I haven't had a Night at the Opera in quite some time.
Title: None
Name: Jane Adriana Guerrero
Alias: "Pockets"
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Blood Type: O+

Has your character killed?: Once.

Characters Appearance: A slight woman with short dark hair, narrow brown eyes, and dusty tan skin. Not someone who'd stand out, and she dresses to be overlooked (or mistaken for a man), favoring well-worn jeans and work shirts. The only accessory she sports is a small pendant that belonged to her mother, and she generally keeps that hidden.

Notable Skills:
Light Fingers:
The talent of making things disappear, whether it's from an unobserved surface or somebody's person.
Knifework: Jane's favorite method of self-defense is staying unnoticed. Her second-favorite is a display of intimidation with a blade. Her least favorite is following through on the threat, but most certainly has that ability.
Hoofing It: When being quiet fails, it helps to be fast. And Jane is fast.

Special Knowledge:
Locksmithing:
While Jane's main concern is the opening of locks, she also has a knack for delicate mechanisms. In another life, she would have made a fine watchmaker.
Streetwise: Growing up in a rough neighborhood and then moving to a rougher one gave Jane an easy familiarity with the criminal element.
Gambling: If it's cards or dice, she's played the game and she knows the cheats.
Art Appreciation: Despite her modest means, Jane was always drawn to the beauty of the visual arts. If anyone asks, though, it's for fencing purposes.

Powers:
Silver Tongue:
Jane can tell a lie, and anyone will believe her for the moment. She could say the sky was green, and you'd believe it until you gave it a moment's thought. Or until you looked up.
What Dreams May Come: On the rare occasion that Jane gets a full night's sleep, she dreams of impossible places; sunken cities, distant planets, the thrones of ancient gods. Sometimes she takes their secrets to the waking world.

Characters Personality: In a word, shifty. She's accustomed enough to dangerous locales that she's always on alert, keeping one eye open for threats wherever they may appear. She can put on a friendly face, but she hasn't trusted anyone since she lost her family. Tends to see acts of kindness as debts to be repaid.

Motivations: "Get rich or die trying, right? I'll take that bet."

Personal Effects:
  • A finely-made Italian stiletto
  • A deck of subtly marked playing cards
  • A small lockbox containing (rather decent) sketches of her dreams

Extra Information: Nothing yet.
I'm definitely interested in joining up.
You've got my interest, I'm a bit of a dabbler in BT lore but I have been picking it up through some of the more recent games and some BPL videos.
Sorry I've gone silent, had a lot going on. I'll try and get back into it as soon as possible, but no need to wait on me at the moment.

Callista had kept quiet as they eventually made their way down to the vaults; Arin seemed to have the situation well in hand, and he clearly had more experience convincing nobility to go along with his plans. So she kept her eyes sharp, watching for any peculiar behavior... Not that there was any shortage of that among their assembled group.

Once the vault was opened, Callista had to catch the gasp of excitement rising from her chest. Anything in here would be a bigger score than she'd ever seen; she understood the appeal now. She was being closely watched, though, and even if that wasn't the case she would have to be a far greater fool than she was to try and sneak herself a bonus. Instead, she listened to the others as she circled the room, running her fingers over the walls and searching for anything out of place.

"Well, between the secret lock and the regular for behind that, we've got some real talent on our hands. Not only would they had to get that secret wall open, with a certain type of blood no less, but our thief would have had to know exactly where that blood needed to be. Either they had to detect the presence of a secret door, Ernestus might be able to check if the magic is visible to a wizard, or they had to observe it being opened."

She sighed and poked at a chipped bit of mortar.

"Still a lot of questions there, I'm afraid... And it doesn't help that I have my own theory to add."

She knocked on the wall and frowned.

"I'm not sure the thief used that door at all. A thief only uses the front door if that's the only option. If I wanted to get into a vault like this, I'd find a weak point in the walls and get in through there... But we'd need more time here to determine that."

She stood up and sighed.

"Is there anything else we should know here, or are you planning on having these fine gents here drag us to our horses?"

"Yep, I think so anyway. Could have eaten something weird, taken a nap, and dreamed being here... Nope, passed the reality check. Heh, which means I'm not dreaming you up..."

Well, that settled it. Nobody else in a dream would consider the possibility... Also, was he hitting on her with that last bit?

So not the time to be focused on that.

Though, looking around the awakening group, she did seem calmer than many of them. One actually pointed it out, and she turned toward him.

"I wouldn't say I'm freaking out... More intrigued than anything. I remember drifting off at the bus stop listening to music, he," she indicated Brenton, "was off camping, one was on the bus... And she," gesturing toward Aubrey this time, "doesn't even sound like she fell asleep at all. So, unless there's a factor we have yet to consider, it doesn't seem like we have anything in common."

Annette sat down on the grass and steepled her fingers in thought, a habit she had formed intentionally as she liked the air of gravitas it lent her.

"So. Not only should we be considering where we are and how we got here... But why are we all here? Is this some kind of coincidence, or were we gathered?"

A rhetorical question, of course. Coincidence is just a word for people who don't know how to spot a pattern.
@Kuroakuma I'd like to reserve a spot as an Occult Club member. I might be interested in the English teacher as a second character as well.
Quite interested! Looks like plenty of well-written setting and secrets to uncover.
