Bio

Hello, fellow writers~ I wish to RP to improve my writing, and find interesting encounters along the way! Hopefully all of you who are reading this will help me do that ^.^ Anyway, here are some information about me: I live in Massachusetts, and am a Male College Student :3

Medafighter:

Name: Arata Okada
Age: 11 (Can bump up if needed)
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Skills: Robattle! Arata can also put together his own parts without his parent's help~
History: Born in central Tokyo, Arata was always in the center of technological developments. It was no exception when it came to Medabots, and when they were released. He was waiting for "the right one" to catch his eye. But none of the parts really spoke to him until one day, while watching his favorite anime on TV, a commercial for the new Whitesword robot came out.

Needless to say Arata was excited, and begged his mom to give him some money for the parts. He barely squeaked out the money for the parts, but a Medabot needed more than just medaparts. They needed a medal. Luckily, Arata's father worked at a software company associated to Medabots Co, that developed medals for the Medabots, and so he obtained the Ninja Medal.

Hence Hanzo was born. When he first came to be, Hanzo seemed like an ordinary bot, and he won many fights with it. However, soon enough Arata knew this wasn't an ordinary robot. It was more like, a child, much like himself. Except the bot kept calling him father, every now and then, and Arata was way to young to be married, or have a child.

With the dynamic duo striving to become the world's best Medafighter, will they be able to make it?

Other: His Medabot has a "personality" to it.

@Windicator you should come up with a name for your bot. If you can't Think of one, then we will go with the default, Whitesword or Shinsaber~
@edgeout I'm pretty sure that independence stemmed less from the rare medal and more Metabee being kind of a giant asshole. Most of the other characters were best friends with their medabots, so it's understandable why they'd be more loyal and willing to take orders. I mean, Warbandit had a rare medal and he had pretty much zero personality and just followed orders to the letter.

That's not true. A medarot's personality comes from the medal, not the body parts, hence your first part of the argument is not sound. Secondly, Ikki clearly states in the first episode of the anime that "Medarots should obey their master". However Metabee gets angry and shoots bullets at Ikki. You could see the shop keeper ask himself is the "rare medal" inside Medabee that makes him strong? However he turns aside after seeing the rebellious robot and says, "It's just a prototype." Inferring that Medabee's medal had a personality resembling closer to human that was taken out from the other robots. That, I would argue is independence, and the ability to act out on its own.

Furthermore it's understandable why the Medabot company would have taken out "independence" or the abillity to rebel out of their newer medals - it would be a nuisance to the Medafighters. That's why I insisted on having a "rare medal". Anyone arguing why, my kid shouldn't have the rare medal is not going to change what it did for Medabee's personality.

However, if we assume we are playing a version based off the game, we don't need to worry about that. I can give my robot partner, all the freedom s/he wants. I just wanted to give a reason for an independent nature of my kid's robot.

Lastly to put the argument "it is safely locked up" down. Look at the anime and how "lucky" Ikki got. HE literally thought the rare medal was 500yen. It doesn't really make sense as to how he found the "rare medal" as well. Hence my argument for the kid's dad giving his child a "rare medal" is more reasonable than a happy coincidence, which I can also make up for my kid.

Either way, since you guys, for one reason or another, strongly don't want the incorporation of rare medals whether out of fear or jealousy, I won't incorporate it. This is the LAST TIME I am going to mention "rare medal". I'm tired of arguing for an RP that hasn't even started yet. I suggest you guys do the same, and focus on your own characters. The thread is already made.
@Windicator It was just for the sake of unique personality. Even after re watching couple of the Medarot anime, I still couldn't find a bot that was as independent as Metabee. Sure they were all able to have some personality, but most, if not all, were submissive to their masters.

I just wanted to give you more independence is all. Like how you don't have to agree with what my kid says, and sometimes we can get in a bout. It would be a great story for character development and such. And ofc we won't do the whole "my medal's evolving" type of deal.

On a side note I want to play a Medarot game for english, any suggestions? I want like the most recent one. It can be a fan translated, so long as it works. Otherwise I'll just play Medabot Ax X3
This seems like fun! Though I don't have much experience with the military I want to try this RP~

Okay. Give me a bit, I'm also gming something else so I have to go through a bunch of sheets and critiquing them as well. At a glance your sheet seems to be a lot better. One comment is about the mind control, that's edging into godmod territory since you could control probably the other characters.

