Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

When the academy officials asked for their magical items, Fenna looked at her spear. She shrugged and handed it over. "The size matches what I need it for," she told them. It'd be great if they could figure out more about the weapon, she used it instinctively and had no idea how it worked herself. If they would refuse to give it back, well, she'd find a way to get it back, or use another weapon. It was a useful tool and she could do without it for a while.

They could finally go to the guild hall. Fenna waited patiently for the contract to be processed and she accepted her part of the reward. Then the moment came she had waited for: the comm message that would explain it all. The comm message they had risked a gold contract for and had battled hard for. When the screen showed the text, her eyes moved over it, taking in every word.

The world felt like it had stopped. She stared at the screen, her thoughts racing through her mind. Disbelief. Doubt. The painful longing to go back home. She pressed her lips together and breathed in through her nose to keep herself from crying. True words had been written; they had been kidnapped and dragged into this fight... what were they even fighting for? But Zigmund had attacked them as well and wasn't he affiliated with the Witch Queen.

A pat and rub on her shoulder broke her thoughts and she glanced to Zell before turning her attention back to the message to read it again. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I need a moment." She turned and left the room, then left the guildhouse. Alone she did what she hadn't want to do in front of the others and cried. Sil, sensing her grief, joined her immediately and held on to her shoulder and upper arm with her talons so she could put her head against Fenna's head in an attempt to comfort her.

After a few moments she took in a shaky breath and wiped the tears away. This wasn't going to solve anything. That's when she heard Zell's voice. Had he followed her? She turned to look at him. "I do fancy a beer," she said in a soft voice and joined him at the bar, sitting next to him. She held the pint with two hands.

When Zell spoke, she looked at him and tried to smile, but she wasn't sure how successful she was. "Thanks." She put a hand on Zell's arm. "Thank you." It seemed like Zell didn't doubt they'd find a way home. A way had presented itself, but who could they trust? She smiled at Zell's final comment. "What a day indeed," she sighed and drank from the beer.

Sil flew low and made agitated sounds, so Fenna held out her arm for the falcon to land. Even though the bombardments didn't reach the city, this was out of the comfort zone of the bird, but she trusted Fenna enough to stay with her. When Zell spoke. Fenna rose her eyebrows at his confession about not being allowed in the Guildhouse anymore. "I'll see about sorting that out when we have a chance. If I can get you back in, you owe me a beer." What in the world had he done to lose access to that place? She shook her head, the sad thing was that the words didn't even surprise her.

Many important people were gathered and it was strange to think she was invited to a meeting like this, somehow being important herself. Never in her life had she considered herself important enough to ever attend a meeting on this scale. And here she was.
Despite being indoors, Sil seemed more at ease with the fewer impressions of the siege within these walls. She let James and Adam to the talking, there was very little to add to their explanation.

"I don't see why not," Fenna said to MacKensie and told the people she had woken up and a weapon had been in her stone box and that she didn't know how she had obtained it, but that it wasn't in her possession back on Earth.

She smiled at Barracker when he stood tall and proclaimed his trust in them. An ally, a friend, it was good to have Barracker with them.

Fenna looked at the Alarm Receivers that were put on the table. One for each. She mulled over the words spoken. Garrison captains? She was fairly sure she was considered an offensive class, so it was likely that part applies to her as well. She didn't want to think too much about it, but at the same time she felt a confidence she would never have dreamed of before. If that was the task for her, she'd do it. She reached out to take one of the Alarm Receivers, examined and put it in her pouch.

"If we are no longer needed here," Fenna said softly as it seemed that all was said that needed to be said, and her eyes moved to Lucy, "can we finish our business in the Guildhouse?"
“A pity I will have to fight human scum.”

Trevor watched his opponent pick up a long sword and he thought about changing weapons - he was equally skilled with a sword as he was with the spear - but he decided to keep the weapon he had in his hand. He narrowed his eyes at how she addressed him. “The good thing about this fight is that there will be one less elf,” he stated, his voice as cold as the look in his eyes. He meant those words and he vowed to wipe the smirk off her face, as he had done with other elves before.

The two warriors circled around each other. While he hadn’t personally fought against the Queens Guard, he had heard stories about them. This was not an opponent to underestimate. Judging by her smirk, she was doing that enough for the both of them. It wasn’t the first time he stood opposite of an armed elf, the question was how often someone from the Queens Guard had faced off against a human. That could be an advantage. Trevor held the spear in two hands, tip aimed at the elf.

Cova was disciplined enough to not go in with her sword held high. Instead, she stepped in and quickly to the side a few times to test how quickly Trevor was. To overcome the lengths of the spear she needed to be quicker, which she deemed no problem as elves were stronger and more agile than humans could ever dream to be. She scowled, humans thought they were so good, but they were animals at best.

