Where: Defence Force Five Building

Commander Black: “OK recruits I will only say things once so pay attention, so listen when I speak and we will get along nicely.”

She did not have time for them to play fools today, they had a lot to go over and some had not turned up yet but she could not hold it off. Commander Black herself was a mother figure but don’t ever call her mother or mum as she is your superior even if you rank higher than her. She is your commander and you will lesson to her.

Commander: “Follow me, OK first I will show you where you will be staying. Your rooms will be on site so we can tell where you are at all times…… Evil does not sleep, it does not take a break and more importantly evil will not destroy itself.”

She leads them to the east side of the site, here were there quarters. A lovely complex where each room had a bedroom and private bathroom. The group would share the kitchen and common room and each will look after the property in question. Each had an assigned room in the same block and soon started handing key cards out. Calvin Miller had room three, Steve Smith had room four and Emmaline Coolridge had room one. The other two recruits had two and five.

Commander Black: “My room is right across the hall from this block, I am here to help when you need it so don’t be shy. Now I would normally let you look your room over first but instead I am going to show you the rest of this place then you can do that. Now come with me.”

She quickly leads them to the gym and shows them around. The gym had 12 treadmills, 12 work out benches, 12 weight stations, 12 training cycles as well as other things. There were four halls for private training and team based games. On the south side of this building was a juice and relaxation bar. To the left of that were three message rooms for those who needed it. The gym was open planned, glass panels ran round the room letting all the light in. In fact the this room had no real walls except for the rooms that were separate such as the juice bar, private halls and message rooms. The gym was also equipped with many TV’s which displayed different channels though a few were news channels. On top of that six powerful monitors were placed around the gym in certain spots, four of them being in the four corners of the room. Music would always be played, right now some metal track was playing, the gym owner loved himself thrash in the afternoon.

Commander Black: “This is where you will train, four times a week you will run cross country at 6am in the morning. Four days a week you will be here in the gym working out because the Defence Force Five always need to stay fit. Of course you will have free time so you don’t need to moan about that. Now I will show you one of the more important rooms, the war room or control centre if you will.”

She soon leads them to the most important room for the Defence Force Five. This building was in the centre and was the tallest building which stuck out like a sore thumb. In the lobby a statue could be seen of another Defence Force Five team, each posed in a different position. The thing was one of the members had a black sack on their head with a big red X across it. The lobby was very modern but the war room/control centre was very futuristic. Neon lights going off every second of the day, a big war table in the middle, many computers and machines doing various jobs and about 24 techs were scattered across the room. To the left was the suit up room where they would put there suits, weapons and other things were stored. In fact there was so much in this building it would be impossible to show them everything within 24 hours.

Commander Black then leads them back to the lobby.

Commander Black: “Well I should show you more but I am not sure if everything has sunk in so I will go over the rules. If you need me use your DF5 Phone which will be given to you in the next 24 hours or you can visit my office which is over there, I am available everyday between 8am-8pm. OK now more importantly you need to follow these rules:

1. If you leave the grounds please tell me or one of the others you have. During your free time leaving the grounds is an option.
2. Don’t start a fight with each other; if you do I will punish both of you. Sounds unfair but this is the real world.
3. Don’t play hero, no matter how good you are one cannot do things alone, trust me I know.
4. No running in the hallways…….. That was a joke.
5. If you must have your girlfriend/boyfriend over please state they are coming or if you are dating each other than keep certain things for the bed room
6. You must look after your equipment, we have techs to look them over and repair them but you need to make sure they work before entering the field.
7. No one should know you are a Defence Force Five member; evil will use friends, family and others you know against you.
8. You must attend all gym sessions, you must attend all classes but the good news for the classes is you have it once a week.
9. There are more rules but I will bring them up later……

Now does anyone have a question?”

The statue of the five old members was seen again, she hoped no one would ask about that but curiosity was something all humans had and waited to hear someone ask about it.

Emmaline followed iin silence with her hands crossed behind her back. She built a mental layout of the facilty.

