Sage, zero plans for the merc, but if you don't want to bother with capturing him don't worry about it. If you do, he'll probably be setting up camp near the downed transport shuttle that B came in on.
"Just outside of Kell. Now I'm travelling with this lady, Ciara. Something's off about her, but she saved me from this military guy. Brought a big tree branch down on him." She sipped the orange juice. "This is really fresh, thanks."
There was a hint of doubt in Poitr's mind, but he tried not to let it show. "She will. Worst-case? I'll sneak you out to the forest, but that won't happen. The party where I met Lindsey was hosted by church officials. Neither of us really wanted to be there. She did the funniest impression of the Bishop -" Poitr decided this wasn't the time to ramble. "- She's never been one to ... accept things the way they are. She's ambitious, and that's one of the many reasons I fell in love with her."

Despite his reassurances, the more Poitr thought about how Lindsey would react the more he questioned his original assumptions. Playing through the conversations in his mind, he couldn't predict Lindsey's reaction to 'Our new daughter is a shapeshifter,' no matter how he built up to or worded it. "At work, there were plenty of people who were jealous of her success because she was a woman. Many of those traditional beliefs, that women shouldn't be in positions of power, are rooted in the church."

Poitr realized the reassurances he had been telling himself about Lindsey didn't quite hold up. "I'll see if she's free for lunch today, and I'll tell her then."
I should've thought of this before for the hiatus. Anyone want to adopt an npc? There's a nondescript mercenary in the woods miles from anyone else and Kell, and night is falling. I have zero attachment to him whatsoever. Anyone want to write from him? He parachuted out of a transport ship that crashed. He doesn't know that everyone is dead yet.

Want to help him survive? Maim him? Make him starve? Murder him? The adopt-an-npc program is live! It's more like rent an npc, let's say you get one poast with him.
Feel free to take control of/write dialogue for the Sister if you feel it's the appropriate time for her to butt in. No specific plans for that NPC in the near future.
Poitr smiled. "Yes, I do want to take care of you. And Lauren does too. She doesn't know that you're a shapeshifter yet, but I'm positive she will understand."

Poitr thought carefully about Ella's request. "The werewolf or the boy?" The thought of seeing a werewolf, or even just Ella seeing a werewolf, made Poitr uncomfortable. "I can promise to try. People here might notice if we try to go into the forest, especially if it's every full moon." The boy on the other hand didn't make Poitr feel uneasy. What did was going deep into the forest. "I'm just worried. We don't want anyone catching on."

Poitr realized his paranoia might not be the best thing for Ella right now. "When we're at my house - our house - you won't have to be worried. You can be yourself." The idea that she was a shapeshifter still made Poitr slightly uneasy, but the idea that Ella could actually become part of his family grew on him more and more.
I'm not too worried about the small hiatus. With the holidays the site was down a ton anyways, and people were busy doing other things.
B sat on a stool a few seats away from Romy and Perry. "Hi Fredrik. How are you? I'll have some orange juice. I need to relax." She felt she needed to justify not ordering a coffee. "Could I get some breakfast too? Two eggs over easy, wheat toast, and hash browns. Triple the normal serving of hash browns, if it isn't a problem. Do you want anything Z?"

"I'll just rest in a booth." The tigress' voice was deep and powerful, but quiet. "I have been in your mind for a year now, I'll give you some space." Z was a part of her now, and she fully accepted that. She didn't say anything though. Maybe Z wanted her space?

B turned to Romy and Perry. "I wish I could actually have a meal this size. I ate more than four thousand calories some days while training."
"Where do you want to go once you leave here?" Poitr wanted to ask her before Sister Lazenby showed up. "Do you want to try to go back to the forest?" Poitr thought that, if needed, he could smuggle her out. Or if he had to, adopt her then have her run away... that would be hard to explain to Lindsey, though. "If you wanted, you could come live with me in my house."

More than anything else, Poitr was anxious. He had no idea what to expect now that he put the offer out there. He cared for this girl, there was no doubt about that. He knew that he wanted to protect her. Would that be enough? Would Ella fit in? Would Poitr and Lindsey be what Ella needed? He promised himself that, if she said yes, he would do his best to be a great father. He wouldn't ignore her, like his own father did. He would put Ella in front of work if the need be, even if it meant hiring someone else to pick up his responsibilities.
Ok. The info on spirit helps a ton for B's backstory. I wanted to have her train and push the limits of spirit (It's what she did with her body as a gymnast,) but I didn't really know the effects it would have. I'm going to write a whole timetable of B's time at Sovereign including her training, which she can only seriously do during safe times at Sovereign.

It'll be nice to have a project that doesn't *require* constantly checking the website. Also I got a new laptop! No longer doing this from my phone :)
