I have several years' experience with roleplaying in a forum like this, mostly with my Sonic the Hedgehog or Rockman.exe fan characters. In the real world, I have a Bachelor's degree in writing and I write reports all day at work. What I crave is to stretch my vocabulary and get back into some creative writing.
Anyone want to join me?
Notes I'm a genteel soul; I like to keep things PG where I can. I prefer RPs with no more than 2-3 total players, to encourage simplicity, but I'm willing try to large groups.

"Whoa!" Zephyr was nearly bowled over by the sheer awesomeness of the magnificent craft in the sky. As an air elemental, he couldn't help but admire the beautiful way it soared through the sky. Pity about those engines, but not everyone could be so gifted as himself.
Rena regarded the new developments critically, ignoring the noisy ship with so many minds and focusing on the small landing party. Determination was the primary emotion she felt. They seemed.. diffrent. Not like other Quadrans she'd met.
Landon waved. "Good morning! Fine day for a nature walk, isn't it?" He shouted, exuding friendliness.
"Landon." Rena's tone held a note of warning. "I'm not sure we can trust them."
"I'm sure it will be fine, Rena. Besides, the bigger our group, the safer we'll be here in the Wilds."
However they would enter the wilds, and for whatever reason, is up to you. :) Whether portal, or snazzy ship. "What's this then? Why are we here? Did you get us lost again?"
Not sure if that's something your characters would do, but it's an idea.
Stepping off the shuttle, Landon adjusted his backpack on his shoulders and took a deep breath once he was clear of the shuttle's propulsion system.
"It's even better than I remember it. Isn't this awesome guys? Nothing but nature all around us. The earth is thriving here." Landon said, turning to his two friends.
Zephyr swatted at a mosquito absentmindedly. "Yeah. Thriving." Zephyr focused and blew at the mosquito, his wind element forcing the small insect to be launched across the clearing.
Landon looked at Rena, and wondered how she'd do on this little camping trip. The shuttle would return to this location in The Wilds in a week. Until then, they'd be on their own.
"How about you, Rena? Isn't this better in the city? Less crowded?" He asked.
The girl had been stepping carefully through the forest's undergrowth, but stopped when she was addressed. "In a way. It's a different sort of crowded. Less pressure, but the animals here are nervous about something."
"Nervous? About us?" Landon asked.
"No. Something more.. universal." Rena said, shifting the weight of her pack. "Are you sure that the weather is going to be ok while we're out here?"
"All the weather reports I saw had favorable conditions. Even if it does start raining, me and Zephyr can handle it." Landon said, smiling.
"I suppose." Rena said, still a little uncertain. All those little minds had to be sensing something that these two city naturalists were missing.
"All right. Let's go!" Landon said, leading the group onto a small path in the foliage. The plants perked up as he passed, and one sunflower seemed to bow in greeting.
Rena and Zephyr followed, both seeming a bit uncertain and hoping they'd come through this week in one piece.

