I have been away from roleplaying for several years due to time constraints, but I am very interested in delving back into the creative writing world. Over the past few months, I have cast my lines into many RP ponds, but have come back with naught but disappointment. I have some "odd" requirements for my roleplays, it seems, but perhaps I will finally find someone who matches my interests!
- Being away from the RP scene for some time and not being in a field where creative writing is smiled upon, I am a little self-conscious about my abilities, so please do be tolerant. I used to be quite good at this back in the day, so I am sure my abilities/confidence shall return in due time.
- I am working a bit this summer, so I will probably be able to post maybe once a day or every other day.
- I generally post about 3-5 paragraphs per post. When I am really excited about a portion of the plot, I will often write far more than that (2-3 Microsoft Word pages). I expect at least 1-2 paragraphs from you, and something to move the plot along. Just give me something to work with!
Here is what is hopefully a description of you!
- Wants to contribute to the plot. We are both "game mods" here! Sling those suggestions my way, or just throw things out there. It's your game, too.
- Will play side characters as needed. Again, it is easier for us both to have plot control if we both control side characters!
- Will tell me when you are on vacation or something. I know we all have lives, but let me know if you will be gone for a long time! :)
- Will be understanding that I am not entirely confident in myself!
- Will respect my limits (see below). I will respect yours!
Ah, here are those seemingly odd requirements I mentioned earlier! Hopefully you shan't find these terribly strict, as most people seem to do.
- I have strict limits regarding content. Please keep everything at a PG-13 level. Violence and language is okay, just limit sexual content. Fade to black.
- Romance is never a central theme in my plots, though I am perfectly fine with it occurring.
- I always main male characters. I will have female side characters, if necessary.
- My main characters are always over the age of 25 and are usually closer to the 30-35 range. Please make your MAIN character about the same age, so we can have more interesting interactions.
- This would be a Casual - Advanced RP. No chatspeak or one-liners here!
Plot IdeasI have never done a mystery roleplay before, but I think it would be a lot of fun! Being a fan of a lot of detective shows and novels, I would like to experiment with a detective roleplay, in which we could develop some great mysteries for our characters to solve. Having the shared trauma and close-knit groups of a police/FBI setting would also help our characters develop in fascinating ways.
Right now I don't have much of the details of the plot worked out, but that is where you come in! I want your input, so we can whip up a RP tailor-made for the both of us. As of now, I just have a loose idea. The plot of the RP would center around a pair of detectives/ FBI agents who are partners, and who have worked together for some time. I think it would be fun to have one character be male and the other female, though it would be fine to have both males, too.
