Steven Gremlock~Imperium

To say the Goblin felt out of place here would have been an understatement. Between the Minotaur and Centaur pair, the Half Dragon, an Imperial with a strong distaste for mages, and the mysterious hooded human, Gremlock felt like he may have chosen the wrong assignment here. As the group entered the dungeon, his hair stood on end, this place was filled to the brim with magic. To be fair, he expected at least a little magic emanating from this place, given the artifact that was supposedly inside, but this was more of a tidal wave of energy washing over and around him. Clearly the tales of this Eternal Soul Gem were not exaggerated...although if this place was hidden from view of the Archmage, perhaps it was the mass of other artifacts found within. Either case was equally probable.

After the initial shock passed, something else crossed Gremlock's nose...gunpowder? Why would there be gunpowder here, of all places? It had to have been recent, otherwise the smell would have dissipated a long time ago, Question was, if Florence, and a presumably close circle of friends, were the only ones who knew of this place, why would there be gunpowder? When the door opened, a voice rang out, something about a Choir and Voices, but Gremlock's mind was much too focused on other matters to pay much attention. Ghosts, after all, had a tendency of blathering incoherent nonsense, at least as far as Gremlock was concerned.

Regardless, he entered the dungeon behind the rest of the Blades. Around his waist were two Alchemical Salves of Healing, made with Renaltan herbs, two Standard Potions of Fireball, a Basic Potion of Defensive Fortification, and an Empty Potion Bottle. All labeled for this mission, just in case. Soon enough, the Blades ran into an intersection between an old armory and an old dining hall. Both options sounded pretty bad, animated weapons were a probability in a place like this, and the lack of foreseeable dangers in the dining hall was perhaps the biggest danger of all.

It was at this point that the Doctor spoke up "Everyone, I am sensing...well two things actually. The first would be magic, but I guess that would be pretty obvious. The second however, is gunpowder, recently fired gunpowder if I'm not mistaken. Florence, did you or anyone you know of send forces to this place before we came here? On to the matter at hand though, I think we should head down the dining hall, armories in magical places have a nasty habit of being filled with weapons that are either useless, or trying to kill you. Still, I'm okay for either direction, just as long as we pick one!"
As far as concerns about Abimael potentially defecting, I'm not really sure. I could be totally wrong on this, but I get the feeling Eve has very good persuasion traits like Nathaniel, so I personally think the chances of him defecting are about equal on either side. Personally, I'd prefer Shadow Zone simply because I theorize that he won't defect so long as we don't start desecrating bodies or generally acting like madmen. Only place where he wouldn't stand much chance of defecting is at U-ARM wing, but I have doubts that he'd be terribly effective there as U-ARM is probably well trained to handle mutants.

Maria Black seems to be one of the more contested options here. She could do well against either side, though I really think she'd be best for U-ARM. My reasoning here is that her shield is explicitly resistant to tank shells, while it seems to be unproven against mutants. Not to mention that rifle would be amazing against those power suit units the Central Apartment guys had the pleasure of seeing. If you want something against the stronger mutants, I think Carolyn's mech should be up to the challenge.

Morai Lee seems to be mostly unanimous, so I won't go into too much detail. Suffice it to say I don't think one NPC's gonna be enough support for the U-ARM, as they're far tougher than I think we're making them out to be.

Antoinette...I've mostly changed my opinion of her for the Shadow Zone team, if only for the extra mech and the anti-stealth capabilities the doggie can provide. Even then, there's nothing saying she can't send the doggie down the Retrieval Team if they're having issues.

Derek should be pretty mobile, I agree. That said, I think that even with the threat of anti air he might be able to lob a shot or two at those mortars before they realize they actually need anti-air. Could just be dreaming there.

On an unrelated note: OOC post coming when I'm less swamped by schoolwork.
Putting my support behind Jorick's plans, though I can relate to Holmshire's concerns. I'd say that if not enough PCs related to him go to the shadow zone mission, then put him in retrieval. That said I don't know if it makes that much of a difference, I think Eve's also been stacking diplomacy buffs which means she could potentially convince/brainwash Abimael into attacking the Retrieval Team if things go sour.
Signing up for the U-ARM Wing.

EDIT: Also some suggestions on where to put our agents.

Abimael: Shadow Zone Wing: Being from the shadow zone himself, he can potentially clue us into typical tactics used by the mutants. Also can avoid being absorbed by mutants, which is always a plus.

Colonel Marie Black: U-ARM Wing: Ballistics Shield that can stop tank rounds? Guess who's probably going to be using tanks this mission!

Specialist Carolyn Antoinette: Retrieval Team: Ditzy should be able to help scan the position of Eve fairly easily, and if she has any weird thermal effects, the dog will know. The mech itself will help take down anybody that gets through the blockade somehow and/or any minions Eve might have.

Sergeant Morai Lee: Either Wing (not Retrieval Team): Not sure which wing he should go into, but given that his skillset includes pre-set explosives, I don't see him being that useful for the Retrieval Team. Not only will Eve likely be moving all over the place, but explosives carry the risk of injuring her too much (though they might not, I could see him setting up an explosive trap for Eve, but I don't want to be the one to explain to the Council why we brought back a crispy charred corpse).

