Lady Tottenham strolled along the road, lifting her dress to avoid the dirty beggar children.
"Filthy things," she muttered as she climbed aboard a horse-drawn carriage. "Lazy beings." She squealed in mingled terror and disgust as the bundle of cloth next to her moved. It was a ragged child. "Well, what can we do about it?" asked the shabby little girl. Lady Tottenham was outraged.
"How dare you speak to me like that! Of course, you have to...welll, obviously..."She faltered. The girl smirked and jumped off the back of the carriage. Lady Tottenham continued her journey, thoughtful..

Avantia is in turmoil. The lords and ladies wallow in wealth while small beggar children ask for crumbs. Some brave souls try to even out the situation, but assassinations, robberies, downright theft...they are all common words in this scared, tense, hostile world. The knights leisurely sit by, holding competitions and flirting with the ladies whilst their horses are better fed than a quarter of the kingdom.
But now YOU are here. YOU can change the world. You can save the kingdom. YOU could become a feared assassin, a plundering bandit.
