The story
There once was a time when magnificent beings, commonly spirits and humans lived together in harmony on the continent of Ravoevré. They worship these beings as deities and good providers,the humans had the highest and greatest respect towards them while to some, spirits were holy beings that were the closest to God because of how they keep the world in order. Others believed that spirits were gods or demons, eventually mankind practiced worshipping them without fail which transcends for many generations.
Every time, humans would borrow power from these deities in a form of a shell such as animal life and floral life, they lend them their power and wisdom to assist in their everyday life from livelihood,wars and occasions. Wars already existed before mankind was created by God out of the ashes, mankind was the first to crawl out of the mud. Since the beginning of time, the two great Spirits, Indra the spirit of light and Asura the spirit of darkness, had been fighting over for the fate of the world yet neither of them have attain victory as it is stalemate and one cannot destroy the other. While Indra and his forces assures that mankind prospers and teach them values, Asura and his forces on the other hand, corrupts and bring agony thus, mankind were divided, majority remained holding on to Indra's light while some fall into Asura's temptation, that is why wars were happen continuously. The two great spirits brought realms into this Earth, the heavens shine upon Indra whereas the never ending flames of hell are ruled by Asura, their powers were so great that they devastated continents and it was then Indra first gained 'victory' and established the new era of men but thar doesn't stop Asura from continuing his evil plans, he remained in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to strike.
The renewed era of humans and spirits, it was Indra who constantly tried to fix the state of the world, preaching his wisdom and light to the living, he created a holy tree so that men would help themselves in their daily lives, believing that the tree would provide them well enough but Asura knew better. He planted a portion of evil into that holy tree which later gave birth to Spirit Guardians, more like they were spiritual beings like Indra and Asura, for each type of animal there would be a counterpart as opposed to each. These animals were ordered to guide men' progression, magic was given and under Indra's guidance along with his familiars, he hoped that men will prosper while he journeys to battle Asura once more for the fate of the world. Many generations have passed, Indra and Asura relentlessly battle in the spirit world while their familiars continue to convert living beings into each side.
A young man named Feng whose family are one of Indra's followers also battles Asura's forces, Feng may not be the smartest nor strongest but he lead a simple life. His family was poor due to so many conflicts, so do countless families in this world but he was happy, even though he live a life of stealing, it was all for his family. He contributes to the war indirectly for he feared the safety of his family, when he turned 19 he was offered to serve his country, Za'el and fight Asura's forces. Unfortunately, he was treacherous and decisive, he abandoned other families for his own personal gain of keeping the power that Indra's familiars lent him. Feng had good intentions of doing so, he needed power to free his family from the royal tyrant that rules his country, unfortunately he failed and lives were lost and Feng was banished.
He wandered but not alone, only his best friend, Shin stayed with him through and through but unfortunately Shin died and Feng was once again left alone, he was lost into many places he doesn't know. The young man didn't bother about the war nor was it his concern, all he ever cared now was fending for himself, he continued stealing from noble families and so on, Feng uses the holy flames to help the poor, he then met one of Indra's disciples, Ling, she thought him more about Indra's teachings and beliefs. Ling made Feng determined to fight alongside with her but they were separated after some point. Later on Feng fought countless battles, he then saw two couples fighting over a gem, Feng intervened that fight and the gem was on his hands. He was given a choice to decide whom shall the gem belong to, he passed the gem on seemingly kind woman, it was then revealed that the spirit was Asura and he got away.
Indra was upset first but he decided to teach Feng in order to fight Asura in a year. They battled for the fate of the world, Asura was defeated and sealed in that gem, never again to harm this world. Feng became Indra's successor, allowing him to have innate magic, no longer borrowing from Indra himself and his familiars. The power Feng receive was passed down through many generations and society was even more civilized and an era of peace was establish. This later becomes a folklore.