She had a feeling this Commander Black didn't want anyone ask about the statue but she also got the feeling that subconciously he wanted someone to ask. "I have several. My first is why was I chosen? My record clearly points out I am not a team player, I spent a good porton of my post miliitary career working solo when I did work with someone it was usually over coms. How do you expect to win with just five people? Last time I heard the news there were attacks in more than five countries with untold number of attacks in numerous cities. Finally that statue clearly indicates that we aren't the first team. We all know that we can die doing this job, so my question is what is the deal wiith the X?" She asked in a heavy Israeli accent.

As Steve followed the woman, he barelly payed attention. He woudn't care less about where everything is except for the gym, wich is where he would spent most of his time, harnishing his body to the max so that he atleast had the strenght to give a good punch to the enemies.
As they came to the gym, a grin appeared on his face, this almost seemed like heaven for him! As he heared the schedule for how many times they would train and that they even had classes they had to follow he sighed... He tought he was done with school, but instead he had to follow classes here aswell... As the tour ended, he glanced at the statue, but didn't care less, except for that big X.
"Same question here, what's up with that X? Did he betray the DFF or something?"
Steve looked at the commander, as another question popped into his head.
"And with the ranks, how will they be given? Are they given on performance? Or are they given because of something else?"
This was something Steve was intrueged by, because if he could rank up fast, he wouldn't have to worry that much anymore if there would be any rookie joining the team.

Calvin followed Commander Black around the complex, trying to hide the fact that he was completely stoned. There were two other recruits, but from what he could tell, there were a few who hadn't shown up yet. They went to their rooms, the gym, and the control center before finally stopping in the lobby. Calvin looked up at the statue of what he assumed was the previous Defense Force Five. The other recruits had questions about the sack with the red X over it, and Calvin decided to speak up as well.
"Yeah, I kinda want to know who that dude is, too."
Besides that, he didn't have any other questions that weren't already asked.

Commander Black turns to Emmaline because she spoke up first. The three recruits were let’s say different but at least they were here. The first question being why she was picked, even though she was someone who did things solo. She had dealt with one of those solo type people before and let’s just say she turned them around and got them to work in the team effectively.

Commander Black: “Well the DF5 is a whole different world and going in solo will get you killed. I think, no I know you will be a team player or you will die trying. I will turn your record from one man soldier to a team player. How do I expect five people to win? Well the other five did it until that thing happened. Also you are equipped with some of the best equipment we could make, the only way to die is if you are pissing about or the enemy puts you at odds with each other making you less effective. Then there’s the other way, but I am not going to bring it up. You are not the only DF5 force out there, we have five teams in other countries and if this goes well we will be expanding. The difference is you are the main force.”

Soon the other question came up and Commander Black needed to stop ending tours here and it seemed to prompt that question. She had to think of a way of talking about it though she hated talking about it. Her mind ran through a few ways of doing it but none of them were pleasant. Since Steve asked a question she jumped to his as it was easier to talk about.

Commander Black: “Ranks are based on performance and service. We have about five ranks, one is the hardest to get and in no way means you will get it. Basically you will go up one when you had enough experience or wowed me enough to give you a promotion. So hit the gym, don’t fight with one another and stop the bad guys.”

She soon turns to Calvin and seeing he was stoned, the signs were clear as she was trained to spot these things. He asked about the statue as well making Commander Black sigh.

Commander Black: “Well as you already pointed out they are the original DF5, I had them under my service for a good five years. We had our ups, we had our downs but we were good and we were effective. In some ways you could say I felt attached to them but I know I was proud of them. During the final battle that took place in Central city the members had to deal with this tough enemy, do you remember hearing about it? Well because I don’t really want to talk about it I will just say the one with the X on is not allowed to be named or seen so we put the sack with the X on. Because of their previous record and because this team lasted so long it is here to remember them, the good times anyway. The things is are you wondering where they are now, if so we don’t have time for that now but maybe later I will say?”

Commander Black: “If there is nothing else we should see if the suits fit you, follow me.”

She leads them to the lab next door as the storage room did not have their stuff in there yet. Once inside there would be three suits along with helmets, each shaped differently based on the animal spirit sitting there in the colour they chose, they just had to try them on.

Commander Black: “Don’t worry, you only have to put them on yourself once, after that you can do that thing where it will appear on you when you activate your DF5 phone which is more than a hone but is mainly a phone. They will come with a coin with the animal spirit that represents you, never let it leave your sight as without it you just have a phone, but at the same time don’t leave it in your phone either or the battle mode will be active. The coins themselves were sitting on the table on the other side of the room and o they had to go get them as well. Now try them on.”

