— Natala —

Natala dodged to the side, moving away from where Liza was. Perhaps they would be able to surround it, as well as they could with only a couple of people anyway. She hit the ground and rolled, coming up with her sword in the same guard position. There was no knowing how the other girl would act but if things started to go badly she could always run.

And she glanced over her shoulder to notice that Odile was doing just that.
That combined with the fact that she knows who Risa is now means that Shizuri is quite panicked right now.

Blitz held his guest at a distance, letting him dangle and flail for a moment until reality set in. It took slightly longer than expected. After letting the fellow hang in the wind for a moment he spoke.

"Done? Okay. Start talking or I drop you. None of this playing stupid nonsense."

His radio was off for the entirety of this.

This was bad. Things were getting worse and worse by the minute. It was a wild impulse and now she was trapped. Shizuri didn't even know any local places to eat other than take out pizza shops. She might have been able to handle things if she had listened to Fid more and wouldn't be here if she hadn't listened to the fairy at all. She was forced to admit as much.

"I don't really know anywhere to eat around here. I did say I didn't get out much."

She looked a little bit emberassed.

— Natala & Liza —

The feeling emanating from the Other went from displeasure to alarm in an instant. Natala raised her blade and turned to face the newly arrived danger. A rift beast, the first one that she had seen. The girl had no idea if the Other knew of them or had fought one before, not that it would be able to offer any sort of advice.

”...?” It was sudden. Too sudden. A moment of accomplished replaced by the horror of dread. At first, it was a loud sound - just to be replaced by eternal silence. What… just happened? Soon, Liza’s feeling of confusion was replaced with that of dread. A rift beast wasn’t anything new to her but that thing was clearly out of her league. At least under normal circumstances.

Pulling down her mask again and speaking words that Natala wasn’t capable of understanding, the blonde understood what happened to her ears. Surely, the monster wouldn’t give her enough time to make herself clear that the two of them should escape. If Odile were to die here, all the better. Alas, while not making any signs to fight, the young Artist waited nonetheless on what her beautiful Angel would do.

She shook her head, ears ringing after the noise that heralded the beast's arrival into their world. No matter, all she needed to fight was to see her enemy. Hopefully the damage would only be temporary though. Natala raised the blade to a high guard and waited on the first move. The slave had never fought anything so large before. If Odile recovered soon then the extra ally would do much to even things out.

It looked like...Natala wanted to fight? Just why? Annoyed, Liza drew both of her Runetech Guns. It was kinda inconvenient that Natala seemed to be a front-liner considering the Artist wanted the girl to stay well.

Odiles escape went unnoticed by either of them.

To call him a mere General was a grave insult and Tamas would have called the individual out in any other circumstance. The Field Marshal had commanded the massed armies of an entire nation. But this was not the time or place. The 'answer' he had gotten was unhelpful. Nobody else seemed to be getting much better. It was like talking to a politician.

Seeing that he had failed to sense any powder on any of these individuals, he instead opened his third eye to search for signs of sorcery. What he found was that the room was awash in it. Nearly everyone glowed in his sight. He closed it and looked around again.

Some individuals seemed to be getting rather upset about things. A younger Tamas might have been one to join them. For now he fished a powder charge out of his uniform pocket and held it in his closed fist.

"I'm inclined to agree."

It only took him a second to loop back and grab one of the fleeing attackers. A burst of acceleration and a sharp turning climb was enough to force the man to pass out while Blitz's suit kept him conscious.

He would have been confident in his ability to take one a single one of these murder robots, even one of the larger ones but four was too many. They weren't here to fight anyway and the information he could get from this one individual could make or break this whole case.

Once he was clear of the megafoundation that loomed over the Wirefort estate Blitz climbed sharply, zig zagging sharply to both throw off the aim of anything that might still be tracking him and to continue to keep his captive unconscious. He continued rising until the vehicles below were mere specs and not even the traffic below could be heard.

And then he waited for his unfortunate guest to wake up, holding him upside down by the foot.

Tavern

The ex-soldier ignored Maria for the moment. Along with the piestess, who seemed to not be much of a drinker. She listened to the merchants words. It sounded reasonable but there was always a way to sweeten the deal. Sophia held up a hand with two fingers extended.

"Add two silvers for every dead bandit. Consider it an investment in the future. When does your next shipment go out?"

Then she took the drink that the bartender placed in front of celeste and drained it in one long pull. They had work to do and she was in no mood to carry anyone anywhere.

"And that's enough for you."

His first thoughts were of his family. Not just Taniel but of Vlora and Olem. Those under his command that relied on him, and he on them. But really there was nothing that could be done at the moment. Wherever he was, he was far away and it was likely that most in the room were in the same situation. He couldn't recall even the last thing he did. There was a war, the Kez were invading and something had happened to his son.

Things were chaotic, with multiple people talking. So he sat quietly, rifle across his lap. At least he had his rifle and some powder charges. Tamas reached out with his senses but couldn't find any other powder in the room. Nobody in the room looked to have anything in common, nothing that he could see. As a last option he resorted to following the lead of the others in the room.

"Field Marshal Tams of the Adran Army. You've already explained who you are and where we are. But why are we here?"