I'm not going to say much about mind control because if you read my whole sheet, Genso's right eye's ability is actually not meant for mind control. His left eye was supposed to be, but because he was a failed experiment, he never could perfect mind control. Furthermore, even if Genso was somehow to perfect his "defective" left eye, I won't allow him to use total mind control on other players without the other party agreeing on the action.

For now Genso can barely use his eye power. All he can do at most is alter the memory of a person like he did with the principle. It won't be until way down the line that he can control minds - that is if it even happens.

Oh and take your time~
@RainDash He got info, on the Vongolas. He wants to destroy the next heirs, before taking out the rest of the Vongola trash. My character going forward really depends on the characters around. However, for one way or another, he will (obviously), join the Vongola. Whether it be to destroy from within, or he finds certain characters interesting. From then on it's still going to be an unsteady alliance.
Genso's development will be simmering down of his wrath, finding a meaning to his life (aka friends, family, and perhaps lover). He will never be unselfish, but if all goes well, he will fight alongside the Vongolas for a long time.
If Genso cannot find meaning well, then he will go on to try and kill the Vongola from within, and proceed to annihilate the world. Perhaps he will try to use the Vongola to destroy most of the world and then throw them away.

It's totally up to the players how Genso will develop.
@edgeout

By Spying and Stealth I mean that he is so good at it that it's become a part of him now, Meaning that you will never know where he'll turn up, or who he'll he spying for no reason at all.

The ability to move fast is a trait since he is faster than most other people.

Also your character is pretty cool. He reminds me of Daemon Spade (The first Vongola Guardian of the mist) a little bit. I like the history too, I'm guessing you are going to try and destroy the Vongola or something seeing as you are thr Guardian of the Mist xD. Anyways nhe's pretty cool

That would be his first goal. If your character or others perhaps gives him a purpose to live, he may simmer down a bit. Even then he will be the guardian of the Mist, unpredictable, and an unstable alliance. It all depends on how the RP goes, but Genso's main goal right now is to destroy everything. He's just biding his time ;)

However I don't even know if my character is accepted yet, so don't get your ideas flowing for my character yet~ He may disappear like a (wait for it) Mist XD
Okay so let me get this straight. You want a special medal that the Medabot Company, for some completely unexplainable reason, gifts to everyone working on it even though that would be counterproductive in keeping their new product both rare and hidden. A new and improved version of the thing the world revolves around is definitely not the same as a grandfather clock. This rare medal of yours would also not be the actual rare medals that are already part of the anime setting, and exist entirely to make your character special and different.

You say you can patch up any plot hole about having this medal when your ideas thus far have been deemed cheap even by your partner and amount to "his dad gave it to him somehow because he works there". Ikki found his after it was stolen by a plot device character that's a master thief and also the best medafighter with one of the best medabots. Ikki also found it because he's the protagonist of a story designed around telling his and Metabee's journeys, while this is a collaborative writing exercise.

As Prostagma and I have said, other medabots have personalities. Off the top of my head, Krosserdog ran away from home and Peppercat shows romantic attraction and they're about as dirt normal medabots as you get. If the setting doesn't have rare medals, then there's absolutely no reason why you should get a new type of unique medal you made up and can't justify. If the setting has the anime rare medals, then there's also no reason to have one except to bump your powerlevel over others who don't because that's the lone difference.

I agree that it is a collab experience. I still can vouch for the "rare medal". However if all you guys are going to go apeshit about a made up thing. Then sure. We won't incorporate the medal. LOL

Also I dare your bot to be the headless horseman.
@edgeout You do realize that all medabots demonstrably have personalities in the show, right? Not just the ones with rare medals.

Additionally I was asking for clarification from @mattmanganon on whether this was the game setting or the anime setting. The two have several distinct differences.

That is true. I guess the medal becomes trivial by this point. So, why not have a "rare metal" XD
If not in anime setting it doesn't matter, there is no such thing as a "rare medal" anyway~
Ignore :P :P