As Steve followed the commander, he only thought about being obedient for the time being, his main goal now was to gain ranks fast, so that he didn't had to listen to the lower life, for it was something he hated, he hated to be a puppet for someone else's sake and if he had the highest rank, then he didn't had to listen to anyone!
As they entered the lab, Steve immediately noticed the black suit, once the commander was done talking about them he glanced at the other two who apparently where his team members from this day forward.
As he saw no one would go first, he stepped forward towards the table with the coins, at first glance he almost laughed, were they serieus about these coins?! The pictures on them were lame and he didn't even wanted to be one of these spirits, but he had to choose...
With a quick glance he then took the dragon coin and placed it inside his phone, as he then walked up towards the black suit wich he preferred the most.
He slowly suited up, and noticed the difference in his body, this was amazing!
"Guys, this is insane! The suit even modifies our body's!"
He felt a power surging trough him, wich he quite enjoyed!

Emmaline had no idea about any fight in Central City. Hell she didn't know anything about the Defense Force Five thing until they recruited her. As for the monsters they fought she hadn't heard about them until she saw and fought some in New York City on her world tour.

She had vowed to never work for anyone ever again especially if it was government work. She was thinking of starting her own company, none of the options she could think of were as interesting as fighting monsters.

She looked at the coins, she didn't know much about animal spirits except some nonsensical idiots put a lot of stock in to it at the detriment of anything resembling intelligence. She thought it was coincidental her spirit animal was Israel's national animal, which was the one & only thought she put into hers.

She picked up her coin and put it in her pocket. She found her suit & disrobed immediately so she could put on the suit. It fit, way to snug for her liking especially in the rear, felt like she was in the process of getting a wedgie. She did like the way it supported her up top.

"Worn worse, worn better. Have one more question where's the shooting range?"

Lilian followed the commander in a total silence. Not that she would be all that shy, she was just still a little bit overwhelmed by the opportunity she get. Kid from the street get to fight evildoers. It was just like from some kind of infantile, science fiction movie she never had a stomach to watch. But she was here, in headquarters of top secret organization fighting villians that didn´t know they belonged just to comic books.
She almost laughed aloud when she recalled her friend, saying that when she stops with drugs, there will be less weird shit happening to her. Here she was, clear like a lily in pack of wet tissues but the shit around her was weirder than ever.

Commander Black looked like a strong woman. Strong, strict and straight. To man S if you asked Lilian. She didn´t know what, but something told that their relationship won´t be all that sunny. She and authorities just doesn´t get well with themselves.
Her new comrades also looked like quite an interesting bunch of people.
First there was this woman. She looked like Black, in some ways, but much more predatory. She looked like someone who eats Mexican luchadores for breakfast and drink it down with tears of hardened veterans from legion etrangere. If there was anyone Lilian wanted on her side, it was her. There is no friend like the one who can gut a bear with bare hands.
Beside the woman, there were also two guys, rabbits. None of them looked like anything extra. First looked like if somebody just pissed in his morning cofee and second one... was just so high she had to check if his feet actually touched the ground.
And she was supposed to work with material like that...

She remained in silence even in main lobby. There were no particular questions on her mind. She didn´t really cared about what had the room to offer or who were her predecessors. She was she and they were they. Whatever happened to them, for Lilian waited another fate.
The room itself wasn´t very appealing to her. She disliked the everpresent light of neons. They were just too cold for her.

The storage room was way more interesting. Lilian could finally see what was the equipment everyone was making so much fuss about.
Honestly, her first impression was dissapointment. She excepted something hi-tech, something that will yell "I am bad motherfucker!", and the suits were quite different from what had she imagined. But she still tried one on.
Suits might have looked little bit silly from distance, they have even looked a little bit silly from close, but wearing it was like nothing Lilian ever experienced.
It reinforced her stance, toughen her muscles and sent a wave of energy trough her body. She felt like she could nail a concrete wall just by punching it.
She hated that phrase, but nothing more fitting came on her mind. "This is coool!"

