Sorry guys. I've been busy once again with school projects. I'm in contact with delta and he's been on and off, but I think he's probably waiting for me to post. Once again, sorry, and I'll try and stich together my post.
Jorrick might be an okay leader. He's young, relatively smart, fit, and isn't afraid to get dirty, so to speak. However, he is reckless, so his brash actions might make him unfit to lead. Amos would be my vote for best leader, though.
Sorry if I've been inactive in yall's RP for a little while, was a little depressed this weekend and had some personal problems. Next week I'll also be quite busy as I'm traveling out of the contiguous US. So, as I understand it, the RP talk amongst characters goes on in PMs?
Roughly a week late, but I hope it's not to troublesome for me to join this RP.
Character Name: Jorrick Anderson/Male/26 Appearance: Lithe and agile, Jorrick could be called a "Fox" of the Ruins. His face, tanned by sun and sky, is framed by his short, wavy brown hair and his defined jawline. His pale blue eyes shine with a sort of eager intelligence. He stands slightly above average height, and is well built with lean muscle. His arms and legs hold some small scars from life, but on his body he has a large curved scar reaching from his armpit to his hip, along with an old knife wound under his left breast. Personality Optimistic, friendly, and quite often reckless, Jorrick finds himself comfortable with others and is quick to make friends. His intelligent often is shown through in face of adversity, but most may not suspect the observant mind behind his eyes. As well, being accustomed being more skilled at his craft than most, he often feels he is entitled to a larger share of the proceeds. More personally, he often prefers the peaceful solace of the Ruins compared to the life amongst the cities and farmland. Background Jorrick Anderson was born into some of the plethora of peasant families in the middle of the Hundred Realms. Coming from a family of 4 children, much of his early life was spent playing with his siblings in the fields and exploring the occasional rusted out relic, along with accompanying his parents with small tasks around his house. However, when he was 8 years old the neighboring warlord attacked, and his family was forced off their land into the refuge of their feudal lord's coast-side castle. At stiff resistance of the lord's troops, the attack fell into a long siege. Infection and malnutrition claimed the rest of his siblings and his mother, and as times worsened people became more desperate and tried to sneak their way out of the siege. Jorrick was largely pressured into his role though it bought him better odds of surviving. Him, his father, and a few friends and family managed to sneak along the shore out of the keep. The group of survivors eventually settled down in the nearby kingdom of Mason Bridge. Growing up in his adolescence, his father greatly devoted himself in ensuring his only son would live a better life, and his devotion greatly imprinted itself on Jorrick's future life and his personality. He paid for him to attend a basic education, however, Jorrick's hunger for knowledge ended up leading to the sect of Artificers in the town. There he quickly climbed the ropes, and being quick to learn and with his hands, Jorrick began to become a proficient Artificer. His rising position amongst the Artificers led him to end up amongst the curators of the king's relics. Jorrick became on quite good terms with then lord himself, though he quickly became on much better terms with the King's daughter. One night, after brashly sneaking into the daughter's room for an activity best left unsaid, guards discovered his presence and the king himself entered the room. Jorrick attempted to defend his intentions before his lord, but only succeeded in pushing the king over the edge. He was challenged to a duel, and pitted with his knife against the king's sword he quickly realized the fight would be disastrous for him. After only a few blows the king reached out to finish him, but Jorrick managed to dodge the blow enough that he was only left with his long scar on his side. He quickly left the castle, and knowing he would be forced out of the town he attempted to bring his father with him. His father, struck by his reckless irresponsibility and too aged to travel far, stayed, and so at eighteen Jorrick left his home once more. He traveled south, coming under the service of a feudal king as the position of a scavenger. Aided by his agility and stealthiness, Jorrick spent weeks in the solace of the Ruins of once great cities, recovering ancient medicines and great instruments of war. His skills were honed as he spent longer and longer amongst the cities, and as he became more skilled in recovering the great Relics, more and more unwanted attention was focused upon his lord. Returning from once such excursion, he found the town and keep burned to the ground, razed by fire-spewing Relics from a nearby warlord. This drove him to seek the protection of a greater king, and he began again his voyage further south to the city along the Potomac. However, a vicious winter forced him to weather the elements in the crumbling relics of Baltimore, where isolation forced him to become as resourceful in survival as possible. Through the winter he wandered amongst the towering buildings until a warm spring rain made travel possible once more. There he became an artificer amongst the lord of Washington, guarding and gathering the surviving objects of the fallen Predecessors . Motivation Jorrick is accustomed to life amongst the Ruins and the Relics of the past. With not much to leave behind amongst the tatters of civilization, he answered the call of the West, seeking fame and glory, along with maybe some personal company. More personally, Jorrick feel's his destiny lies amongst the fallen cities, the traces of a civilization long gone. Equipment: Accustomed to quick and quiet travel, Jorrick's equipment revolves around his agility and stealthiness. He has soft leather boots, adept for stealth, and neutral colored tunic and breeches to blend in with his surroundings. On his back he carries a faded green cloak and a small, light pack for miscellaneous supplies; whetstone, firestarters, food and water, and of course money, along with a few trinkets from his voyages . He carries his knife on his belt, and a spare in his boot, but otherwise keeps his body free of weapons.