Trevor kept his eyes on Cova, she was nimble and he had to take that into account. Enough of this, he thought. Let’s get this over with.
There was one advantage he had with the spear and it was time to use it. He made a series of thrusting attacks and Cova either used her sword to deflect them or stepped out of the way. If he could keep her at spear length, all he needed was to find an opening to stab her.

Cova jumped up and raised her sword, bringing it down in a swift motion, but Trevor turned his body and the sword barely missed him. Cova’s frustration was visible on her face, but she recovered quickly and moved her sword towards Trevor. At the same time, Trevor brought the wooden handle up and hit her in the head.

The blow dazed Cova long enough for Trevor to step back and use the length of the spear to his advantage again. He entered a series of quick stabs, moving forward as he did and Cova was forced to step back. One stab almost hit and Cova hit the spear to the side, then quickly placed her feet on the ground for another jumping attack, but after seeing one Trevor recognised the movement and when Cova was in the air Trevor angled his spear to stab Cova. The tip deflected on the armour, but it also hindered her jump and she couldn’t finish her sword blow from above.

Determined to win, Cova ran forward, using her longsword to hit away his spear and with a fluid movement brought the sword above her head and moved it down. “Die, human scum,” she hissed.

As the spear was pushed to the side Trevor bent his knees and threw his body forward, using his shoulder to push Cova off balance and he put a foot behind Cova’s to trip her. As she fell on her back, Trevor readied the spear, looked at her face for a brief moment and thrust the tip down, piercing her neck. The idea to spare her had only briefly crossed his mind, but he had dismissed it as quickly as it had come up. He had seen the look in her eyes, she intended this to be a fight to the death and he had no problems killing a damned elf. He doubted she would have taken the defeat and to avoid her jumping up and continuing the fight, it was just easier to end it. And, as he had said before, it was one less elf who could bother him.

As Cova gurgled, Trevor turned to Dula, turning his back at his dying opponent. He glanced over his shoulder to see if she wouldn’t try some foolish desperate last move, but her strength quickly faded as her blood spread over the ground.

“Are we done?”
Fenna's shoulder was throbbing and she couldn't move her arm when she finally got inside the city walls. All that was left was a walk to the hospital. She had been focusing on getting everyone inside the city safely and had ignored her shoulder as well as she could. Now that everyone was safe, the pain in her shoulder became a lot harder to push aside.

While she did listen to what was said around her, and she smiled gratefully at those of Silver Arrow who were kind to her, she mostly walked to the hospital in silence. The only one she talked to was Adam.
"I'm glad I could help," she told him. "As for my arm... it's a good thing we're almost at the hospital. Thanks for the cover, it really helped us get here."

The staff was friendly and professional, it was obvious they had handled injuries like hers many times before. It was a lot more crowded in the hospital than last time, but with the war happening on Valheims doorstep, that was to be expected. Fenna didn't stay in bed longer than needed. There were many places she could rest, but there weren't many places where the injured could be treated. Once her wounds were professionally treated and the staff deemed it okay for her to get up and move, she left the room.

Fenna waited in the waiting room and it wasn't long before MacKenzie joined her, and soon after the others as well. Once everyone was together they could go to the guild and claim the contract, but when Zell asked about the water ninja, Fenna listened to their conversation.

There was a pause after James mentioned Zigmund had received a sword from a contract and Fenna thought the most important bits were told. "Shall we go..." she began, but before she could suggest heading out and meeting up with Lucy, James turned to Zell with a frightened look and asked him about hallucinations and the like. Had Zell done something dangerous? It wouldn't be surprising if he had, even if it was unknowingly. They knew very little about this place... wait, hadn't Zell picked up Zigmund's sword? The one he received from a contract with something sinister? She too turned to Zell to hear his answer.
Trevor watched the monks bring in the table with weaponry. "The name is Trevor," he said. "Trained in combat. I stopped taking orders from anyone, but I will do what is needed." He understood enough of what Dula had said that he was motivated to complete this task. Both death and staying here weren't options. He glared at the table with weapons. How he loathed to have been put in this position, but if Dula was correct and something old and evil was awaking, he couldn't turn his back on that. If going back to his peaceful life meant he'd have to bond with some beast, so be it.

With his eyes on the monks he picked up a spear and held it in his hand to test the balance, before making a thrusting motion in the air. So far the monks hadn't moved, although he assumed they were part of his test. "I don't feel like I have anything to prove to you or anyone else," he stated. "I know my worth. But if you insist, if there is another warrior present who has to prove his or her worth, let us battle it out and then I will present myself to the eggs. It will save you one test."
It soon became clear the door was closed and that Benjamin lacked the strength to open it. The room looked like a prison cell, with a bed, a toilet and a basin to wash his hands. No window. He was fairly sure these people that put him here belonged to the agency, their uniforms had given away that much, but to what department did they belong? For now, all he could do was wait.

