Common and Elven

[Background] (Mechanically, the Gladiator Variant of Entertainer, but he's an athlete.)

Sibyll is what you call an active student. His intellect is a little below average, but still plenty sufficient to see him through school. He's not a jock; he doesn't go out of his way to make people feel inferior in the slightest. Quite the opposite; he's always willing to chat with someone who's receptive, even if they don't end up saying much of meaning between the two of them. He enjoys smalltalk and banter while he works on something else. He's a compulsive multitasker, and if he has to focus on one thing he's easily distracted. That's part of why he's so involved with the different teams at school; the kid is on the archery team and the fencing team, and he only recently dropped soccer because of changes to the game schedules would've taken him off the fencing team.

Like many young boys, Sibyll dreams of a grand adventure somewhere away from his hometown. So far, the best he's got is his regular trips to an island a short distance away from the main islands, which he takes with his friends. It's their hangout, but he knows it back to front by this point and he's itching to discover somewhere new and exciting.

You have embraced the power of the Warrior.
You have given up the power of the Mystic.

Is this the path you choose? [Y/N]
Alright. I'm gonna lock in for a Human Fighter. Let me flick through backgrounds again and come up with something. Are we playing kids or adults? The Keyblade seems to like picking kids for whatever reason; I think Aqua and Terra are 17 or 18 and they're either Masters or Master-level combatants.

EDIT: Answered my own question by rereading stuff. Darned brain farts.

Oooh yesss, all of my interest. I'm not sure I can do a canon DC villain and I might want to focus on one character, but I think I could come up with a villain in training.
Or maybe make it 2 more? Because this looks awesome. @clocktowerechos
