Current It's definitely weird coming back here after realizing I've cut ties or lost touch with basically all the people I've known from here, which were all some of my closest friends on the internet.

Summer clearly wasn't taking it personally. If anything, it seems more like you are, friend.

i suppose could i receive the link then?
well, I also didn't realize the last message was a month ago when i sent that. I don't imagine this is alive at all anyway.
I love a good Yugioh rp, colour me interested :D

Awesome! Any ideas you would want to include in particular?
Hey, It's been a long time since I've been in the roleplaying game, but I had an itch to do something like this. I ran a few Yugioh roleplays back in the day, but there were always issues with them, chief among them the issue of translating duels into a narrative, and the difficulty of trying to actually get duels done.

For this RP, I'm not entirely sure what to do setting wise, this will likely be a collaborative effort, but I don't really like the idea of just placing this RP into the setting of one of the anime. We could set it after all the existing anime in continuity, or we could set it apart as its own thing. Really this is just up to what to people would prefer.

Dueling will likely be done through Duelingbook, primarily due to the access to custom cards, which will be allowed with several caveats. I think doing best of one matches with in-match roleplaying is probably the best plan, or the RPing could be added after the fact, with the duel essentially being written out and retold.

In general, I've got very little in mind beyond trying to do something more sandboxy, and wanting this to be a mostly collaborative effort. Hopefully we can get something going that everyone can enjoy.

If enough people are interested, I'll set up a discord, and set up a more in-depth list of rules and things.
If you have any questions about specifics, feel free to ask away and I'll answer as soon as I can.
Do you plan on making an actual Forum RP out of this, or is this all going to be on discord? And if it is on discord, why not just post the link to the server?

Decided just to post what I've got so far. I've got a good bit to add/edit I think, and i still need to pretty it up. I also think the personality might come off a lot more terrible than I intended, so I might have to rework that. Anyway, I'll gladly accept any criticism on what I do have so far, I'm more than willing to make changes.
OOC is in the works. I'll have it posted tomorrow.
Introduction

The year is 42069.

It has been exactly 420 years since several parallel, yet separate worlds, finally made contact with one other. It has been officially four hundred and nineteen years since these worlds viewed and respected each other's women and soon, it'll be time for the 419th anniversary of peace between these 420 extremely different worlds. After the very fabric of time and space split, these realms, forever separated, became one through a massive breach in the sky.

This wormhole, dubbed in the peasant tongues as the "ORAfice" is home to miles of unexplored wilderness and the infamous "procedurally generated dungeons" which are known for appearing randomly, spawning a random number of monsters, and randomly changing in design when entered. In order to combat the threat of nature, dice-rolled dungeons, and potential war between the unreasonable number of worlds, a number of academies have begun to pop up all over the areas of the ORAfice currently inhabited by humanoids.

These academies vary by location, but all have the same general goal: profit. Each school takes in any races from the worlds that they can get and forces them to co-exist under the guise of "learning from each other" and "growing as people," as they work towards graduation. Upon graduation, students are officially recognized as "Gatekeepers," an honor by any form of government and recognized by all of the worlds as enforcers of law, peace, and protection.

You are one of these students. Perhaps you are ordinary or extremely gifted, good with technology, magic, alchemy or people. For some reason, you've been invited to attend Kodomo-O-Eru Acadamy for the Tsukamu Artes. It is unknown as to why or how students are selected to attend the academy, but the school itself is outstanding, with a high graduation rate and some of the most famous Gatekeepers known to the 420 realms.

That being said, you're going to accept the offer right?

it would kind of invalidate the point of the RP if you said no.

do it.

The Worlds
More Worlds will be added as players come up with them.

The Letter
You were actually sent two letters. One was the original, an incomprehensible, unreadable mess, while the second seems to be actually competent.

Character Sheet
The goal of this RP is to create a custom Magic: The Gathering set, of roughly 250-300 cards, and play out the story for that set as an RP at the same time. Players may be creating multiple characters, and controlling characters made by others depending on the circumstances, though players will be able to have central characters only they control. The general idea is that we'll plan out the events we want to happen, and the characters we want to include, then we'll start roleplaying out those events, with them being represented on cards either before or after we've done the roleplaying depending on if we want the story to fit the cards, or vice versa. All players must participate in both the roleplaying and set-creation aspects of this RP.

Because we are trying to create a functional, and at least semi-balanced set, I want to get some background on the players who are joining. Instead of applying with a character sheet, you'll need to fill out the following designer sheet:

If you wish to join, simply fill out the designer sheet and post it. There will be no player limit. Feel free to throw any questions or concerns you might have at me, I'll try to answer them as quickly as possible.

Here's my designer sheet as an example:
Changed the opening spiel slightly, and added my own designer sheet.
