I propose to you this, as you take on the role of the freshly dead, their first Rites not yet started as they are lowered into the dark depths of the Undercity of Paris, once catacombs and now a true Necropolis, where the restless dead go about their grim unlives in the ever awaited End of the World, where Dead and Living are said to be destroyed and born anew in the Next World. The Black Death may have finally passed through Europe and left some life in its wake, but its passage changed Death forevermore. No longer were the souls of the dead sent to Heaven or Hell, their journey continuing even as their bodies desiccated and turned to dust.

It is now the Renaissance Era above, and you, a fresh member of the Dead, are confronted with a choice; will you accept your new state and learn the way of the Unliving or will you pursue the rumors of a way to gain a living body once more? Remember you choices, always, and do not ever lose your way.

Set similarly to a Choose Your Own Adventure novel, I shall be your guide and will unveil opportunities as you grasp them. What will happen to your dead soul? Only you can discover it.
