Bio

Hiii, I am Empour. I like roleplaying, but I have some kinda specific tastes. I have been doing this on-and-off for a few years, not always on this site. Be warned, my oldest stuff is exceptionally terrible.

I tend to prefer games which are not set in the present day. I like magic and stuff. Whether that magic takes the form of typical magical magic or "technology," I like it either way. I also loooove Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon and its universe, much more so than the standard one.

I like to create characters based on silly concepts, and then use them seriously to the best of my ability. If my characters sound a little bit ridiculous to you, that's probably intentional.

Previous highlights include:

A colonialist teenage witch, fresh out of magic school and ready to oppress some natives overseas for profit

A spacefaring civilization of communist pixies from beyond the galaxy

A scuba-wearing magical girl in a mysterious, creepy world of dreams and nightmares

A completely paralyzed blacksmith, who could do magnet magic or something

Petra stared at the Umbreon wide-eyed and sitting in a respectful posture quite unlike her, completely ignoring the story which he was starting to tell. He was an explorer! Not just any explorer, either! He was an important explorer! He had an important mission to be on! He was on a mission, to save, the entire town!

And Petra was here to help him!

Petra was here to help him save the entire town!

Petra was going to save the entire town!

Petra was going to be a hero!

Petra opened her mouth to speak, but only let out an extraordinarily embarrassing squeal of delight!

“Y-you’re going to save the entire town!?” she said, getting herself under control.

“What is the danger? What are you gonna do? I wanna know I wanna know!” she exclaimed, talking faster than her mind could think. She was going to be a hero! Forget the stories, she had to know where they were going and how they were going to save Folio!

Petra nodded, as she listened to Karaha. There was a lot of her past that was a mystery to her, too, after all. They weren’t so different! She bet he had all sorts of fun stories to tell, though.

“I’m from the desert. I used to live out here by myself, until one day, I conquered the sandstorm!” she said, imitating a tough march.

“I really wanted to see what was hiding in it, and once I got inside, I climbed all the way up, all by myself,” she continued, “Eventually I got into Folio, and I just sorta stayed there. I’ve been in and out a few times to train and go on secret missions, but that’s about it,”

“Anyway, what sort of things have yooou done? You’re some sort of cool explorer, so you’ve gotta have some stories!” she said, demanding Karaha tell her, as she lead the way in the general direction that Karaha was already moving.

Petra shook her head.

“Nah! I came from outside the village in the first place. I go outside to train every few days,” she said, looking around.

The sun was getting low, they’d taken a long time to get out of the trunk. Petra wasn’t sure how far away the dungeon was, but they probably wouldn’t make it there by nightfall. Petra didn’t have any issues with that, as her night vision was quite good and she didn’t feel tired at all, but Karaha might be a different story.

Wait, Karaha was an umbreon. Umbreons were moon-pokemon, right? Right! They didn’t need to stop at all, they could just go right on and continue their adventure! Probably. She’d just go ahead with what Karaha decided, as he was the expedition leader, after all.

Petra looked around at the landscape. The great tree was still there and still very big, but she could see it from the ground now. She couldn’t, usually. The sun setting behind it caused for a striking, beautiful image, as golden-red colors illuminated the sandstone and sand dunes around the tree. Petra watched it for a few seconds, taking in the beauty. This town really was a gorgeous place.

After a brief while, though, she grew bored, and looked away. She surveyed the area around them, taking in all of the sand, sandstone, and sand that surrounded them. Petra nodded, seeing no cause for alarm.

“What about you, Karaha?” she asked, “Where do you come from?”

Another expedition, huh?

That would work. She’d still be getting the experience and reputation as if she had gone with the others, but she was actually wanted this time. Keeping a secret wouldn’t be an issue, too. Nobody really knew her anyway. She’d be helping someone! From what she understood, Kahara was going to go into this expedition alone anyway. A helping hand would be welcome!

Kahara nodded, and made a mouth-zipping motion. She was ready to go wherever he was going! She would be a valuable helper to him, she was strong! They just had to get there first.

“Okay, um, let’s go!” she said, stepping over to walk alongside Kahara.

Petra stared at Kahara, startled. How did he know? Had he seen their ‘fight’ as well?