Calvin followed the commander to the storage room. He walked over to the table, and picked up one of the coins. There was a manta ray engraved into it. He put it in his pocket, then went to try the suit on. Although it looked like something from a kid's TV show, once he put it on he saw that it was anything but an ordinary costume. He felt power surge through him as he put it on. He couldn't wait to see what he could do with it.
"Dude, this is awesome!" He said. The others seemed to be enjoying the power the suits gave them as well, except the one who had gotten the grey suit. All she wanted to do was find the shooting range.

Steve was the first to step up and it sounded like he was pleased with it based on what he said. Emmaline seemed to be not as impressed but she did not know too much about it so it was not a problem but she seemed to want some action when she asked about a shooting range. Lilian and Calvin seemed to like it from what Commander Black heard. She soon turned to Emmaline to answer her question but as she did the sites siren went off. That meant one thing, something was attacking the city and this meant they would have their first taste of action with the Defence Force Five. Since they were down a member she would have to fill in, since they had their suits on she had to put her one on.

She pulls out her DF5 phone and presses a through number which was clearly a code and before they knew it she changed into a suit, this one was a mix of silver and black and her helmet was in the shape of a crocodile. Her voice was now slightly different because of the helmet.

“OK DF5, to the DF5 Helipad, don’t forget your gun and weapon of choice. You can have a sword, mace, axe, bow, dagger, or morning star. The last is dangerous but very powerful. I will tell you more about your suit in battle. The helipad is just to the south of here, meet me at helipad one, our travel arrangements should be sorted.”

Soon she was gone to prep the DF5 helicopter while they picked there weapon and get there bearings before making their way to the DF5 chopper. Once they made it to the chopper they would see a jet black modified helicopter that has never been seen used outside the DF5. It was armoured to the point that being shot down was near impossible unless rigged to blow from the inside out. It had four rocket launchers, four machine guns, black bullet proof windows; it could carry eight in the back and two in the front. A weapon rack was present for weapon storage as they travel. The blades themselves span at dangerous speeds and were sharp enough to slice things into a million pieces.

Commander Black was at the front, one of them would also be at the front. Each of them would learn how to fly this but only one would be the main driver. Commander Black would not always be with them but someone would, most likely a tech or air craft expert. This was not the only thing they could play with. The DF5 had cars, trucks, tanks and other land and sea based vehicles.

Emmaline grabbed her helmet and put it on. She then grabbed her gun and the bow. On the way out she picked up her pants and pulled the coin out and stuffed it into her suit. She then went to the helicopter and hopped into the co-pilot's seat. "Not that different to the ones from back home, except more durable." She examined the pistol. "Good balance, trigger pull weight is perfect." She examined the bow. "Perfect balance, the front is diamond sharpened." She leaned back into her seat. "So other than the type I saw and fought in New York City with little to no help from the local LEOs are there other types? What about that phone?"

As Steve was checking out his suit, he enjoyed the power that was surging trough him... It was something that boosted his muscles and body to a whole new level!
As the alarms went off, Steve looked at the rest, was it already time to fight?! Steve wasn't good with weapons... That was for sure... The only weapon he truelly knew was a glaive... As he stared at the weapons he sighs... There wasn't any glaive between them... Nor could Steve see any of them in the room...
Steve walked away from the weapons, and went towards the chopper. As he glanced inside he could already see the commander and Emmaline sitting in it, he smiled, it was time for some action! Time to test out this suit! And... Steve sighs again... He coudn't test any weapon...
As he wanted to enter the chopper, his phone started to glow, a mere second later, two glaives { The Glaives } were attached to Steve's back, he grins and grabs them from his back, PERFECT! They were just perfect for Steve! He could now fight with a weapon he was used to, and even would be able to kill some enemies off in the mean time!
Steve entered the chopper as he sat down in the back, his glaives were back on his suit and he closed his eyes to wait for the moment that hey had to jump into action, for soon he would have to control his anger... He coudn't bring the team into danger, just because he has an anger problem...