Mike took the businesscard and examined it. He didn't know exactly where it was, but that would be easy to figure out. He used his phone to look up the address and map a course while Harriet explained what she knew. Of course, Harriet was an alien, she probably didn't know a lot about the way humans did things. That's when he noticed the time.

"I wonder what's keeping Ben," he said, looking up from the phone. "He should have been here by now."
With a sudden weight on his leg, Bear tripped, fell and rolled on his back. "Ah, you got me!" he exclaimed with his fists dramatically in the air. "I cannot win, I have been defeated!"

"We make educated guesses when it comes to the types of most legendary Pokémon," Andy admitted. "Only some have been proven through close encounters. Some are pretty easy to guess." He grinned. "Moltres is obviously a rock type, right?"
"Almost correct," Netherlu said with a chuckle, before turning to Gavin. "It's awful you were locked up like that. While Arceus created us, I'm willing to admit some of his views are not in line with my own. Every Pokémon should be free to go where they please, including accepting a Pokéball. No-one should be kept somewhere against their will."

"That's fine, I'll manage," Michael assured her and he started going around to collect everything that needed to be cleaned. Merlin and Anthony joined him.
"There is a stream in that direction," the Noctowl informed him, pointing with his wing.
"I'll join you," Anthony said, "I saw it too."

With the pot, bowls and spoons Michael left the others and Anthony showed him where he had to go.
When Ari left, Benjamin turned to Dia. "I guess, all we can do now is wait."
He sat down on the bed, leaning against the wall and he closed his eyes. Suddenly he opened them again. "Maybe we can do something. We need an exit strategy, an easy way out when we found Ray. We have to leave this damned place." He got up and went to the door, but paused there. "Dia, do you think you can find a key somewhere, dressed as you are?"

The nurse examined Ray. "How do you feel?" she asked again, keeping a close eye on her for any non-verbal clues as to how she was doing.
Trevor had watched the test intently. Even without being able to use magic or any of the sort, he was able to tell more had happened than the words spoken, but other than that the test has seemed mild. He narrowed his eyes at the disappearance of the participant. Was this part of it? It was hard to tell and Dula didn't show any obvious signs one way or the other.

Then he was called forward. Good, he didn't feel like waiting. There were many things he could say about Dula, but he appreciated she didn't waste any time. So he wouldn't waste hers. He stepped forward.

"I'm here, what do I need me to do?"
When James asked if everyone could swim, Fenna thought about it for a moment. "With one arm," she told him. "I'll manage."

It was quickly decided Clive would get help and the rest of them would get their necessary rest. When they found the place to camp, Fenna used the last of the sunlight to scout ahead. It was obvious this area was not the main focus of anyone, the siege happened on the other side and the city had their attention on the siege. While she knew there would be guards on the wall keeping an eye out for enemies attacking the city from behind, there weren't any patrols outside. No recent tracks of any human for that matter. It was likely no one had been outside the city since the siege had started.

She sat down and pulled some paper from her bag that she carried around for mapmaking. Sil landed next to her when Fenna wrote a short letter to Lucy to let her know they had completed the contract, that they were outside the city and would be coming inside, and from what direction they would attempt to do that. After signing it with "Second Chance" she rolled it up. "This is for Lucy," she said to Sil, thinking about the woman. "She's in the Adventures Guild," she added, thinking about how the building looked. Sil looked at her. "Bring this to Lucy in the Adventures Guild," she said, keeping the images in her mind. She used the white bandage from James to attach the letter to Sil's leg. "Go on, darling. I'll wait for you at the camp."

As Sil flew up, Fenna returned to the camp to let the others know going to the city wouldn't pose any risks from the ground, but they would need cover from the guards on the walls. If the letter would get to Lucy and Lucy would be able to assist, there shouldn't be an issue, but it was better to prepare for hostility from the walls.

In the setting sun, Sil soared through the sky and high over the wall. Her keen eyes scouted the city below as she circled down and soon spotted the building she needed to be. Flying down, she circled around the building, peering through windows, until she found Lucy sitting at a table. She flew to the window and tapped on it with her beak until Lucy opened the window. Using her indoor flying ability, Sil hopped through the window and flew on the table, where she patiently waited for Lucy to take the letter.

After Lucy put a new roll in its place, Sil left the adventures guild and once more flew up high, high enough guards wouldn't see her and if they did, would miss her if they tried to shoot her. The sun had set now, but the dim light was still enough for Sil to find the camp.

Fenna was resting when Sil landed next to her and she saw the paper sticking out of the bandage. Was it her letter? She took it out and tried to make out the letters in whatever light was left. Big letters, Lucy had anticipated there wouldn't be much light and that they were smart enough to not make a fire. I'll do what I can. Lucy.

"We have an ally within the walls, but there is no guarantee she can help," Fenna informed the others. "Lucy is aware we're on our way." She turned to Sil. "Great job, thank you for doing this."

She rested the remainder of the night, although interrupted when MacKensie left, but she didn't get up until Clive joined them in the camp.
