Current Man, I can't wait to roleplay as Teak Root Furniture. Sounds wild.

As Eddie Izzard once said, "Americans say 'Urbs' English people say 'Herbs', because there's a f*cking 'H' in it"

Gotta love people who comment on your RP just to leave a snarky comment about it. GG, good to see you're using your time well.

Nothing like putting a load of effort and time into a game background when people are interested after the int check, for everything to go completely dead when you post the OOC with all the info.

Lengthy OOC finally up for my mecha-based game, now to collapse and try and sleep before I go on Holiday

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom.
I have a lot of fandoms, but I don't really like fandom RP's - or at least, the ones that come up. I often find them a bit lacking in ideas, or too far away from what actually makes the thing I'm a fan of enjoyable.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating.

I'm 42 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones. I dig giant robots, and I love military aircraft. I'm also a very dedicated and proud Brony and furry.

So this is the 40' tall standing target kind of mecha. Hmm.

Uhh... no? Did you read the lore?
Also, if you don't like it/want to embrace the setting and it's conventions, then don't join in with snarky, smart-ass comments, thanks. What exactly were you expecting? I've made it clear at every point that mecha anime like Gundam and Macross would be the major inspiration for the mecha aspect.

Approved, pending a mecha sheet for them.
I've created one for Kyria, which is on her post in the Characters tab if you need a reference.

Probably the longest running and definitely most stable game I've ever been in is three players and four characters. Also a modern military one, so personally I'd be fine with just the three of us and growing if more people come later.

Quality over quantity sort of thing.

You make a good point, and I've had similar experiences myself.
Bearing that in mind then, perhaps what I'll do instead is to get an IC post up shortly and we'll proceed with just the characters currently posted, and that way if anyone else wants to join in at a later date they can do so. And any other characters we want/need to make we can make ourselves. Nothing to stop any of us from playing multiple characters if we want to.

I'll try and get an IC post up in the next couple of days, work and other responsibilities permitting.
I am still interested, I was hoping to see an IC post or something like that.

I need a few more characters before I can start, honestly. Three of us is okay, but I was hoping for four or five. Especially because we had a fairly good turnout for the int check and at the start of the OOC
Snow

Garrett grimaced and swore colourfully in a handful of languages as the Arthropod lumbered its' way onto the scope. Of course, most of those languages he only knew for those swear words, but the effect was what he wanted.
Valika's message came over the comm channels, and Garrett gave a curt nod of approval as he replied.
"Roger, Redknight. I'll give you some covering fire; you concentrate on those cannons before they can make a mess of us, over!"
Slaloming and weaving to give a harder target, the Sentinel dodged and surged between the plumes of dirty smoke thrown up by near-misses. Even under the enclosing womb of armour around the machines' cockpit, he could hear debris patter and ring off of the armoured hull of the AUG. Deft and quick movements of his fingers and hands bought the AUGs' smart beam gun into play, the long-barrelled weapon unfolding into position to be grippd in the metal-shod hands. Immediately, the barrel started to weave and bob as it tracked in on targets and with a distinctive sound, bright charged particle beams whipped off, targeted at MA's even as they fired at the AUG. Snow's shots were decisive and true; guided both by the smartgun's tracking and his own sharp, albeit single-eyed, gaze, and the MA's he targeted exploded or slumped into piles of scrap.
20 days later, and I think this is, sadly, a bit dead D:
So further to my previous post... is there still any interest?
I've been waiting to see any other character sheets go up and any other form of engagement or activity, but there's been nothing since my last post.

I'll wait a couple more days, but if there's nothing else, then I'm going to drop this, since the hype and interest people had seems to have just... evaporated since the interest check and the OOC went up.

So, are there any more characters forthcoming and any other interest and activity?

Everyone seemed pretty keen over on the interest check, but now the OOC is up... it all seems a bit dead.

I'll wait another few days, but if there's nothing else happening and no further activity, then I'm probably going to call the game dead, because it's been almost a week and there's been no real activity, and I'd be expecting at least some kind of engagement and activity at this point.

Admittedly, I have been on holiday, but at the same time; there's only so much I can do to stir up hype. I've posted the OOC, I've posted a wealth of information on the setting and background, and I've posted my own character as an example so...

I'm like halfway through (it's been a hell of a week) and I got stuck trying to find a reference image for my felness - is it OK to just give a written description?

Sure, that's fine. I haven't managed to find a good one for my Avriala either, so I used a written one
