Intro

It all started with an idea. Just a small hint, nothing huge or complicated. Something that could change the world, make us see the people surrounding us differently. Something that'll make people see that even the most untouchable, seemingly perfect members of our society are human. What if we took the celebrities and set them up with random, normal people? And what if we televised it?

The general plan was to take a handful of celebrities -actors, singers, comedians, anyone well-known enough to have at least a prominent fanbase- and a handful of members of the public and dump them all into a remote, secluded area far from the reach of society. The goal? Well, entertainment of course! There will be highs and lows, fights and make-outs, enemies forming and romance blossoming; all to the joy of the watching public.

So, a mansion was built somewhere near Hawaii suited to house up to twenty guests, the idea was for ten celebrities and ten small-town young adults to be picked at random once applying. For the celebrities, it might just be a publicity stunt, or chance to relax without the constant pressure of being famous. For the small-towns, maybe it's their claim to fame, or maybe they're just looking for love?

This letter has been sent to inform you that the application that you have sent forward to the 'Strangers' programme has been accepted. As a reminder, a short explanation of the programme will be provided below:

The Strangers Programme provides an opportunity for those seeking more in life, those who are not satisfied with their current social status, or those who just need a chance to let go. Participants will be taken to a luxury mansion located in a secluded area near Hawaii, and joined by nineteen other participants. The programme length depends on viewer interest. The more viewers, the more time the participants will spend in the mansion with the others. Participants consist of ten chosen celebrities, and ten chosen members of the public. It is permitted and encouraged for relationships to be formed and built throughout the experience, for the public's and, more importantly, your own entertainment.

Enclosed in this envelope is a list of necessary items to pack for your trip, your flight times and tickets, and contact information if you have any questions or queries regarding your journey.

We hope to see you in the near future.

Avery- I can see Rafe really liking when Avery shows her strength and in a way probably really looks up to her for that strength. Since he's naturally really calm and collected, I could possibly see him attempting to help when she has a panic attack? Either way, I could definitely see them as friends who probably met through one of the others.

Yeah, I can really see that working! I expect that Avery will think Rafe to be the first person to go to regarding her anxiety, perhaps telling him how she truly feels when she needs to. I also feel like Avery's funny side can be brought out with Rafe, perhaps when he needs cheering up after a stressful day at work?

Avery: Despite Anastasias outgoing and demanding personality, I think she will enjoy the possibility of being Avery's protector (her sharp tongue will guarantee that). Avery being into photography could really come in handy with Anastasias modelling career, she could help her out with her portfolio or a comp card? Either way, her creative career is something she will be able to vibe with.

Sounds good to me! I was actually thinking that, although she's very friendly with Anastasia, Avery could perhaps feel a little jealous towards the girl. Nothing, malicious, more just wishful thinking that she could be more like her with her stunning looks and ease of confidence. Also, in return for her photographing Anastasia whenever she wanted, perhaps Anastasia could help Avery find a job, seeing as her line of work has plenty of openings for photographers.

Avery: Because of Spencer's job, even with his loud personality, he knows how to flesh people out and so he would realize Avery is more quiet and he wouldn't be as loud around her; he wouldn't want to scare her away. But, he'd still be talkative, and more than likely shove Pepper at her every chance he got. Maybe these two met because Avery had a panic attack out in public and she was rushed to the hospital, it was so bad? And Spence was her nurse and now he's a bit protective of her and goes out of his way to talk her ear off (by the way, she will be the second character, if you agree, to have met Spence through the hospital. We have an accident-prone group of people here, I'm glad Spencer can take care of y'all lol!).

Love the idea. I can actually see Avery forming a teeny-weeny crush on Spencer, I think it's the fact that he's so different from her that adds to her attraction to him, especially with the whole 'nursing back to health' thing going on xD But, of course, she's kept it as a complete secret, would probably die before anyone found out, and is perfectly happy with being friends for now. Like everyone else, she adores Pepper, finding any excuse to play with the little baby ^^ perhaps Spencer could be one of the first of the group for her to meet, and things sort of just progressed from there and she started to get to know everyone.

Avery - I struggle with this one. I love the character. I think it's one of those relationships where on the surface they seem like complete opposites, but as they get to know each other they realize that the other isn't that bad.... Maybe they just know each other through everyone else? Totally open to you!

I completely agree. Perhaps, at first, they're pretty wary of each other, being so different, but then as time passes they come to realise they get along just grandly. I was actually planning on Avwry being a secretly-huge fan of Star Wars, so maybe they could bond over that once discovered?

Avery- My liddle baby :( I can see Johanna sticking up for your character and like being like "SHUTUP, YOURE AMAZING. YOU GOT THIS" Their personalities are so vastly different but that doesn't mean they can't be friends. I can see them balancing each other out to be honest. Johanna would spoil her a lot in affection and encouragement. I can see her having some of Avery's photographs on the walls of her room.

Yasssss...I feel like Avery would adore Johanna. Normally, she's the type of girl she would avoid, but your character is just so lovable it would be hard to stay away. I like the idea of them balancing each other out, especially seeing as most of the other girls are outgoing rather than withdrawn like Avery is, so perhaps they can find some common ground. Like when Johanna is making a huge drama out of something small (pretty much me tbh), Avery could be the one that could calm her down, and in return Johanna could help Avery look on the positive side of things, I see her bubbly-ness rubbing off on her.

Personality: A quiet soul, Avery tends to keep to herself and stays out of the limelight as much as she can. She is capable of many things, but her self-confidence is somewhat lacking. Behind her shyness, a sweet and surprisingly funny girl shines through and she is found to be particularly loyal, finding goodness in almost anyone or anything.

Many people find her to be weak and even pathetic at times; but she is much stronger that one would think. Her willingness to share great burdens with those she cares about is awe-inspiring and her love for her family and friends is as fierce as any lion. Like most people, she does have a breaking point to her niceties and suffers from severe anxiety at the worst of times. She is prone to panic attacks and experiences random outbursts of anger when stressed.

History: Her father left a few moths after Avery was born, leaving her mother to look after Avery and her two older twin brothers in Glasgow, Scotland. The small family struggled, but got by with the little they had. Tragedy struck when Avery reached the age of seven. At this time she was bright, cheery and not afraid of being the center of attention. Marc and Jason, her two older brothers, were on their way home from school when Marc collapsed on the street. Not able to wake his twin, Jason called for help and Marc was rushed to hospital. Marc's diagnosis was inconclusive, but he later died in hospital and the remaining three of the family fell into a dark pit of depression and moved to America in an attempt to start a new life. Jason left their new home to go to college when Avery was twelve; so she stopped going to school to provide for herself and her mother, who had been seemingly frozen in a state of shock ever since Marc had died.

Avery tried as hard as she could, pick-pocketing people in the streets and stealing from local grocery stores, but her mother passed away four years later. Now at the age of sixteen with no decent education and hardly any money, in a final plea for help, Avery prayed to the Gods, any God, that she would be helped in this time of need. The answer to her prayers came in a will from her grandfather, a man she barely recollected. Being handed such a large amount of money, Avery began to build her life back up again and now, at the age of twenty five, she has managed to finally get an education and major in journalistic photography, now currently looking for a job that'll keep her in a comfortable financial state.

Other: Suffers from anxiety, and from time to time will fall victim to a panic attack.
Since she moved to America at such an early age, her voice only has a slight accent that shows her Scottish roots.
