Congratulations prospector! After completing your lightspeed journey to the far reaches of the Frax Nebula, you have arrived on Bellion IV, GoodPick Incorporated’s newest mining acquisition! I’m sure you’re ready to get out there and explore the stars, but just a couple of things before you don that mining suit. As you know, the Hiphirax crystals required to hyper jump are quite expensive, so it is our duty to inform you that your travel expenses amount to approximately 840,372 Imperial Merits. Cant pay? No worries! We here and GoodPick incorporated are happy to provide indebted Space travelers with 5 star accommodation, (bunkhouse or shanty town) pristine work environments, (incredibly hazardous caves full of deadly fumes and insects) all at your convenience! (You are now legal property of GoodPick incorporated until your outstanding fees are paid.) With the standard 62% fatality rate per mining expedition, we’re always looking for new members of the GP family, and we’re sure you won’t disappoint! After viewing this video, you will find all of your personal belongings and cargo confiscated, and used to pay off your hefty debt. For our sake and yours, don’t resist.

And from our founder Montgomery Egelstein, fine mining and watch out for the Tremblers.

OOC explanation:

Hello fine reader! This a bit of a different roleplay, not sure how much interest this will attract but hopeful! In this setting you aren’t a galaxy hopping rogue, or a magic user, or a hero, you’re a fugitive, pioneer, corporate shill, spaceship plumber, who has unfortunately knowingly or not succumbed the will of GoodPick incorporated, the nebulas most monopolistic, largest, and most dangerous mining company. With a host of badly damaged, severely used or malfunctioning mining equipment you’ll sink deep below Bellion IV’s crust, in search of all things shiny and rare. In doing so you’ll have to deal with the native population, hives of chittering bug horrors called Tremblers that seek to consume the very thing that’s your ticket back to the surface, that precious ore. Don’t worry though, they certainly don’t mind a human side dish! With your ragtag group of exhausted, terrified mining pals you’ll be forced deeper and deeper into the pits of the planet, mining for your retirement funds, and your lives! Ore that you successfully bring back up to the surface can be brought directly to the company for a small stipend and a chunk off your debt, or sold to the black market to purchase some less well worn and, not on fire equipment. Or you know, to jury rig a mining drill to fly off the planet, or start a revolution, or destroy the queen of the Tremblers and save the universe, or anything else you can think of!

I know this is a bit of an eclectic write up but I love this idea, and I hope you do too! Let me know if you’re interested, looking for 4-6 players :)
@Paradoxial

We probably have to do a soft-reboot at least. This was badly delayed (my fault), one player hasn't been seen in five months, and while anyone who wants to continue can continue, we may have to do a time-jump or something to "reset" things a bit.

You are welcome to join, of course.

I’m aware, I read through everything, hence why I’m looking to jump in now since you guys are restarting.
Just stumbled upon this thread. If you guys are looking for new people I’d be down to make a shaman :)
If we can get one more person I’ll make it official :) thank you all for the interest!
I know you are full, but if a spot opens up message me! seems really fun and I would love to join in if someone drops out. Thanks anyways :)
Interested!

Steeling themselves, the pitiful remnants of the city's once proud populace descended. In the ancient halls of kingship they found the Dwarfs, now naught but gnawed bones and scraps of cloth. And there they saw by the dying light of their torches the myriad eyes about them, glittering like liquid midnight as the rats closed in for the kill. The manlings stood back to back and fought for their lives, but against such implacable ferocity and countless numbers of the verminous horde, their weapons were useless. The tide of monstrous rats flowed over them one by one, dragging them down to be torn apart, the yellow chisel-teeth sinking into their soft-flesh, the dark furred mass drowning their pitiful screams with their hideous chittering...

General Description

Welcome! This is a Roleplay set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, where you will take control of Skaven, monstrous, backstabbing, greedy, evil rat men who fester below the crust of the world and believe themselves to be the superior race. This particular situation takes place in the newly dug under-city below a dwarven stronghold, Karak Skyscrape. As players you will start at the lowest rank, lowly Skavenslaves of the fledgling clan Gutit, and must trick and beguile your way through through the twisted society being brought up around you to gain power and prestige. A Skaven is never truly safe, so you must constantly be on guard, whether in your nest or on the battlefield. A basic knowledge of Skaven is helpful but not required, any essential info will he explained beforehand. I haven’t seen a Skaven roleplay in a while so I thought i would poke around here to see if anyone would be interested. Thank you for reading :)
Outpost 9: The Storm

lock it down, all of it. The storm is going to get worse, and you all know that they come with it. DC is covered, last predictions say it’s tendrils had just reached Texas... this is truly the end. All of the other outposts have gone dark, god knows what’s happened to them. We knew the technology was experimental, but only 1 out of 10? Count yourself lucky. This is really the end. No evacuation incoming, no supplies incoming, no help incoming. Can’t even see out the goddamn window, let alone get goods down to Alaska. We’re down to a skeleton crew here, if that gives you any indication of how bad it is. Every national guard, every military personnel, all police, CIA, FBI, have been instructed to retreat to the whitehouse, and there’s barely a hundred of us here. Only a matter of days before the power runs out, and when that happens... a selfish part of me wishes we had tested your tech here instead of in those frozen wastes. I hope for you, and for humanities sake that whatever that thing you keep in the lower level is it keeps functioning. God help us all.

General Overview

Outpost 9 is a horror, survival roleplay that takes place in an isolated outpost, deep in the Alaskan mountains. Due to unexplained events, a second frozen age descended upon the earth. And for those that managed to keep warm enough to survive, the never ending blizzard brought with it strange, apex predators. Society did not even have enough time to properly research them, let alone name them, so they remain as faceless, formless entities that seek only to hunt the feeble remnants of humanity, thriving in the new frost. As the world crumbled in the face of this new Age, a gruesome breakthrough was achieved. It was discovered that by capturing one of the predators and implanting it into the newly created Ryker Device, one could ward away the predators from a small area. And yet these devices were fickle, prone to failing, with not nearly enough to perfect the device. You are scientists, soldiers, or refugees that take shelter in outpost 9. You have been informed that your Ryker Device was the only one of its kind to work properly, and your fellow other outposts fell prey to the predators and never ending cold. You are tasked with surviving the new world, by scavenging supplies and food, keeping the Ryker Device working properly, and maintaining the outposts vital mechanical parts functioning. To safeguard the last remnants of humanity, you must protect the outpost and even venture beyond it to secure the supplies you need to survive. You will have to make decisions that affect the life or death of the outpost. Research hydroponics and heating, to grow your own food? Or study the horrifying creature inside the Ryker Device, and attempt to unlock its secrets before it fails? The choices are yours, and every one of them could be your last.

some boring stuff
Hello! My name is Paradoxial and this is an idea I’ve been cooking up for a while. Kinda rough right now I know, but hopefully interesting nevertheless! I’m looking ideally for 3-6 players, and will begin to work on the full project if this gets suitable interest. Thanks for checking it out, and I hope I can see you in the outpost. I tried to start this a few months ago but had to back out because of some pretty serious IRL stuff, but I’m back now and still really want to pull this off :)

Thank you guys for the interest! Working on the OOC now, should have some updates for ya coming soon.
Thank you guys for the interest! I’m just looking for one more, and then I’ll start developing this more. Fingers crossed!
