No one said where the plane had fallen so I just guessed, hope thats alright with you guys.
Jerrot was walking past the two in the water, up toward the town. They seemed alright and would probably not need his help, also he didn't quite want to wade in fully clothed. Just as he reached the tarmac of the beach-side road, he saw a small change in the general light levels, everything became slightly red tinted, just for a millisecond. Then he heard it, the sound stretched out past him pulling his eardrums with it.
Instinctively he covered his ears. The sound took a good few seconds to clear. Jerrot looked up, he ran the sound back to himself in his head. An explosion of massive magnitude, between 340 and 360 meters away. What could have caused it: A petrol station going up in flames? A terrorist bombing? A large vehicle crashing? It sounded too big to have come from a lorry.
Was it an aircraft?.. That seemed to be the only explanation, and this was soon backed up by the pillar of smoke rising in the distance. He started into a light jog, if an aircraft really had come down then there was relatively no chance of anyone surviving from within, but if it had landed in the town, there would be non lethal injuries. He needed to see for himself.
As he jogged he took out his drone from his backpack, it was fully charged, good. He would be able to get around 20min flight time. He linked to it from his eyepiece and took control. It shot from his hands toward the sky, he continued to jog after it as he piloted it down toward the source of the smoke. The camera was poor, he had been meaning to upgrade it soon, he couldn't make out the object. Luckily the aircraft had not fallen in a residential area. As he drew in closer he saw that it was a smaller passenger plane, it was crumpled completely at the nose, its rear sticking awkwardly into the sky above the flames, engulfed in smoke.
He brought the drone back and focused on running. The sounds of people grew in magnitude from all directions. Shouts began to echo through the streets. He passed a few people; a young boy, a group of teens, an empty pushchair... There were less people around, what was going on? The roads were devoid of anyone responsible, a town meeting? Had all the adults already joined the rescue effort, leaving a baby?
He rounded a corner towards the school, a bunch of students were gathered outside the main drive, staring at the tornado of black in the distance. It was but 40 meters away, he decided to short-track through the town school. He ran under the covered concrete walkways, past the classrooms. He didn't look inside, he kept his eyes fixed on the distance.
Just as he reached the top of a small flight of stairs, he nearly bumped into a group of student's leaving their classroom. As he skidded to halt in front of them, his brain was jolting into thought. He wondered out loud...
"Why are there no sirens?"

Iv'e been disusing the zombies with a few people and i'm not sure if people realize that were not talking left4dead, simple level here.
Just a hint when posting please. The zombies in this are supposed to be extremely tough. I'm saying that it's darn difficult to fight even one of them with a bashing weapon. The actual impact needed to cave the skull in requires several hits, and they are sturdy things. Imagine having to take continuous hard whacks at a metal railing, it would jar your arm right.
I get how lots of you would be able to fairly easily take down one if you can get in a good position. But the prospect of taking on more than two in a row with a melle weapon is pretty much zero.
I'm not trying to limit you guy's posts. Just trying to keep it feeling real. Keep our character selves on their toes.

@Desire I was thinking about splitting for a while now, that would be good yeah.
Just take around 4 others into a separate RP, and then when the groups meet have the characters tell the others about it?
Maybe it could stem from some characters looking for supplies and others looking for a place to stay thats safe?
Idk? do what you feel is best, but yeah that would be a big help :)