Attack? So soon? She hoped to have at least some time to get used to all these new things around... She sighed, it was always like this. Fate rarely gave her an opportunity to acclimate. Most of the time, it just threw her into the water and watch her drowning. He is was son of bitch, this fate.
Lilian slightly looked at her helmet before putting it on. It was create to remind a moth´s head and it looked a kind of cute, in an abominable manner. She liked it.
Armoured up, she only needed a weapon. Honestly, Lilian had no idea what kind of weapon should she take. She never actually used anything deadlier than a teaser. Her usual way of fighting was to aim low and run fast.
She just stopped for the while, looking at the weapon cabinet look women in her age usually did at cloth stores.
Should she pick a sword? No, too chliché. Axe? No, she is no woodcutter. Morningstar? She would probably hit herself with the spiky thing. Dagger? Only idiot would take dagger into swordfight. Bow? Pointless, she had a gun.
Only thing that really took her attention was the mace. She expected something heavy and brutal that would be probably be a wet dream of every metalist from northern Europe, but what she saw a surprisingly elegant weapon. It was a hammer, with rather small head and with haft so long that it almost looked like a some kind of polearm, or polemace, to be accurate. She immediately fell in love with it. She picked it up and sprinted to the helicopter. Others was surely waiting just for her.

Moments after they had put on their suits, the alarm went off. They were all told to grab a weapon and follow Commander Black to the helipad. Calvin looked over the weapons, unsure of which on he was going to pick. There was a sword, a mace, an axe, a bow, a dagger, and a morning star sitting in front of him. He picked up the sword, and followed the commander. He got into the helicopter with the others, prepared to take off.

Commander Black was soon joined by Emmaline who sat right next to her and even asked her two questions. She would answer the phone question first. As she answered she checked to see if the others were on board before flicking a few switches before getting the helicopter off the helipad. She was very experienced and so the lifting off part was done with no slip ups.

C.B: “Well first thing is it is not really a phone, it is more of a multi-purpose communicator. I just call it a phone because it is one of the functions you and I will be using during your DF5 service. The other feature which you will be using is the time saving suit up one, when the number combine is put in the suit will form around you with your weapons following. It also has a tracker if you or anyone on your team is separated. Was there something in particular you wanted to know?”

Her eyes stayed in front of the craft though she did say something to the others.

C.D: “I would take this time to get to know your team mates. They will be the ones watching your back and you will be doing the same back. So ask questions and learn a bit about each other before we get there. Maybe there name? Why they joined? Maybe something else?”

She was talking to the people in the back. Her eyes kept watch as they travelled to the east part of the city making her say.

C.B: “Types? Do you mean monster types or types of evil? If so then the answer is we have so many that it is safe to say we are never truly safe, I am sure if you are round long enough you will see a lot. What in particular is it you want to know?”

"As for the 'phone' I meant when do we get it. As for types of monsters I meant do they have progressively stronger ones because if they are all like the ones I fought in New York City, then I don't really see the need for this suit. Not that I don't mind the way it flatters my curves, I do really enjoy the support it provides in a certain area, never found support that good in a store."

She had been studying the others. "I can work with all but the blue guy, he is stoned out of his gourd. Back when I was still in the military, if he was in the unit I commanded I would have made sure he spent several years in the brig, I would then make sure his cell mate was the biggest, toughest, son of a bitch there was who would make the stoner his little bitch. Just ask the newest shemale porn star in Israel."

C.B: "Well your phones need a little more work, but it is possible you can get one later today. Well yes I would say so, the first time round we went from basic monsters to more advance monster within a few weeks but I don't think we will be seeing any basic monsters. In fact there was one who would reflect physical damage and send it right back but with double the force. They only managed to beat it using there long ranged weapons and all of them hitting the creature in the same spot. Believe me stronger monsters will appear, some will be more personal and will try to exploit your weaknesses, being in a team should help you over come that. In fact there was a point where we thought we lost the DF5 but we soon managed to get them back. They were legally dead for five minutes but somehow there brain cells did not die off, we are still research why that is."

She paused for a moment.

C.B: "Well I am afraid you are going to have to work with him, who knows he may actually save you one day, remember I said maybe. I know he I stoned but I hope to turn him around at some point, the DF5 need to be alert not baked, they need to be smart not out of their mind and so on. Also you have quite the imagination on you, but looking a your face I can see it is something you would do. Just like the stoner I hope to turn you into a team player, it won't be easy but I won't give up on you. I mean I have done it before with the last batch of the DF5. Anything else? That goes for you in the back as well."
