Dew Islet

Ryu watched as his sparring partner jumped to the side and took almost no damage. He also saw the attack to the shoulder coming as well. He was still in mid swing and very little options were left for him to take. He could block the incoming attack or minimize damage. After wasting too much time thinking about how to act, Ryu's body began to act on it's own. He lifted his sword to block the attack and set it self up for an odd tactic. Once the kunai made contact with his sword, Ryu lifted his sheath and chucked it tomahawk style at Natsume's head. He then jumped back away from Natsume, Planted his sword into the ground, and began to form his hands into the Tiger had seal. Once he properly formed the hand seal, he released his chakra and announced, "Water Clone Jutsu." An almost perfect replica, of Ryu, raised its self from the water behind Natsume. He picked up his sword and got ready for another charge. This time she was going to face a two sided attack. Both Ryu and his clone charged at Natsume.
Just before either of the two Ryu's reached Natsume, Ryu noticed that there was a new presence on the small island. Without much delay, he took his sword and jammed it into the ground. He used Swift as a breaking mechanism and it had worked. He stopped a few feet short of Natsume. He then cancelled the water clone jutsu and the Ryu, that was charging from behind Natsume, melted into a muddy puddle on the ground. Ryu looked at Natsume and smiled. " I did say it was until our new teammate arrived. I'm a man of my word so I concede the match." He said with the smile still on his face.

Ryu got pushed backwards across the sand. He didn't go far, but it was enough to leave a large trail in the ground. He was surprised, just for a moment, that she would step into the blow and get under his guard, but that surprise was soon overwritten with a sense of calm. He had to keep control of the fight and not lose focus. He began to close the the distance with another burst of speed. This time he took his sheath and swung it along with the sword. The sword was aiming at her kunai hand, and the sheath was aiming at her left leg. He knew that he was open to a counter attack, and knew that he could probably react to it in time. He had purposely aimed the sheath at her outer leg, because he could change direction of the sheaths swing if she decided to counter attack. If he could pin her kunai arm between his sheath and his sword, he could possibly maintain control of the fight and win the match. He had learned this feint when he was training with his mother. She said that it was a popular tactic that his father used whenever he wanted to test the opponent on his or her witts. Now Ryu, just like his father did, was testing Natsume. Will she see through the feint and take the appropriate action or fall into his trap.

Ryu allowed his smile to fade as he focused his senses on his new opponent. He watched as she pulled out a kunai and then proceeded to put herself into a defensive posture. It seemed she was awaiting the first move. This gave Ryu enough time to observe his environment. The mist was still dense, a small breeze interchanged between the north and south direction, and the sand beneath his feet was a very fine grain. He knew these conditions would become important and he made a note to remember them when needed. Ryu, after the brief scan of the environment, took his stance. He crouched down winding up his legs for a push, and planted his sheathed sword into the ground. He took one last deep breath and began. With a quick burst of speed, Ryu pushed against the sand with his legs and his sword with his arms. The combined action was able to accelerate him to his maximum speed faster than if he would have push off normally on the loose sand. Halfway through the jump start, He pulled his sword out of the ground and began to unsheathe it. By the time he reached Natsume, Ryu had completely unsheathed Swift and had it ready to strike. With his sheath in his left hand and Swift in the other, Ryu sent an attack flying at Natsume's guarding hand. He was, of course, using the back side of his sword, because he didn't wan't to cause any damage that would need extensive medical treatment to repair.

Ryu smiled as Natsume asked about Swift. Swordsmanship was a good portion of his life and he enjoyed every second of it. He reached behind his back and detached Swift and its sheath. He quickley moved it between his hands and then laid it on the ground before him. "I have some skills. I have a long way before I hit my goal though." He spoke in a very calm voice. He quickley picked up his sword with his left hand and stood up. "If you want to find out how good of a swordsman I am, how about we spar a little? At least until our last teammate arrives." He said with a smile. He knew she didn't mean what she said as a challenge, but having the knowledge of what your teammates are capable of is a essential tool when on a mission.