“Um, yeah. She was blue, and nice to me after i knocked the Gliscor out. She had to leave quickly though. Do you know her?” she said, slightly nervous that her fib might be exposed. She was also curious, though. Just who was the mysterious Kirlia? It seemed like they wanted to know, too.

“I saw her in the room with the stairs,” she said to Gren, pointing back.

Petra was rapidly finding that she quite disliked several of the group she’d found herself with. They all seemed very intent on getting her to leave, except for the other Aron. He, if anything, was even worse, suggesting that they “hide together” in the event of a challenge. It really felt like none of them were taking her remotely seriously, not even the Sableye. At least the Umbreon didn’t immediately dismiss her story or make fun of her. He even somehow had the insight to see her actual intentions, though that wasn’t really an issue.

Actually, come to think of it, they were guild members. They really ought to know about a terrifying Gliscor who was terrorizing some traveler. Petra decided to ignore the other’s sneers and cuddle-suggestions, and answer the Umbreon instead.

“Yeah! He was composed and alone all right, up until I smacked him,” she said, making a kicking motion with her foot, “He was chasing after a weird Kirlia, going on about how he was gonna murder her and eat the corpse,”

“Also, it doesn’t matter why I want to go down here with you!” she blurted, sidestepping away from Breeze, “All you need to know is that I’m strong and I can help you guys! I know what I’m doing too!”

She shook her head, clearing some of the sand from it. There just had to be a way to convince them all how to let her come with them, there had to.

For some reason, the group was rather insistent on that this mission was “too dangerous,” and “not civilian friendly.” This, obviously, was a load of manure. The other Aron wasn’t a member of the guild so far as she could see, and she was certainly strong enough to hold off any monsters they met. She practically lived in here!

No, for whatever reason, this group didn’t want her to join them, and she wasn’t going to give them the satisfaction of getting her to leave. This was the closest she had come to a proper introduction to the guild she had ever had, and there was no way that she would give it up out of fear.

Besides, she knew her way around dungeons. She’d prove her worth.

“I,” she said, “am not a mere civilian!”

Petra kicked her feet in the sand that still covered the room. There had to be something to prove her worth...

Aha! The Gliscor! She quickly drew a crude shape in the sand that vaguely resembled the pokemon she encountered earlier.

“Just a few minutes ago, I encountered a dangerous outlaw! I was at a disadvantage, but I still beat him!” she squeaked, pointing to her drawing, which she modified to show the Gliscor in a fetal position. She was fibbing a bit on how much time had passed, but they didn’t need to know that.

“I beat him so much that he was knocked out, and was forced out of the dungeon!” Petra continued, raising her head to receive imaginary applause. Her stomach quietly grumbled.

“I can take perfectly good care of myself, and I can help you, too,” she said, “So, uh, please, let me come with you!”
Sorry for the wait there, I was waiting for Lucius to respond, and by the time he did, I didn't have any time to say anything.

“I’m right here, you know!” said Petra, indignant at the Luxio and his ferociously fluffy friend. They had caused her to fall, and they were acting not only like they had nothing to do with it, but also like she wasn’t there! How rude.

“My name’s Petra,” she said, addressing the Sableye and the Aron, “Thanks for helping me up, um, who are you?”

The group was larger than she had anticipated, including what looked to be a total of 5 Pokemon. It was strange to see a party this large moving through dungeons. Petra thought for a moment. Most of the team looked to be guild members, but the Aron didn’t appear to have a badge. Perhaps he was a recruit? If they could bring one recruit along with them, perhaps they wouldn’t object to another. Another, identical to the other? Surely they wouldn’t object to another member.

Maybe this was a chance! Peta had wanted to join the guild for a long time, but never could muster up the courage to go register. Nobody knew her, after all, and the Guildmaster was terrifying. She could be a criminal in disguise. Joining this little caravan meant that, perhaps she could get enough of a reputation to actually sign up!

Before either the Aron or the Sableye could respond, Petra put on her best puppy eyes and immediately asked,

“You guys look like you’re on an adventure. I’m kiinda alone down here, do you think maaaybe I could, you know, join in along you guys maybe?” she said, batting her solid metal eyelids, making slight clinking sounds as she did.
