Current I always thought I might be bad, now I'm sure that it's true. 'cause I think you're so good, and I'm nothing like you.

Repeat to yourself that they’re not really gone. Time has proven that fooling yourself into believing a lie is the most effective way to deal with things you have no control over.

You won, and she chose you, and she loved you, and she's gone. It's over, isn't it?

sorry for being late, i totally forgot again. but hey, i drew a diagram to go with what marlis was saying too :,)

the pic turned out a little large than what i was expecting. oh well.
Several days Marlis went without saying more than a word, the most that came out of her mouth was a few grunts. She kept her crossbow cradled in her arms the whole time, not giving anyone even a glance in their direction. Perhaps it was the cynicism that came with old age, but her hope in the group and the Order was growing slim.

As everyone walked, Siegfried had stopped them, pointing at a group of orcs that was gathered together, carrying some boars with them. He asked for a plan, Jack provided with what Marlis considered an overly simple scheme with Denzel playing as bait. Scoffing, she peered through the clearing, then looked back at the group. "I don't think it's wise to try and lure them all over to the young man. We pick them off one by one."

She crouched down on the ground, pulling an arrow out from her quiver and using its end to draw in the dirt. Starting with a star and a crudely drawn arrow pointing at it, she continued, "we're here. And the orcs are over," she drew an X just a few steps away from the star. "Here. Now, we split into 3 groups of 2, and we set up a few traps and and force the orcs to split into a smaller group to check out a certain distraction at these three points." Marlis continued to sketch a few circles in different areas.

"For the diversion I'm not completely sure on, I was thinking we'd use a smoke signal but that would possibly draw out more orcs than intended. Otherwise, three of us would have to show ourselves, and hopefully they'll be dumb enough to split up and follow wherever we run to."

Getting up, she placed the arrow back in her quiver while simultaneously smacking off any dirt that had caught onto her coat. "I hope that's something we can agree on."

oops i almost forgot about this. i've been a little busy, and currently im about to pass out.

expect a post from me soon! most likely it'll be up in like... less than 24 hours lmfao.
yay! :)
Relieved, she pulled back away from him, pulling out her phone to type in little notes about what he had told her to look for. She tried to maintain focus on his mask as well, but just after she finished tapping, his mask flashed "nice doing business with u! ^ ^!!" and he was gone. Sighing, Gaela shoved the phone back into her bag, running her hands through her hair.

It was like diving headfirst into a cold, running river, and she couldn't swim. A bad feeling was starting to brew in her stomach, but she ignored it and assumed it was the nausea building up from the unborn child stirring in her womb. Groaning, she placed her head on the table, but suddenly remembering that she was in a public establishment she pulled herself up quickly.

She had ordered some water a while ago, and she was so close to ordering herself a glass of rum and coke. But she knew she couldn't break her 2 year streak just yet. Gaela was starting to feel a little anxious being in here by herself, so after a few minutes of sipping at her water, she picked up her things and stood outside. The breeze was starting to pick up, and it was getting late. At this time of night, and with all the murders going on, she definitely wasn't interested in walking home in the dark for almost an hour.

There weren't any taxis nearby, and the nearest Lyft was 20 minutes away, and just when she was going to pull out her wallet to check if she had any money for the ride, she realized she had used the last of it for her drinks in the bar. Cursing, she ran her fingers through her hair, then moved her hands to hold her jacket closer to her body. Well, if she hurried home, she would hopefully not get into too much trouble.

(bluhbl uh bulhuhluhlihb im s orryu im lazy and tired this is trash :\.)
@Arthanus wait marlis didn't say anything :0 it was just laine and jack who were talking
mmm sorry for the short replies, i'll try and write more next time. i just have no inspiration atm :,)
With her arms behind her back, she first stared down at the map laid on the table, then her gaze moved to watch Liang's hands as she moved the blocks around to emphasize her strategy. Marlis caught her habit fast and looked back up Kaldor as Liang explained the squad's leader situation. She had been confident that she would get her moment to lead a group for once, but when she heard that Siegfried would be a 'representative,' Marlis bit down on the inside of her cheek.

She wouldn't dare complain. Sure, he was a few years younger and maybe she didn't play well with others all that much, but she assumed that the years of experience would have at least played a factor in choosing such a role. Even though he wasn't exactly the leader and was supposed to be watching out for someone who was capable, Marlis didn't have the pleasure of having to 'impress' anyone. After side-eying her companion, her attention focused back on Kaldor who inquired if the group had any questions that needed to be answered.

Noticing that one of the men in the group was talking, she moved to watch him speak. It seemed that he was covering up something he said with a few questions on the Shaman, but for why Marlis wasn't exactly sure on. Near the end of the briefing she hadn't been concentrating all that much anyways.
yeah i wanted to wait until someone else posted. i can post soon if you'd like ^^
The flash of the man's mask confused her for a moment, realization dawning as words appeared on his mask. "Ah, sorry. I assume that a lot of people speak German, but it's almost starting to become like America." A light blush erupted over her face as she stared at the mask, mesmerized by the technology. She read the rest of whatever he had put in, the amount of question marks bothering her, but she chose not to complain.

"Uh, right. It's sort of a long story, but I'll save the details for another time, if of course you choose to stay and help," she paused and let out a sigh, "the police are pigs who won't do anything. It's been years and they haven't caught this psychopath, and I just want justice served. A close friend of mine was a victim, and um, for your last question.. I may not have anything yet. I honestly don't really know where to start."

Gaela glanced around the bar, wondering why the urgency. "Is there a problem?" She asked, leaning closer to the table.
