Well, surely there was another boat in the two year span between the demons and the arrival of the heroes. Ashirah's background is based on her arriving to the Mainland, setting up a free apothecary in the port town, and treating people. :/

I wanna ask something before I post: I had planned for Ashirah to have been living in the port for a while before the heroes landed. I'm not sure how long ago the demons took over, but it seemed to be a year at least, and Ashirah would have set up shop about six months after. Is that okay?
