This Rp sounds interesting, is there still a place for a wanderer like me?
Shepard felt disappointed. She hoped that Zeto could give her a little bit more information. She didn´t say anything that Shepard did not already knew. She sighed again, only one Shepard could be angry on was herself. It was only her mistake that they rode blindly into action, but it will be her team who will pay for it.
“Thinning their numbers would be an obvious choice in an every situation but this, I am afraid. We are here to rescue Miss T´Soni, not to fight the Geth. And Geth are here for same purpose. We are just a minor obstacle. If they kill us, good for them, but their goal is to get the Asari, not us. We don’t have enough time to utilize the hit and run tactic, we must rush to the excavation site and get her before they will.
She waited a while before giving the final order, maybe waiting for opinions of her team, still calculating an outcome of every possible move they could make, but she could think just about one viable thing to do, a very stupid thing. “Let´s keep moving. Be fast, but careful. The road is going to get very bumpy…”

The way led them to a small sort of valley. An excellent spot for a trap, Shepard thought and didn´t forgot to remind her teammates to be careful. If Geth planned to attack them, she would bet they will do it here. The Mako had a little space to manoeuvre and possible Geth platforms would have an easy time lining their shots from heightened place. Shepard just hold her teeth together and hoped that Geth would miss this opportunity to make her life more difficult.
Unfortunately they didn´t. It wasn´t even few moments and she could see the lights of the Geth on the cliffs and feel the first shots that hit the vehicle´s shield. “Bumpy road indeed…” she whispered silently and returned fire.
Zeto was right, there was definitely more enemies ahead. The platform she just shot was deployed just to test the water to. Geth just wanted to see what is Mako really capable of Shepard gave them a good show. She was sure that Geth will be much more prepared on them.
Shepard was angry on herself. She was riding right into jaws of hell itself she didn´t even have a decent intel on her enemy. Numbers, exact specifications of Geth weaponry or Geth themselves… Information like this could be always useful and in situations like this, they could be even vital.

They were riding blind into unknown waters and Shepard never liked surprises. She had enjoyed a way more than a fair amount of them and they were never pleasant.
Like that time when that wild thresher maw appeared out of the ground right under Shepard´s squad and slaughtered them. With experiences like that, she was already sick of surprises and feared what things could be Geth hiding behind the next rock.
A thought stroke her mind. “Zeto, how many Geth can fit into that drop ship? What weapons can they carry, is there something that could just flat out wipe us?” She didn´t need to thoroughly search Alliance or Citadel archives, she had much more reliable source information right on the next seat.
I am sorry it´s taking me ages to rspond, but it´s summer and I have a lot of things to do. I will try to respon today, but please be patient if I won´t.
Shepad chuckled at Zeto´s words. She still felt a little bit of adrenalin in her veins. "Don´t tell me you didn´t enjoy it! What can be more fun than a deep deployment with success rate around eighty percent!" She was just joking, it was around ninety.
Shepard doubted that fall did any damage to the vehicle, but hearing it confirmed by someone with technical expertise was still kind of relieving.
She sighed a little. Normandy dropped them pretty far from targeted location and it will take them some time to ride there. She scoped the surrounding and sighed even more. The planet was flat out boring. Just brown and red mountains everywhere with remains after mining operations of some kind. Maybe archaeologist, maybe prospectors. Shepard didn´t really cared that much.
She couldn´t really believe that Protheans actually lived there. That there were cities swarmed with people. Now it was just a ball of dust rich witch natural resources, striped of live. Fifty thousand years and there was almost nothing left to remind its previous glory. Shepard wondered if the same thing happens to humans. If they just slowly pass away and disappear like Protheans, just to be historical curiosity for future space wanderers. She hoped that humans will be little bit more louder, when they fall.
Joker´s voice interrupted Shepard from falling deeper to her thoughts. "We have a company." "Geth?" she asked in response. The question answered itself when few big objects fallen down from the sky near the Mako. Shepard zoomed in and saw three quadrapedal shooting platforms with characteristically Geth design.