Name- Rena Elliot (First name means peace;joyous song) Nickname/Codename- None yet Age- 20 Gender- Female Origin- Planet Quadra, Fanza system Skin- A pale peach, almost white Eyes- A hard navy blue color, her blind eyes are large, seeming to have untold depth as her pupils are hard to find due to her iris' color. Hair- Her dark hair borders on navy blue or dark purple, and she keeps it short enough so it doesn't go past her chin. Appearance- Standing at 5' 7”, she is slim-shouldered and petite. Rena usually wears black/white outfits such as a white shirt, black pants and shoes and a long black jacket for the sake of matching, since it would be difficult to match colors she can't see. Often wears dark sunglasses characteristic of a blind person. Skills/Abilities- Born with the psychic element's ability to sense minds and personalities around her, she has developed and honed that skill as a secondary sight. She learned the sound element by choice as another way to compensate for her natural disability by using it as a sort of sonar. Weapons- Retractable white walking stick.. (Rarely used, but when it is, it acts as a staff.) Influence- Good Virtue- Neutral Class- None... She's never been able to attain one due to her disability. Race- Human Personality- A fiercly independent spirit, Rena's developed a sort of wry sense of humor, but she does like to have fun when time allows. Sometimes she can seem pessimistic and blunt, but that's only because outside appeareances mean nothing to her since she can't see them. If there's something that needs to be said, she has no fear in saying it. History/Current Status- Rena was born blind and raised in one of the technologically advanced cities on the planet Quadra. Being blind, she's developed a love for music, all the while cringing at anything to do with computers or machines. Like most visually handicapped people, she depends on sound and touch for her view of the world, but her proficiency in her natural psychic element allows her to know more than most blind people about the world through others' experiences that they have shared with her through a mind-link only achieved by touch. Rena decided to learn the sound element due to her love of music and after hearing that it could be used as a second sight if you used it as a sonar. So, she sought out the nearest Force Chamber that promised the element of sound and fought for her right to participate. Only after much argument was she allowed, and while the challenge was not easy for her, she managed to complete it. Now, she is simply looking for something she can be besides an invalid dependent upon others.

History/Current Status- As an earth elemental growing up in the big city, Landon's often feels displaced by all the technology around him. However, his skill with his element, being able to control both plant and earth, has earned him some distinction among the Earth Elemental community.

Weapons- Influence- Good Virtue- Neutral Race- Human/Quadran Personality- Outgoing, Zephyr is unafraid and ready for anything that could come his way. You almost never see this airbender without a mischievous sparkle in his blue eyes or a grin on his face. Always looking for excitement, Zephyr has been known to drag Landon into trouble, especially when they were youngsters. History/Current Status-
Setting: Quadra - a planet largely inhabited by a technologically advanced race.
In spite of their towering sky scrapers and hi-tech gadgets, these people still have ties to the earth. Their ancestors have passed on different elements through their bloodlines. Each family is known by their element, and each family member can have varying degrees of skill within their element.
Some of the more natural elemental families have advocated a return to the elements of their forefathers, and have left the city in search for a simpler way of life.
Unfortunately, the planet has been buffeted by many strong storms over the last couple of months. The weather experts say the worst of the storms have passed, but some residents are less certain. The denizens of the city have some repairs to make, but life continues as normal.
However, one young earth elemental, Landon Sharp, wonders how his family fares out in the wild, and has asked his friends to join him on a mission to find what has become of his relatives.
I'll post my characters once I get their character sheets together. Feel free to brainstorm here or post drafts of the characters you plan on using.
Random ideas that may be incorporated later (not comprehensive, feel free to make suggestions): Fetch quest Rescue mission Escape attempt.. Whether from a natural catastrophe or some villain.. A natural disaster could be interesting with a set of elemental characters.
List of Elements I mentioned earlier. I picture the elements having varying strengths/manifestations within families. Example: An Earth elemental family may have members that can only influence the ground, some may have members that can only influence plants. Stronger members can influence both.
The Four Elements Earth – Earth (includes plants) based magic and manipulation Fire – Fire based magic and manipulation Air – Air/wind (includes gasses) based magic and manipulation Water– Water (or liquids in all it forms) based magic and manipulation
Special Elements Light – Light based magic and manipulation Dark – Dark/shadow based magic and manipulation Crystal – Crystal based magic and manipulation Metal – Metal based magic and manipulation Spirit – Spiritual powers, also encompassing shamanism, spirit mediums, and whatnot. It also coincides with psychic and mystic.
Psychic and Mystic Psychokinetics – Encompasses all mental powers like telepathy, telekinesis, etc. Divination – This encompasses all forms of Divining, such as necromancy, augury, pyromancy, well all of the –mancy and what not. Chi/Ki – Life energy or life force energy, or a person or even the universe (Most likely that’s not accurate but that’s all I can get from my current references)