Captain "Daring" Derek: Retrieval Team (Initially): The fact that he's in the air will be a big benefit towards finding Eve quickly. However, once Eve is found, the only real use I see is dropping a firebomb to block her way, so after he does that I feel like he should help the wing that's struggling the worst. Probably the one that doesn't have an extra man unless contact with Eve goes especially sour.
Haven't forgotten about this, I'm just wanting to fix my CS before posting.

Checklist: (More for my use but eh).
Fix Grammar
Use Official (Third Person) descriptions for traits
Add Gremlock's Notes to each trait.
Scrap the Elephant Gun. Potentially replace it with two Emergency Pistols (essentially loaded pistols without spare ammo to shoot them again.)
Put a permanent bayonet for the musket.

Marvin Walters
--Precision Shooting: In a mech, this is achievement worthy. (Bonuses to accuracy.)
--Supremely Uninteresting: Believe it or not, Marvin doesn't look like an appetizing target initially. That's a mistake the enemy doesn't get to make twice if Marvin has anything to say about it. (Until Marvin opens fire, enemies generally don't take interest in him.)

Haha, I like these. Maybe I ought to consider getting an instruction manual on making rather more interesting characters. ;_;

... It is approved. Though fragile. Beware.

Okay...is there any way to make it slightly less fragile, or is that what comes in the territory of Aerial Drones? Also, if it does end up destroyed somehow, can I remake it at the end of the mission?

Officially putting the Drone Deployment and Control Center in the Back.

Finally, I'm wondering if I can make the following for my miscellaneous inventory:
Scavenger's Box: Nothing is worse than trying to scavenge items only for them to bounce around in the cockpit and cause a concussion or lasceration. Thus this small box allows the holder to store items safely. Marvin has added some clamps to the cockpit of his mech to stash this box in to keep it with him at all times. Radiation proof!

I suppose the main question is: How big is my cockpit, and can it store something like this? (It would be about the size of the chainsword I would guess)

@Everyone (Especially Grunts): I added Light Machine Guns and Submachine Guns to the custom weapon selection. If you want, you can exchange your current weapon to a new one for free, along with weapon mod changes. It's been pointed out to me repeatedly that these things are missing. NOT ANYMORE!

Just so you know, you did add them to the Custom Weapon part, but you did not add a description of those two weapons under Weapon Choice. Not sure if you intended to put something there or not.

For that matter, what's the difference between a LMG and a SMG? (I don't play a lot of fps games :P)
All right, so I think I've decided on some upgrades for Marvin. At the moment I'm planning on a more horizontal (more guns, slots, etc) approach before going vertical (better guns, tech, etc).

Thus, here's what I have.
1x Right Shoulder Slot (both shoulders if at all possible). Shifting the HE Missiles there.
Installing a .50 Calibur Mini Gun in the Right Arm
1x Torso Slot. Installing a Motion Detection Package.
1x Back or Torso Slot (not sure which I want to do)
1x Invented Item:
Drone Deployment and Control Center: This package, about the size of a small backpack, allows for the deployment of aerial drones, controlled by the pilot's glove. Drones are stored inside of it, which recharges their batteries and protects them from onslaught. It's current capacity is only one drone, but can be upgraded to hold more. Also comes with the programming make use of the cameras aboard the drones.

Speaking of the Drone...
Valkyrie Mk. I:

Type: Aerial Drone
Equipment: Drone Sub Machine Gun, Video Cameras (Ability to see in any direction at once).
Description: This rather simple drone design has often been cited as little more than a gun with a helicopter on it. However, this drone is highly prized for it's mobility, being able to get into places that would be highly hazardous. Perhaps the most striking aspect is not it's weapon, but rather the camera that Marvin placed into it. This makes it a valuable scout, able to see dangerous areas before sending in the more vulnerable (and valuable) humans. With the Drone Deployment and Control Center, the pilot can see everything the drone sees.

Ability Gain:
Technology Marches On: All pilots are now equipped with a pair of nanotech gloves which have wireless technology. State of the art, these gloves allow them to attempt to hijack the controls of an opposing mech at short range, and grant them access to a small, mechanized companion. This can be anything from a small aerial gun drone to a robotic puppy. Their "companion" has two ability slots and so long as there is no interference in the gloves, will obey every command given to them.

The gloves are also quite hardy and thick to protect the nanotechnology, however, they aren't indestructible. Given that you will typically be wearing these gloves however, if they are damaged, it should be noted that the amount of force or heat to damage them will likely completely wreck the user's hand. So it's only a small concern, so long as the technology isn't hit with an electromagnetic pulse or other similar device-ruining weapon.

I want to make a note and go on record of how bad things are going to get if Florence takes control of the Imperium. This is me calling that the situation in the Imperium is going to spiral into a death circle. Also losing one of the most powerful magic users ever. Literally powerful enough to keep 100'000 people alive for 10'000 years through a bitter civil war, one who owes her people returning to the land of the living to the Queens and the rest of their gang is probably a bad thing. More so when you consider we'll instead be dealing with the man responsible for nearly destroying the Imperium during their 10'000 year feud.Dunno. Seems like a bad call to me.

Hmm...eh I suppose you are right. Switching my vote back to Imperium. I suppose I have to hope the RNG is kind and doesn't drop Rhinefield or Renalta on us. Because those two dropping would also be bad imo.
Eh, I don't like doing this, but I don't want Rhinefield or Renalta getting skipped, so I think I'll change Gremlock's vote to Rhinefield (if I'm allowed to do that). Assuming I'm allowed to do that, I may switch back if more people vote.