Ryu closed his eyes as the silence between them spread. He began to wonder if he said something wrong and offended her. He didn't like offending anyone, but he never really notices if he does or not. He pondered on what he said, until Natsume gave him a title of a book. He hadn't actually read Snow on the Ocean, but he had seen it in the stores before. He was a little suprised to see that she had answered his question and decided to give one in return, "The Last Breath" He didn't really say anything else, but he sat up and turned around to look at Natsume. The girl was looking through the mist and awaiting their new teammate. He began to wonder about the young maidens back story. They had just met and he didn't want to overstep any boundries, so he let his imagination wander through all the possible happenings of the young Yuki clan member's history.

Ryu watched the girl carefully as she spoke. He wasn't sure what to think of the girl quite yet, but she seemed harmless enough to open up a little bit to her. He walked a few feet backwards towards the water and plopped down on his butt. "It's okay if your not good with people. All that matters is getting the point across. If you manage that, you can communicate almost anybody." He said with his back turned yo the girl. He sat in the akward silence for a little bit and then continued to speak, "Take this as an example. What is your favorite book? Play? Food? Just simple one or two word answers to these questions create a deeper bond between the two or more people communicating," He chuckled as he took a small breath, "I guess I got a little carried away with my own thoughts. Sorry you had to listen to such nonsense." Ryu laid back and laid down in the sand. He hasn't let his guard down completely, but he decided that nothing eventfull will most likely happen until the last member of the team arrives.

Ryu saw that Natsume was looking at him when he broke through the last layer of mist. Hey eyes darted between him and the sword on his back. This reaction wasn't new to Ryu. Many people had been caught off guard to see someone as young as Ryu carrying a sword. They were even more thrown off when they found out the he knows how to use it as well, but in the end, Swift always makes the first impression. Ryu listened as Natsume asked who he was and he relaxed just a little. He walked over and bowed slightly towards Natusme, "I'm Ryu Heisui. It is a pleasure to meet you, Natsume," He said politely, "Oh! And this is Swift." He pointed at his sword. He knew that the sword didn't need to be introduced, but he respected the name his father gave it. So he always introduced Swift to teammates and friends like it was a person.
Ryu stepped outside of his home and took a deep breath. The mist in the air entered his lungs and exited on the exhale. The air was cool and that was how he liked it. He smiled as the cool air helped clear his head. He shouldn't have anything to worry about. He was confident in his skills and was determined enough to face whatever his new sensei threw at him. Ryu closed his eyes and continued to allow the air clear his senses. It wasn't until he heard the sounds of a bird that he was brought back to reality. When he opened his eyes, there was a small grey messenger bird sitting on the railing next to him. Ryu smiled at the bird knowing it was the message he was waiting for. He reached for the bird and received the message. The bird flew away, and Ryu opened the message.

Team 2.
Ryu Heisui
Jizo Uzuwaru
Natsume Yuki

You are to convene on the morning dew Islet, east of the village. You will await further instructions there.

Ryu didn't need any more of a direction. He stood up onto his feet, secured swift onto his back, and started his walk over to the dew Islet. It was during the walk over that Ryu decided to look over the names that he was given. He skipped over his name and started to read the others. He recognized the two names on the paper, but he didn't know too much about them. He had heard of the Yuki clan before, and remembered something about others hating the girl because of this heritage. Ryu didn't view himself as the person to judge a person due to their heritage, but he judged them by their morals and personality. Ryu looked up and noticed that he was almost to the target destination and cut over onto the water. He is still a little uneasy walking on the water, but he knew enough to make it to the island without any real problems.

When Ryu reached the island, he saw a lone figure through the mist and approached it. When he got close enough, he could make out the form of a young maiden. He automatically assumed it was Natsume Yuki, but he didn't want get too ahead of himself. As he moved closer and closer to the figure, Ryu made out more details of the girl before him. She had black hair that flowed down past her shoulders, and cold blue eyes. He remembered seeing her at the academy before, but he had never really connected the name to the body. "Greetings! I assume your one of my new teammates, Natsume, right?" Ryu said with a small smile.
All good from my end.
A small island or a beach like area sounds good to me.