"The enemy is here!" shouted on her two teammates. "Prepare for evasive manoeuvres," she added when she saw that Geths flashlight heads were turning towards the vehicle and shooting somekind of energy projectiles. It was kind of pointless order, as Garrus surely knew how to behave under fire, but she always wanted to say something like this.
When she was younger, she was quite fond of old science fiction novels that had been written before that sci-fi turned to be reality and she couldn´t help herself to use some lines from time to time.
She aimed the cannon at the closest Geth and begin with spaying it with Mako´s machine gun. It wasn´t the strongest weapon Mako had, but it was effective against shields and that was everything Shepard needed right now. When she took out most of the Geth´s shields she finished it with well aimed shot from the cannon and looked for another target.
That´s always a good thing.
Attack? So soon? She hoped to have at least some time to get used to all these new things around... She sighed, it was always like this. Fate rarely gave her an opportunity to acclimate. Most of the time, it just threw her into the water and watch her drowning. He is was son of bitch, this fate.
Lilian slightly looked at her helmet before putting it on. It was create to remind a moth´s head and it looked a kind of cute, in an abominable manner. She liked it.
Armoured up, she only needed a weapon. Honestly, Lilian had no idea what kind of weapon should she take. She never actually used anything deadlier than a teaser. Her usual way of fighting was to aim low and run fast.
She just stopped for the while, looking at the weapon cabinet look women in her age usually did at cloth stores.
Should she pick a sword? No, too chliché. Axe? No, she is no woodcutter. Morningstar? She would probably hit herself with the spiky thing. Dagger? Only idiot would take dagger into swordfight. Bow? Pointless, she had a gun.
Only thing that really took her attention was the mace. She expected something heavy and brutal that would be probably be a wet dream of every metalist from northern Europe, but what she saw a surprisingly elegant weapon. It was a hammer, with rather small head and with haft so long that it almost looked like a some kind of polearm, or polemace, to be accurate. She immediately fell in love with it. She picked it up and sprinted to the helicopter. Others was surely waiting just for her.
Well, if you want us to take a melee weapon, why is there a bow included in the list? :D
Shepard smiled when Qurian looked at her, but said nothing. She remembered her first "deep" deployment with Mako. She couldn´t believe that they are really going to be dropped with only thin can to protect them. She wanted to protest or to ask some questions at least, but her commanding officer just chuckled, pushed the button and sent them right to the ground. What was happening next was both, one of the most terrifying and in same time one of the most awesome thing she had ever experienced.
She loved the heights. Something always attracted her to them and falling from height like that was just making her feel so alive.

She took her place at cannon this time. She had bad feeling about this mission and after being surprised by Geths on the last one, she didn´t want to take any risks. Shepard buckled herself on the seat and asked others if they did same. Then ordered to go, when she heard affirmative response.
Mako´s motor silently hummed and the tank slowly drove off the platform it was standing on.
Shepard was suddenly pushed into her seatbelts and felt familiar pressure in her temples and ears. It wasn´t very comfortable, but Shepard still wanted to yell like a little children on a roller coaster
They were in the air just a few moments and then the landing came. Braking jets slowly turned on and slowed the speed of descending. so it won´t kill them. Another few moments passed and Mako finally landed on the ground.
"Well, that was fun. Now let´s find miss T´Soni."
Name: Edwin Blackwater

Backstory: Edwin was a son of a lesser lord. His family had small piece of land in the south of Veronia, mostly known for its great vineyards. They were wealthy enough to have anything they ever needed, but they were still too poor and far from Royal city to really participate in Veronian politics.
Edwin was a second son and always the black sheep of the family, living in the shadow of his older sibling. Edwin was smarter than his brother, he was better with a sword and when their father fell ill, it was Edwin who was keeping their business together.
But it was still not enough. No matter what Edwin did, his brother was always the better one, at least in eyes of their father and everyone around.. Edwin, disgusted by this, decided to run from home and join military. Something his father took with great displeasure and even disinherit him.

Edwin hoped that in military, he will be finally valued because of his skills and capabilities, but his hopes proved to be wrong. There were two types of people in Veronian army: poor who wanted the steady wages and rich who wanted to enhance their fat pockets with bribes.
Edwin was surrounded by incompetence and corruption on every step. But he didn´t give up and tried to change the established order. He made his name in fights against raiding parties and foreign marauders and achieved a pretty high rank among his peers. He earned respect of his soldiers and remade them into actually capable fighting force, but when he wanted to make more general changes, or tried to weed out the incompetent among his seniors, he was immediately shot down and transferred into closest backwater.

In his exile, he was visited by a strange man carrying king´s signet. The man ordered Edwin to lead a raid into another country. His task was to find an imprisoned Veronian ambassador, free him and get him home in absolute secrecy. Edwin took this mission as a way to prove himself again and maybe regain his old position.
The mission was successful. He and five of trustworthy men crossed borders at night, infiltrated the city and made their way into prison. Well placed distraction with element of surprise on their side, gave them a perfect opportunity to get in there and before anyone noticed, ambassador was free and on his way back to Veronia.
After delivering the man, Edwin learned that the stranger, who ordered the mission, was Veronian spymaster, Hawk. He told him that mission was only a test of his skills and offered him a job among king´s players. Edwin accepted almost immediately.

Skills:
ex-military officer used to lead from both, general´s tent and front
skilled combatant both on horse (he used to ride with hussars) and on his own feet (trained by professional swordsman when he was young)
familiar with Veronian politics (knows who is from which noble family, what they have and what they want)

Miscellaneous: Edwin is pragmatism and opportunism incarnate, and he is willing to do literally anything to success in his mission. He also has deep connections in Veronian army with few veterans still loyal to him.
