Personality: He’s the strong silent type, doesn’t talk much. Often found to be overly serious, people find it surprising that he actually has a healthy sense of humor – if a bit dry.
Desired Job & Qualifications: Head of Security. Dan is a US Army Police Officer (MP) that volunteered for the head of security job. He has been active duty for 13 years and has deployed all over the world, usually as a volunteer for the most dangerous places.
Brief Bio:
Dan is estranged from his family, he enlisted in the Army at 17, six months after his older brother passed away in a car wreck that was Dan’s fault. He was engaged and set to be married when his fiancée called the wedding off, she had been pregnant with their child and miscarried and it tore them apart. He throws himself into his work, there isn’t a better man to protect you.
Reason for Wanting to Leave Earth: Dan wanted a new life, needed a new life. He volunteered for a fresh start.
Anything Else You Want to Add: Dan is hard to get to know but worth knowing and a friend for life once you have him.

This is a chance for a new life, a new beginning! This is your chance to make a difference, to change and make history! A life among the stars!

Synopsis

NASA is now accepting applications for their colonization effort. NASA scientists have found at least 3 planets they believe can sustain human life. The catch? Anyone who goes will be spending the vast majority of the nearly 800 year voyage in hyper sleep. All of the friends and family…the life they leave behind…will be gone when they awake. This RP can take place either right after the announcements are made as to who was accepted for the colonization effort or after they arrive in the new galaxy. Thousands of people are being accepted, you have been accepted as part of Team Omega, the first team to arrive to the new galaxy. Your team is responsible for visiting the 3 planets NASA has identified and choosing the one most suitable for a colonization effort. Once Team Omega has set up the home colony and been up and running for a period no fewer than 5 years the next team will be awoken from hyper sleep and the next phase will begin.

Before his death John was a very affable man. Generous to a fault and always trying to help people, he would literally give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger for no other reason than they needed it. After his death though, he has little patience and has a quick temper. His old self and his “reborn” self as he likes to think of it are at constant war of which side of his personality will win out.

|Why your character was in Renata|

John was a beloved history teacher at Renata’s high school. He was very involved in the community and with his family, having only ever left Renata to go to college.

|The Circumstances of the Death|

John was chaperoning a school dance being held in an old building in part of Renata’s historic district. The building wasn’t up to code and the decorations, all flashy and needing a lot of outlets, caused the wiring in the building to catch fire. He got as many students out as he could as the building quickly went up in flames. Searching for any stragglers he found a student hiding that hated him and the feeling was mutual. John urged him to get out and when the boy refused a beam from the ceiling fell. Without hesitation John shoved the boy out of the way, the beam falling across his back, pinning him to the ground. He pleaded with the boy to get help and even though he ran outside to the waiting firemen he didn’t let anyone know where John was or that he was even still inside. Dying from smoke inhalation death found John and gave him a second chance. John emerged from the building, everyone amazed that he had managed to get himself untrapped from the beam, something they chalked up to adrenaline.

John can manipulate fire, the angrier he is the more intense the flames are but the less control he has.

John is the oldest of five siblings, he has four younger sisters, some of whom still attend the high school he teaches at. He’s always enjoyed History and was very excited to accept a job teaching at his alma mater. He grew up in Renata and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Aside from history John also loves music but doesn’t like to share his talent with others, being his own worst critic.

Apollo doesn’t much care for anything beyond his carnal pleasures and his music. He’s quick to get into a fight and usually comes out on top, having a natural sense for which fights are in his favor.

While the sun is under his domain he does not share John’s affinity with flames. He admires John’s natural talent with music but is secretly afraid that if the two were compared that John would come out on top.
