Background: Alexander Vulchanov, nicknamed Lyosha (Old Russian version of Alexander) was a boy when the war broke out and finally the bombs fell. He had been grabbed and carried into the Park Pobedy station with many others. He survived in the care of his foster parents, learning to hunt rats with a pellet rifle and eventually stepping up into a stalker's shoes when his Stepfather never returned from the surface. After Park Pobedy fell everyone who made it out turned to Kievskaya for help. Lyosha bought himself a rifle and began stalking the surface (much to his stepmom's contempt). At one point he came across a stray Nosalis that slashed him across the face, putting the beast down with just a knife.
